I haven't seen my team play in a world series since elementary school. At least expectations for your teams haven't sunk so low that a season ending in a wild card round [censored] kicking was considered impressive enough to make a major hollywood movie about it lol.

2009 I was a 6 year old so I didn’t get to stay up and watch the full game. Ironically enough, 2010-2011 was around the years I started watching every Yankee game. I’m now 18 and haven’t gotten to watch my team win a World Series.

Every year it’s the same thing, the same pain and heartbreak. Y’all act like all Yankee fans are spoiled, and it’s just not true. I’m an adult now and haven’t seen my team do anything important in the playoffs live. It’s the same heartbreak every single year.

And you likely miss out on Clemson in playoffs too this year.

As of right now, they are missing out on being in the top 25.

I think the Yankees are cursed. Remember that incident when there was the Ortiz jersey buried where they were going to build the new Yankee Stadium in 2009? Well, the Yankees haven't won a WS since 2009, so that's how it seems to me.

Hell, I'm 33 and a Brewers fan. Haven't even been to the World Series in my lifetime. At least we're good now, after all those years I suffered through in the 2000s.

Outside of the early 80s, '87 and '92, the Brewers have been awful throughout my lifetime up until like 2008. As a kid I remember watching the '82 Series as my parents threw a party for game 7. It's been a rough franchise to cheer for, but at least we have the Packers and then finally the Bucks last year.

I get it, but believe me, the Yankees will always be an institution of winning. They hit a major lull in the 80s and early 90s and came back as the best dynasty from 96-03 ( 4 WS championships and 6 pennants) in my lifetime. They will be back. And once they win it all, they'll just keep winning. Still, it sucks to watch them fall short.

Institution of winning? I watch them get to the playoffs to do nothing year after year. Those days are over. George Steinbrenner’s team was an institution of winning, I didn’t get to enjoy any of that

Bro- 27 World Series wins, 40 appearances. The all time Winningest franchise (championships) in the history of sports. Come 2 hrs south to Philadelphia and I’ll show you what pain is being a Phillies fan.

Dude you are just a child you started watching baseball 12 years ago. Try being a Cubs fan some people went their entire lives without ever seeing them win a championship. I'm not trying to sound rude but grow up you sound like a baby.

I was 21 years old in ‘96. I remember the run very well! So well that I’m still sick of the Yankees. One of my favorite moments was watching a very young Josh Beckett walk into Yankee Stadium and completely shut them down!! Still sick of em!

I remember being happy for Yankee fans in '96 after they had endured the 80s and early 90s. They were a team that had some young home grown players, a couple names, and reclaimation projects at that point. Charlie Hayes, Mariano Duncan, Ruben Sierra, Strawberry mixed in with Boggs, O'Neill, Tino, and youngsters like Jeter, Bernie, and Rivera.

What they became was a completely different animal. Clemens, Giambi, Mussina, Sheffield, Matsui, ARod, Contreras, El Duque, etc. If there was a bidding war, they would win it. The winning on the field was one thing, but then their ability to buy whoever they wanted on top of it was what really pushed most fans to the hatred of the franchise.

My future as a Rockies fan, 0 championships throughout my lifetime. At least my football team got their first ring.

Yeah, I’ll agree with this statement. Even though I wasn’t a Yankee fan, I still felt bad for Donnie Baseball. NY won in ‘96 a year after he retired. He was a class act!

All Yankees fans born after 99 know is pain

They did win one in 2009. You would have been young, but depending on how much after, you could have watched it. I still can’t believe that 3-man rotation. Pettitte is the best postseason starter ever.
I remember watching the Yankees as a very young kid. They were so bad. No playoffs until I was a little bit older. I saw them pitch a no-hitter and lose though.

DJ sucks and we have no offensive line due to injuries. And nothing is being done about it. At the very least, Dabo should give another QB a shot, because from what I've seen so far, DJ's performance last year was a fluke.

I agree! I'm not a Yankees fan, so I'm naturally inclined to hate them. One of the main reasons I hate them is that they pay to win, and they don't care if they go over the spending limit. It's just disgusting to me

If I remember right, there were like 9? no hitters that season. I had SI pictures/covers all over my bedroom walls, and I think I had one that showed all the pitchers that had no-no's that year.
