I read almost everything.
Collin -- That's great, you and others read almost everything, but we aren't interested in your literacy. We want communication.
Twitter resets the same server message almost everyday. We had a few threads about updates but those stopped too. We asked devs questions for weeks and weeks prior to launch on pressing issues and they were never addressed: Online Franchise and Sounds of the Show come to mind. Information on pressing issues is revealed through people purchasing, playing the game and finding out something has changed or is not longer in the game.
We want community managers who are willing to be upfront and honest with the community they serve. Not a development team that stays hush-hush on pressing issues because they do not want to negatively impact profits.
Honest and open dialogue is not always comfortable and its usually the right thing to do. Lean-in to the uncomfortable conversation; Be open and honest.
The game plays beautifully when it is firing on all cylinders. As someone who absolutely detest card collection games modes (they have ruined sports games), I tell people that DD is the best version of them all. I have pulled three buddies into the game, and they love it.
The shame is that the games issues are only further exacerbated due to a lack of communication from the team that put the game together.
Thank you for taking the time to sift through the threads. Now communicate with people that use them with a little more content then informing us that you can read.

Given how things are, probably best not to engage with this community.
Look at what happens on Twitter when they post about maintenance.
resetting the servers to handle all the back-logged data (due to everything being online because everything connects to DD) is not maintenance. Further more, no one on the dev teams is telling us what the issue(s) is and what steps they are taking to address the specific issue(s).

With all the complaints going around the forums, whether it be hitting, pitching, fielding, etc., you never see a single community manager, moderator, or developer commenting on any thread. Even if it's a simple question that a developer could answer, you never see one.
I just don't understand how on their own community forums, we are all left to complain within ourselves. I understand chances are they look at the forum and certain threads, but i remember last year and especially in 18, you would see threads with developers commenting all the time, even if it was mostly Victor or Colin. Is the toxicity that drove them away? Toxicity of complaints would not be such a problem if they actually were transparent enough to tell us things outside of twitter.
Thoughts?I don't blame them one bit. Every time one of them replies they get hammered with 5000 questions and insults.
Because they're not proactive with their communication and resolutions.
-
Do they have enough people to fix the issues that are being reported, Do they have enough people to look at all the tickets that are submitted in a timely matter. How are tickets prioritized. If my reported issue is not going to be fixed or resolved can I get a response to why or a request for more data or proof. i submit a ticket get a automated message it is being looked into and that is the end of it. No response it was fixed or we can not fix it or we need more proof. They did address the server issues in the last stream.

I'm not arguing the semantics of the word 'maintenance'. Though you are correct, trash day would be more apt.
I'm not in any way shilling here but if I were them, I wouldn't want to deal with the vitriol either. Look at what happened after the make right, 'BEST DEVS EVER!', two hours later, 'GARBAGE DEVS!'
Yeah, they have it coming but they don't need to fan the flames dealing with the 'experts' everyday.
Stop talking and get on with the job is my take. Platitudes do nothing, working does. Though, they aren't doing well on the latter so far.
-
Doesn’t seem like they care much about the fan base. Look at the issues posted compared to the update reports.

I read almost everything.
I submitted a ticket April 28th when I lost 36,714 stubs on the market after a buy order for yelich just disappeared along with my stubs. Haven’t heard a peep from CS other than the automatically generated email they send right away. I’ve emailed back twice now and not a single reply.

> Nevermind good ol @joshjays44 he plays offline franchise only.
Whats wrong with being an offline guy?
>I'm a man that's why and I speak of the truth!!
So, before you make a comment about MLB The Show run it by Josh first to make sure its the truth.

"The Devs should spend less time working on the game and more time browsing message boards" is one heck of a take!
Yep...that's what we're saying. So happy you could boil it down.

