I find myself frustrated by the sheer lack of news regarding MLB-MLBPA negotiations during the lockout. All of baseball news has gone dark and I’m not getting any news at all.
So are they even trying? Especially MLB, is MLB even trying? Manfred cares nothing about baseball as far as I can tell (he just fired Rosenthal for criticizing him, or in other words, doing his job as a reporter), so I don’t see him in any hurry to get anything done.
My concern is, one, we won’t have a season.
My other concern is how this would affect this year’s game.Thoughts?
I see 2 options for SDS if the lockout continues.
1.) Keep building and updating on 2021
Or
2.) Release 2022 in March like they usually do and just update rosters when the lockout ends.
I suspect option 1 isn't really an option because there likely isn't much financial reward there.
Either way new content be coming in the spring.

They were league average
Farris said bottom 5 revenues, not payroll. That being said I am not sure which team fits that bill but Royals would be a good guess for that too.

I'm happy they've started. I know nothing is happening with the CBA, but nothing happening with the CBA is better than nothing at all.

I, for one, was around in ‘94 the last time this happened. If you guys don’t think the owners are willing to let this carry on into the season in order to get the player’s association to agree to their terms, I urge you to remember the Montreal Expos had the best record in baseball by a mile that year and never got a chance to go to the postseason.
In other words, I don’t think the owners care, and Mr. Manfred’s actions seem to reflect that. It’s very sad.
I feel like the owners are against Manfred primarily because he made all those rule changes in 2020. I'm sure there were things said between him and the owners that made negotiations to begin the season that year fall apart until July. Pitchers don't like him because of the sticky crackdown and the juiced baseballs. Atlanta, I'm sure, doesn't like him because of all the money the city lost from the All-Star game. I don't really know the minds of the owners, but I don't like Manfred at all, and I believe that the owners don't like him either.
Manfred is a mouthpiece for the owners. they collectively employ him and pay his salary. if they didn't like what he was doing they would get rid of him. there might be some owners that disagree with some of the things the league has done, but overall he's just acting out their wishes and standing out front to take the criticism off of them.

They will late to the last minute. Probably even cutting short spring training. It is the only leverage either one of them has...Time.

Gamerant is clickbait trash so I wouldn't put much faith Into it. I'm pretty sure its the same website that predicted the number of players playing this game with how many players actively unlocked PSN trophies per week
