I have a feeling we will see additional programs at official launch and when the bears ball season starts. Patience.
So what’d we pay for early access for? To look at the menus?
To have early access and a head start on the base game.
To get bonus packs.
To not have to spend 4 more days avoiding logging into ‘21.
The head start would imply there is something to get a head start on..
Something like a featured program?
I meant something one could obtain cards, that they want, from in a reasonable amount of time. Like a team affinity program

Also quicksell values were cut big time. I thought they would do this. last year was the year to get all the new Xbox players addicted to the content. Now they can pull the reigns back and push for more stub sales.
The quicksell value change could end up being for the better imo

Way too early to say that, but yesterday's stream definitely gave a bad impression that they're heading down that road. Bad enough that I decided not to order. I may pick it up a few months down the road when it's on sale if I still have the itch.
The worst decision IMO was making the first six FOTF cards you can obtain no choice/no sell. I don't want to grind a program and end up with a card that I have no interest in.
Madden went this route this year, where cards you earn random items that are NCAT. Not auctionable, not tradeable, and you cant even put them in sets. Most rewards you get are random just like those first 6 FOTF packs. One of the worst things Madden did and now EA is copying. Hopefully SDS sees how bad this is and changes it for the next featured program. I always brag on how SDS is so much better than EA but this small change is concerning and makes me worried about the direction SDS is headed.

I'll bet yall a million stubs monthly awards won't be free anymore either.
-
Is it too late to get a refund????
-
Jeez, I'll beat SDS up when they made legit [censored] ups but all I'm seeing is a bunch of crybabies making assumptions after seeing the content in EARLY ACCESS. If they don't drop other programs and the future features programs look like this go ahead and panic but considering their track record with content I'm not super worried at the moment.

doesnt bother you that outside of DD they've barely touched a single thing?

I love how they neglected to mention any of these changes in streams. Cause they know once you buy the game you can't get a refund. I'm fuckin so livid

My Theory is that they are building on MTO to eventually use that code to make a new franchise mode, The current franchise mode is old code that is already built up to the point that changing something could break a lot of dependencies it has, Now hopefully they are working on more stuff for the new franchise than just what we see in updates for MTO each year

I would love for them to update franchise but that's besides the point. That isn't what people in this post have been complaining about

I didnt go through every single post in this thread so I can only speak for myself. But the fact that they ignored pretty much everything outside of DD seems like something straight out of the EA playbook. They barely touched DD too, they gave us mini seasons and consolidated the program path, which as of rn looks like there will be less content this year.
Also there are a lot of legends missing from the game that had been in years prior. This worries me that they dont have enough legends to push out the level of content they did last year

Last year at release:
30 earnable ta1 players, 3 ta conquests with hidden rewards, inning program, daily program, over 300 packs to earn. This year, roll all that shitt up into 1 program, take away almost all the packs, and take away almost 3/4 of the earned players.
Game cost the same, packs cost the same, preorder time is the same, servers costing players money
And you: "people are complaining, what crybabies"

Yep, and I stand by the statement. Crying about content during early access when for all we know they could drop more maps and other things the day of actual release is stupid. Like I said earlier, if into the second or third featured program there are still barely any packs then go ahead and panic but doing so during early access to me makes you look like a crybaby

I mean when you have a forum full of people going NMS, NMS, NMS you didn't think the company didn't see that and go wait a minute.
I love how it's been set up alot no matter what you are moving forward on progress no matter where you play, it's a good system
That's all fine and good. But this game is a giant step towards pay to win and the show has never been about that. This is disheartening.
I don't see that. Maybe I will later but I don't see that as being the case right now.
The new qs values are going to [censored] alot of people off. A player jumping from gold to diamond no longer qs for 5k. Last year we immediately had a ton of team affinity packs we could unlock from day 1, gone. There were 3 team affinity conquest with hidden rewards, gone. Unlock all team affinity players, gone- now you have to buy most of them. And I'm sure someone more involved could list more things.
I'm still playing but you can't say they haven't took lengths to insure we get less for our time spent in game.
This is what I'm preaching. There's simply a lot less content!!!! We have 3 big conquests for every TA that are gone. That's 15 less conquests. It remains to be seen if they will supplement them with other conquests and I admit I am prematurely freaking out about that.
Everyone keeps arguing that the reason this is bad is, it puts tons of cards behind a paywall. That is something we will have to wait and see because maybe they'll have these packs available all year like they did with the 42, KS, Space etc.
The big loss for me is all the grindable content that seems to be missing. But, perhaps there's more to all of this than I see.
I will say, they've done a good job of making online play more enticing to offline players. I literally won 8 games in RS last year, mostly off quits and just stopped playing them all together by June. I like offline because, simply put...I like to hit the ball. I get it, there's more challenge in online play. But I am not a master gamer. High Heat was my last baseball game in 2001. I don't care about wins and losses but when I strike out 23 times in a game, I've had very little fun. At least now there's more to online play than just Ws and Ls but I hope I can ramp up my offense.
Team Affinity had it's issues. But as a mostly offline player, I don't care at all about hiw other players zip through the program. Im not competing with them. If you wanna blast through a 300 point program in 5 hours through exchanges and Showdowns and have nothing left to do , be my guest. I want to enjoy the ride, put a cool NL East team together and add to it as I unlock players and see how they perform, how their stats accrue etc. There are so many people concerned about having an edge or worried about others that do, they don't take into account offline players who don't compete against anyone but themselves. For that, we need robust content.
My gripe last year with TA was they condensed it into Divisions. It was basically the same thing in 20 but with each team...I enjoyed building a monster Orioles team and grinding with it...People always complain about unusable cards...guess what - there was your chance to use them. LOL

They did cut back but Madden still shouldn't even be in the same sentence as The Show.
Well the game feels totally phoned in this year, so we're getting close to them being in the same sentence.
Personally I disagree, I think the gameplay is a lot smoother and love the idea of mini seasons. If you aren't enjoying it tho then who am I to say you're wrong? Difference of opinions
The gameplay is def smoother, cant deny that. But I do agree they are going the Madden route with their in game currency and ability to get cards
Idk, I switched from Ps5 to series x this year. I am shocked at how glitchy and not smooth it looks on Xbox. The pci is teleporting all over, like the frame rate is 10 or something.
-
It's definitely the same as Madden overall. All they care about is DD, Franchise is dead. I think grinders will be fine though there's going to be plenty of content.
-
I agree full madden mode … the whales will pay … and the common folks will suffer.
Back to Bases Loaded 2 until a new company creates a baseball game.

Yes, exactly. I could care less about a god squad. I want to try every card there is. TA gave us a chance to do that. I kept asking last year if TA had been reduced since it was 6 programs instead of 30. Everyone was like, no its about the same. How is that even remotely possible when it went from 30 programs to 6. And now 6 to 1. It's just not a game for offline players unfortunately.

The thing that stunk about 2020 TA was you had to finish a stage before you moved on. So that did mess up latecomers. Gotta unlock a unimpressive 87 diamond before you can get to the high 90's.
