… well I am too old for that . Wait and see … and speculate. It will probably be someone nobody mentioned.So let me ask you a question....if you watched the Storylines stream (which is where im pretty sure Ramone said we were only getting the 8...) you could clearly see how much this mode means to him. Do you really believe that such a fabled hitter like Josh Gibson would just be a surprise collection? He's gonna get his own storyline and thats not happening this year unless they plan on making him a hidden bonus storyline unlocked after completing the first 8. But again, that would be kinda stupid on their part for not announcing him....and i think SDS is smart enough to know that.
It would have made sense to go with 9 players for storylines but what Ramone said in the video was "THIS (meaning the 8 players that were announced) is the inaugural storylines roster. This year we have 8 players for season 1...next year will be another group of players..."
He didnt say "we have 8 players now but we're gonna add more during the year in a collection" so it sounds to me like these are the 8 players we're getting.

I would reallllllly love to see Griffey Jr for the LS collection reward. IMO, they wait far too long to release a usable Griffey every year.
Give the people what they want right away.

Intriguing idea, but a couple of downsides to that:
A) all this ‘99s all year’ talk will be fleshed out in tomorrow’s stream. But if previous years are any indication, the Collection 99s tend to be ridiculously overpowered compared to the rest of the early-season cards. Combine that with the fact that Griffeys cards are usually overpowered to begin with and you’re looking at him being an unfair cheat code for most, if not all, the year.
B. They make a big deal every year of Griffey’s 99 release (#GriffeyWeek) and I don’t see them wanting to abandon that marketing tool.
C. It’s going to be Jeter. 100000%. Prepare accordingly.

Ever since 2017 (2021 excepted and 2018 sorta), the Live Series Collection has always been the highest-profile debuting legend (Babe was the big one in 18, but they did the Immortals thing and made Vlad (the 2nd highest profile debuting legend) the Collection.
Jeter, like him or not (and I'm on the "not" side) is the highest profile debuting legend this year.

first of all: relax, all speculations …
To the question: Yes, why not !?!??!?
They could put in a special episode afterwards … everything is possible … as I said: All speculation
One last question: Why wait for season 2 to put in such a famous hitter ? btw: They did not say, that season 1 guys are in season 2 (but it could make sense)

Just dont do a Madden or NBA and bring back a legend we use to have and make him the ultimate reward like Ted Williams.

Randy Johnson was the big one. Though I’m assuming he was in the game before when he was active. He had 2 amazing 99s.
Mike Mussina had a solid card (I thought so at least)
Roy Halladay was a big one, not sure if people loved his card.
Other notables- Ray Durham, Joe Mauer, Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Mike Napoli, Kevin Youkalis, Justin Mourneau and some others. I’m sure I’m missing some bigger ones.

They better do Justin Mourneau better justice this year. His best card was a MVP 98 overall card. Yet, Hosmer gets a finest 99 card.
Kirk Gibson was a good one. Espeicially his 94 collection card at the beginning of the game.
