O’Neil Cruz is better than Griffey? Got it. Cool SDS.
I think it’s more like: in the future Cruz will be better than griffey in the 2nd half of his career.
Or, all the attributes are made up and the points don’t matter and it’s a game.
The card is for the 2nd Half of his 1996 season. He batted .306/.396/.627 with 26 HRs and 80 RBI.
This card will bat .200 at best for anyone who plays above All Star.

At the very least, I could really use another 2nd Half card so that is a plus.

I mean, we are not even in the middle of this The show version... and if it is based on his second half on 1996, the overall rating matched.
-
Will the card play up though lol?

I don't care that the attributes are week. As soon as I saw it was a 2nd Half, I knew this was smoke and mirrors. But they are trolling. They post on Twitter
"Wanna see Griffey's attributes?"- Yes
- YEEEEEEEEEEES.
They know we are all eagerly hoping for a game changer of a card. Then they post attributes that are nowhere near his 99s of the past. And I'm sure they are loving the explosive hate fest on Twitter.
To the points made above. It's a video game.... it's made up, 99s are irrelevant. And that is all true.
But I am just curious why SDD seems to enjoy trolling and messing with their fan base. It's an odd model for sure. Is this common in video games? I'm still new. I wish I could go on Twitter and troll my customers.

The community is outraged over a free card that they had unrealistic, unfounded expectations for. Color me surprised.
-
That Ketel card is way better than this Griffey card. This looks more like a Buxton card with less speed.

i don’t even want to hear the “sToP coMpLaiNiNg AbOuT a FrEe cArD” BS. it’s beyond frustrating to have them market a new 99 griffey and get everyone hyped up for an elite, fan-favorite card in august (which we never seem to get him until the game is dead) just to drop him and make him worse than 93 ketel marte. extremely disappointed

Maybe that is why people should have kept their expectations in check.
And the 93 Ketel Marte card better? I don't think so unless you only look at Contact and nothing else. The Griffey card has better Power, fielding and speed.

He's a slightly better version of the 95 Austin Hendrick from the original 95 OVR future stars drop: https://showzone.io/players/compare?players=0490a34bd15b117838f10cf77686a74f,93851216f80848cd6feece07c3398617
Absolute garbage.

It depends on how you play the game. If you are a solos and events player I agree with you. If you want to be competitive in Ranked Seasons and aren't a teenager with 20/20 vision on Ritalin, this Griffey is close to an automatic out.
