Apparently, I can't do basic math

I'm sure someone has posted this, so bear with me. It's about RS innings.
I figured I'd make a run at the 300 innings to get Maddux. It's the only way I think I can afford to get the Takashi collection completed. After my first two games, I was at a grand total of 4 innings. I played a game this morning, and I was the home team. I lost, but played the full 9 innings. I am now at... 12 innings.
Where'd my inning go?
-
This happens all the time... im not sure why but i check my innings after every game and its usually 1 and sometimes 2 short of what you played... and extra innings dont count either

If I play a full game and I win, and I'm the home team, I get 8 innings. Which I guess makes sense (8 1/2 innings technically?). But I played the full 9 this time.
Ah, the mysteries of RS/DD...

I decided to try and play some ranked this time around and I am something like 7-1, but have around 25 innings. I get switching to innings prevents people from tanking, but I do somewhat miss the wins system. I guess there just isn't a perfect system. Regardless, every inning should count after the top half is complete.

I'm 2-1 with 12 innings. I'm loading up my team with Phillies/Blue Jays to complete missions. I don't care about my record - I just want to eat up innings. It's a weird mindset for sure.
-
I'm fairly certain you need to pitch full innings with your pitchers for all the innings to count. They have never been able to figure out how to make the game track 1/3 + 2/3=1
-
If you switch a pitcher mid inning you lose that inning

Wait….what? For the RS innings reward, if in the middle of the 7th I go to my bullpen I don’t get credit for that inning?
-
Well this is disappointing. Surly sds is aware of it and will address it through community communication and speedy patches.
-
You know how there is a tax on the marketplace, well there is an innings tax to, that's where it went.

That is my understanding of it or at least what seemed to happen to me, nothing is confirmed so it all speculation on my part. I know when there was pitching state like pitch X innings with this teams player items it would only count if a pitcher pitched a full inning

This has been an issue for years, it's nothing new. Just avoid subbing pitchers mid-inning.

While that may work, it would be nice if SDS could just calculate innings properly. You shouldn't have to let a reliever get pounded so you can get credit for playing an inning.

Yes, this was common when looking at PXP or previous years IP missions where you need to pitch a full inning in the box score. Although I'm pretty sure this wont break the innings played thing since it should be looking at total IP by your staff. So even if a guy gets yanked mid inning, the total innings played would be the same.
Only way I see innings not counting if someone rage quits before the end of the inning? Even if you're home team, you still pitch the full 9. If you lose as the away team I can see where it would only give you credit for 8 since you didn't pitch the 9th.
Also speculating since I dont know but feel like this should be a simple thing to tally for team based innings played.

It counts for pxp this year, you ll get 13 pxp for 1/3 ip.
sounds like it screws up the rs ip count though. -

Oh I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's the work-around. Having been an issue this long, I don't see it getting fixed anytime soon.

I like the switch to innings, but the fact that this game has never been able to count innings correctly kinda sucks

What?!? Well, I will adjust my strategy appropriately.
"I don't care if you're out of energy Henke! Finish the inning!"
