Has anyone got banned?

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN said in Companion App Bug and Suspicious Market Activity:
If they ban people for this; then they should ban all the streamers that were promoting on their channels.
But, nope, streamers won't get banned. There are still three to four, that I know of, that still promote buying stubs from a third party.
Someone buys those stubs; they're banned. But the streamers that keep promoting the sites get nothing.
Oh they get a commission from the 3rd party site

If SDS bans any of use who took advantage of their stupidity, then it will cost them dearly.
Exploiting this is a clear violation of their terms of service. I say bring down the ban hammer.
Everyday I spend $20 on stubs and buy packs. I am trying to pull Trout to complete the LS collection so I can use my favorite player of all time. The Captain. I have a habit of quickselling all non Diamond cards because I don't have time to list them on the market. I get banned because a few of my commons quick sold for more than they usually. I am now banned...based on your understanding of exploitation of the market. Sound business judgement.
Trout is 116k right now. Just a suggestion but rather than gambling 20 dollars a day, you could just buy the stubs to buy the card. Just a suggestion.

Flip that around. Why would anyone continue to spend money on stubs when they can get them with exploits and not be punished?
This is more of an argument for SDS to clean up their updates. They caused this issue not the players.
Officer, I was only speeding because my car manufacturer made my car too fast.
Your car is out of gas as you pull up to the station. Gas usually sells for $5.99 per gallon but today the sign says $0.59. The sign on the door says after hours pay at the pump. The pump does not allow you to pay more than $0.59 per gallon. You leave your car and start walking home with your head held high.
I see you walking and I swerve towards a puddle to splash you as I laugh.
Your analogies need work.
You also seem very defensive. I never said you should be banned or what the bar is for exploiting a bug. Guilty conscience perhaps?
Your arguments have centered around the fact that you’re a customer and it’s a tempting and easy exploit. Well, so are the people that chose not to use the exploit and a lack of self control isn’t much of a defense.
I'm not defensive. Do you remember we did a league with Write to Shawn last year. I have been a follower for quite a while and on most issues, especially social ones, we are aligned . I am just giving you a different perspective on what happened today. Not once did I put you down in a mean way.

I have all collections done NMS. I was just giving a scenario that I know exists and provides way more money to SDS that could easily be caught up in this.

I acknowledge the complexity of SDS’s decision due to financial reasons, but the TOS are very clear about this. I would be disappointed if they choose not to punish or at least remove illegitimately earned stubs. At the very least, most would not hesitate to take advantage of future exploits. At worst, if the inflation was bad enough, some would reconsider future stub or game purchases.

I wouldn't care. The gains are about 2% of my balance.

Bottom line is the someone at SDS messed up. The player base did not. I don't get a paycheck from SDS. It's not my job to recognize when someone in their office dropped the ball. If I push the quick sell button does the TOS say I should wait until SDS fixes their mistake?
This is a major game that pulls in tons of money and it's clear the entire company will take weekends off together. Otherwise Sammy's post wouldn't have been up for four days They should consider their mistake today a make up for all the co-op freezes and all the mini-season restarts we have had to just...I dunno...deal with.
If someone looks at those of us that quick sold and truly thinks they deserve any kind of ban then for your sake I hope you get your wish. But it'll mean less interaction. Longer waits when playing online. And less movement in the market.

It also meant a lot of extra stubs for whoever did quicksell. Giving them an advantage over anyone who did not… it’s a clear violation of the terms of service. Mistakes happen. That doesn’t mean people should go out of their way to cash in on them. -

Right from the terms of service at https://theshow.com/mlb-the-show-online-code-of-conduct/
You may not cheat, exploit or use any bugs, glitches, vulnerabilities or unintentional game mechanics in PlayStation Network or any of its products or services to obtain an unfair advantage.
They probably won't ban anyone for this, but you never know. Just fair warning.
I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but don't want anyone to get hurt, either.I get what you’re saying but in this case it’s a bug from their update. The individual users are not necessarily doing anything to glitch or exploit the game. Like I only found it because I wanted to sell some duplicates and the app was filtering random common cards to the top of my inventory
You do understand what they mean when they say “USE any bugs or glitches” right? In this case it’s a bug from their update…. Ummm yep which people are using lol…

Is it normal that everything shows up like it normally would for me? I dont see anything out if the ordinary

Man this got contentious rather quickly. Personally, I don’t care what others do but I am always leery when I see major market discrepancies. I know stubs are at a premium this year but flipping has just gotten good. I’ll just go that route- it’s basically my alternative for a fidget spinner or something to keep my hands occupied when bored at work. I work at a desk for a packaging company. I get bored a lot.
Also, do you all think the show runners changed their mind last minute for the ending of Game of Thrones? It felt rushed. If I’m gonna get banned, it better be for an awesome show like GOT as opposed to Friends. Ok, I like Friends.
What were we talking about?

If anyone needs to be banned, it's people that keep making these ridiculous mistakes. Double text on mission lists. Invalid roster errors. Destroying the market.
Ban them from the SDS office, because it's getting embarrassing. Do they even test any of these updates before pushing them out?
I know right. Does this company take pride in their work? The development team needs an update.

GOT was awesome until the last season, can we have a do over on that? Honestly still a bit bitter on how GOT ended but House of dragons was great in its first season.

Do you guys know anything about software development and how complex testing is? I suppose no. Bugs are part of every software there is on the market. Google has lots of bugs, MS too and so does SDS … But (and that is important): Accepting faillure and try to be better next time … that is the real way to look at it (blaming is the other … it usually won‘t help). To get back on that: I do not remember this kind of error in the last few years … And I think, it won‘t happen again