Thoughts?Well, most of the complaints are garbage...it would potentially be good to have a moderator to remove the garbage posts...but then there will be complaints about censorship or whatever, and it'll be the same thing with a different name.
Then, when they do post, people get pretty pissed at them, so the toxicity would go on. I've never had an issue getting response from them when I really need one, such as purchase issues or something, but if they're getting the 1000th email telling them that their game sucks when it clearly does not, then there's nothing they can really do. The player base needs to take responsibility and stop crying so much (obviously not everyone, but there are players who seem to get on every post to express their misguided disdain).
Thousands of unaddressed tickets; Literally thousands.
Threads are open where people are asking if other user tickets have been addressed. The community is looking to the community for answers; that's a problem and a majority of the tickets have not been addressed.
I put a ticket in two weeks ago -- I have not received a response, not even a generic email. What do you want the community to take responsibility for? I would love to help fix servers, I'd love to fix my missing Franklin Freeman card. What issues are we responsible for.
Be patient? People spent money on a product that isn't meeting the baseline expectations. The controlling party isn't addressing the community. It's a problem.
-
Hey so when is the game gonna stop giving me and my opponent losses for the GAMES mistakes, not disconnection. It’s BS for me and my opponent to sit here play a one hour game and be tied 1-1 in the seventh just for a freeze to give us both losses. This needs to be addressed and it never does, I want a loss taken off my record, that’s not my fault.
-
Their main problem has always been a major lack of communication, and frankly, terrible PR. Just look at their Twitter. There is a huge disconnect.
Typically when they are on here it's not even answering the questions or addressing the issues everyone is complaining about...
Hey Colin are you all ever going to fix the appearance resetting issue in Ballplayer? A good first step would be actually acknowledging it. And then maybe a "hey guys we're working on it.". Wow that was hard. My bug report was never even answered. And I'm assuming RTTS equipment is still broken/useless but I haven't played that sh*tshow lately. -

Bless your soul! I’m new to these forums and man oh man... It’s worse out here than teaching evals from a Covid semester. May be done after I’m finished traveling cause for a gamer, it’s neither entertaining nor useful. Sorry you gotta read this man.

There's always these types.
-
Oh yikes, I’m a “these types”. No other gaming forum is this toxic and you just proved that point. Don’t get me wrong. There’s plenty I’d love to see fixed, changed, or improved upon, but y’all just wild. Not sure if you believe this forum to be civil, but if so, wouldn’t a civil response make more sense? I’m just confused by a toxic reply, refuting a claim of toxicity. Maybe I shouldn’t be though haha
-
"Ya'll wild" yada, yada, yada "Believe this forum to be civil" yada, yada, yada. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you somehow neglected to read the comments of those who mentioned how their tickets were never responded to because they achieved those stubs and how this kind of disconnect has been going on for years. But the people here are just toxic for no reason. Here's the thing though, it's one thing for people to complain because those catching the flak didn't comply to each and every issue and then there's toxicity where not only are flack catchers not addressing those issues but they're not doing the simple things to show the people they want to better the game in a timely fashion - and maybe they are with upcoming patches but you also do it by keeping the people updated addressing their stub or server concerns in an efficient manner or communicating better with people on the boards. If this way was done and you address the people you wouldn't have to worry about "toxicity". Treat people like they just paid a $100 for your game. Bro, this is simulation sports. How hard is it for one to mimic a sport you have exclusive rights to? They did put Onyx 'Let the boys be boys' in playlist as a jab at traditionalists. Well then where's the extra accessories as the players on the field and updated presentation. This is nothing against the Show but no one should have tell guys who have exclusive rights to mirror a game they probably watch daily.
There are other games I'm seeing for lesser consoles that are mind numbingly nuts graphics wise. But you're telling me that updating a sports game (not creating a new world like fantasy games) with better night game lighting, better accessories, better game presentation after years of asking is complaining or toxic when people are paying a $100 for next gen after purchasing a console for close to half a grand? "Haha".

Great... now tell these kids that online games are through a dedicated server and not P2P. They dont believe me.

You're a funny guy. I'd wager SDS hasn't actually replied to 1% of the questions.
I'd even go as far as less then 24 replies total.

Watching this thread and praying for a reply.

It’s my understanding that support tickets don’t warrant a response on the forum, but yea, they should definitely be fixed/taken care of. That’s a legitimate complaint. But then it gets drowned out by soundtracks and accessories for no reason, as well as the daily threads titled “game sux”. I get that people are pissed, and the servers/bugs/tickets likely stemming from it should be fixed. Still stand by what I said though.
