I mean when you have a forum full of people going NMS, NMS, NMS you didn't think the company didn't see that and go wait a minute.
I love how it's been set up alot no matter what you are moving forward on progress no matter where you play, it's a good system
That's all fine and good. But this game is a giant step towards pay to win and the show has never been about that. This is disheartening.
I am seeing alot of hurt feelings because SDS just wants you to play the game to get your cards not breeze through exchanges and showdown. Yes sure you can pay to get collections done today but where is the fun in that. I have had 5 great hours on this game and Jake barely made a scratch on the content available.
Change is good let's embrace it if we look back in 2 months and things go the other way them yes let's have that discussion but nothing right now say SDS is in anyways making thing more pay to win maybe more play to win but isn't that the point
Spend 3x the hours to get half the content as previous years*

I am not a fan of god squads but I think there will still be god squads, people will have to pay for them though, at least to get them early, no more easy NMS god squads, that is the complaint as I see it regarding a move towards pay to win

I think the complaint last year was not that the team Affinity cards were to easy to get, it was that they were to strong. The ta3 csrds were better than almost all of the live series collection rewards except chipper. I honestly could care less about how many of the boss cards you can unlock through the program. I'm more bummed about all the packs we aren't getting from team affinity this year.
Last year each division would give you like 40 team affinity packs and 7 blah pack. That's alot of content missing. Wouldn't you agree?
Definitely a bummer not getting those packs but I think it was too easy for everyone to have millions of stubs last year. They definitely overcompensated a bit and future features programs will be better. I'm not ready to tear them apart after seeing the very first features program during early access

I'm not willing to tear them apart for this either. People losing tens of thousands of stubs because of the servers on day 1 and still no response from them is a bigger issue to me.
Also don't forget man, last year yes it was easy to make stubs, but the bug collections cost millions of stubs to complete. Remember mookie?

I don't see that. Maybe I will later but I don't see that as being the case right now.
The new qs values are going to [censored] alot of people off. A player jumping from gold to diamond no longer qs for 5k. Last year we immediately had a ton of team affinity packs we could unlock from day 1, gone. There were 3 team affinity conquest with hidden rewards, gone. Unlock all team affinity players, gone- now you have to buy most of them. And I'm sure someone more involved could list more things.
I'm still playing but you can't say they haven't took lengths to insure we get less for our time spent in game.
This is what I'm preaching. There's simply a lot less content!!!! We have 3 big conquests for every TA that are gone. That's 15 less conquests. It remains to be seen if they will supplement them with other conquests and I admit I am prematurely freaking out about that.
Everyone keeps arguing that the reason this is bad is, it puts tons of cards behind a paywall. That is something we will have to wait and see because maybe they'll have these packs available all year like they did with the 42, KS, Space etc.
The big loss for me is all the grindable content that seems to be missing. But, perhaps there's more to all of this than I see.
I will say, they've done a good job of making online play more enticing to offline players. I literally won 8 games in RS last year, mostly off quits and just stopped playing them all together by June. I like offline because, simply put...I like to hit the ball. I get it, there's more challenge in online play. But I am not a master gamer. High Heat was my last baseball game in 2001. I don't care about wins and losses but when I strike out 23 times in a game, I've had very little fun. At least now there's more to online play than just Ws and Ls but I hope I can ramp up my offense.
Team Affinity had it's issues. But as a mostly offline player, I don't care at all about hiw other players zip through the program. Im not competing with them. If you wanna blast through a 300 point program in 5 hours through exchanges and Showdowns and have nothing left to do , be my guest. I want to enjoy the ride, put a cool NL East team together and add to it as I unlock players and see how they perform, how their stats accrue etc. There are so many people concerned about having an edge or worried about others that do, they don't take into account offline players who don't compete against anyone but themselves. For that, we need robust content.

I'm willing to bet they'll be dumping Topps now cards every week also. I was willing to buy this year's game because of they'll content path they went last year. Now I've got shifty online gameplay AND bad content now? Pft good luck getting me back next year SDS. I bet this is the nail in the coffin for a lot of people.

I'm not willing to tear them apart for this either. People losing tens of thousands of stubs because of the servers on day 1 and still no response from them is a bigger issue to me.

I do, and with how they handed out stubs and packs I had him right away. Never made WS or went 12-0 either

idk the fact that they haven't updated anything besides minor gameplay changes and horrible commentary feels very EA to me

Feels like they spent more time removing content than the did adding. That's madden.

Can't fault them for going this route. I got every player I wanted, completed every collection, without spending an extra dollar. Had to expect this. Their stub sales couldn't have been that good, last cycle.

I meant something one could obtain cards, that they want, from in a reasonable amount of time. Like a team affinity program
