My dream WS is anything that doesn't include either the Dodgers or the Yankees. We're halfway there. 🙂

Verlander has been lights out all year, the Mariners were the only team to get 5 or more runs against him this year and they did it twice.

I'm thinking it's going to be Astros/Padres for the World Series

It amazes me how Verlander is still throwing 97mph. I think he came into the league when Kershaw did. I remember when he and Darvish were traded before the trade deadline in 2017. I wish the Dodgers would have got him.

His K's per 9 were down this year but only down from his time with the Astros. His K/9 this year matched his Detroit years. And this season was better overall then his MVP season. He will probably get a big payday in the offseason, but I cannot see the Stros resigning him with Hunter Brown and Forest Whitley coming up. At least as an Astro fan I would rather them use that money elsewhere.

Is it me or is Matt Carpenter an automatic out? What happened to this guy. He used to be a great hitter for the Cardinals.

And what happened to Cole? Is he on short rest? Yankees are done if they lose this one.

Yankees can still win this thing. Astros did lose 4 in a row back in mid April. It could happen again. 🙃 🙃 🙃

As unlikely as it seems right now the Yankees could still pull a Red Sox and win 4 straight. I do believe it's going to be Phillies vs Astros in the world series though

Maybe the Astros should have worn elbow pads during their celebration!

He still pitched. Maybe they will put him in a bubble for this celebration lol. LMJ finds a way to get injured.

Did he stay out of this celebrate like Robertson did? they showed the pen's reaction when Harper hit the homer and Robertson was the only one not celebrating, which i thought was amusing after he got hurt in STL celebrating that one.

Amazing year for the Phillies both IRL and in MLB the Show. Sorry Astros fans but kind of cheering for them, get Harper his World Series.

I agree. Though Verlander is one of the best pitchers in the game now, he isn’t going to have too many left. He is almost 40 years old, what he has contributed to baseball is amazing. I am not an Astros fan, but I am a baseball fan. I am sure he can pitch a little longer, but he is going to get big money. Is his contract up this year?

He has the option. He signed for cheap after his surgery with this season being more of a "show me you can still pitch" type season. And I would say he did so he will get a raise.

As a Mets fan I can’t bring myself to root for the Phillies in this series even tho I can admit it’s impressive the run they went on to get here. I haven’t given them much a shot through this postseason run and they keep proving me wrong tho so I see the series being competitive at least.
Also can we all agree Joe Kelly needs to shut up at this point. For all his high roading wasn’t this guy on the Red Sox the year they got popped for cheating?
