ALCS Yankees vs Astros
-
I know this forum is pretty quiet when it comes to actual baseball talk, but I also know there are a few of us fans out there. Since the ALCS is underway, here is a discussion thread for it.

So Verlander seems to have rebound nicely from his Game 1 ALDS debacle. 6.0 Ip 11 K's 1 bb 1 ER. Still anyone's game though late.
Astros just added another as I was typing. Pena again. Correa 2.0, new and improved.
-
Pena has been amazing in the post season
-
Pressly came out dealing tonight too. Nice 4 out save.
-
Verlander has been lights out all year, the Mariners were the only team to get 5 or more runs against him this year and they did it twice.
I'm thinking it's going to be Astros/Padres for the World Series
-
I dont understand how it seems there are always new records being set with the length of history baseball has.
The Astros struck out 2 times the Yankees 17. That 15 K differential was the largest in post season history. Crazy.
-
Pena and Bader are going to get some monster cards for the PS series
-
On to NY we go.
-
My dream WS is anything that doesn't include either the Dodgers or the Yankees. We're halfway there.

It amazes me how Verlander is still throwing 97mph. I think he came into the league when Kershaw did. I remember when he and Darvish were traded before the trade deadline in 2017. I wish the Dodgers would have got him.

His K's per 9 were down this year but only down from his time with the Astros. His K/9 this year matched his Detroit years. And this season was better overall then his MVP season. He will probably get a big payday in the offseason, but I cannot see the Stros resigning him with Hunter Brown and Forest Whitley coming up. At least as an Astro fan I would rather them use that money elsewhere.

Jays are out, baseball is dead to me!! where's my god [censored] latte!
-
Wind must be crazy today in the Bronx.
-
Is it me or is Matt Carpenter an automatic out? What happened to this guy. He used to be a great hitter for the Cardinals.
And what happened to Cole? Is he on short rest? Yankees are done if they lose this one.
-
Yankees can still win this thing. Astros did lose 4 in a row back in mid April. It could happen again.
-
As unlikely as it seems right now the Yankees could still pull a Red Sox and win 4 straight. I do believe it's going to be Phillies vs Astros in the world series though
-
Who would have thought? A sweep!

Maybe the Astros should have worn elbow pads during their celebration!
