Somehow I get the impression that your background in math is suspect, and the odds you stated are not calculated by any accepted method.
The 1:27,000 came from the CDC (which I would say they do unacceptable calculations due to calling deaths from car accidents and shootings to be included at Covid deaths which would make that number much larger!)
The 1:15,300 came from the National Weather Service and their stat for being struck by lightening over an "80-year lifetime"
You should probably look up information yourself and not rely on the boobtube to tell you what to believe!

Can't argue with bubbleheads and lemmings about covid, vaccinations, masks, or politics. They've learned all they need from the media and it's the truth, 'cause the media says so..
But, bottom line, most are just high-level narcissists that are so phobic and terrified (thanks to their fearmongering media) of any potential harm coming to themselves they would cover themselves in feces daily if the media said strong repugnant odors keep away microscopic bugs. And, obviously, never question it because their terror is so deep they can't recognize logic or the absence of anymore. That's how mind control works.
Surely not the ones I would want on my side if things got real. Just too many [censored]-cats in this world. Well, about half of this country. Thank God for the other half.
It's funny. I work at a national laboratory and where I live is a small community where mainly everyone is a research scientist or engineer. At work, you can guess who "doesn't believe in COVID". It's the utility workers, the drivers, security staff. Go figure.
It's obviously inhumane, but I feel like those who espouse view such as yours... Well go right ahead. You guys should get a card or a tattoo to identify yourselves. If you ever show up at a hospital with COVD-related medical issues, you should be promptly denied any care. It would also be nice if we could make a nice little commune for the unvaccinated. I like to think of it as a case-study in vaccine efficacy.
I suppose you see nothing ethically wrong with that, because it's overblown, vaccines don't work, you're healthy and don't need to worry, etc.

Never said I don’t believe in covid. I believe in freedom of choice regarding medical decisions. I’m not anti vaxx either, I just think people shouldn’t be forced to do anything.
As much as this get said, this type of hardline opinion is untenable in an organized society. The fact of the matter is we all draw a line somewhere, of what is up to the individual and what as a collective we will not tolerate. This can be said of abortion, drug/substance use, [censored] work, gambling, capitol punishment, etc.
Given that vaccination has very real impacts beyond the individual but also for society in general, I personally believe that it's not unreasonable to make it a requirement to get vaccinated if you want to participate in non-essential activities. If anything, this should put some of the other debates, especially abortion to rest. The same type of arguments apply, and it's far less harmful to society than COVID, yet it's something social conservatives insist people shouldn't have the freedom to chose.

We all know if it were Ebola people would be losing their gd minds. Obviously COVID is nowhere near as fatal, but it's shown to be highly transmissible. Between the asymptomatic individuals and mild cases, this has only helped to aid in it's ability to spread so effectively. The danger of COVID isn't so much it is incredibly deadly, it's remarkably effective at spreading. In this instance it's all about the quantity rather than quality.

One last thought. Most of that epiphany came from the fact I'm pretty satisfied I outed you and several of your identities.
Something else I was chuckling about as I was running along..how you absolutely melted down when I pointed out a couple catch-phrases several of your profiles have in common. Undeniable. That, was worth the price of admission. And your likely status as a moderator as well.

Unfortunately most that don’t take this seriously until they get it or one of their loved ones get it and has severe long term effects or dies. My father in law acted like nothing was different and would yell at my wife and I to wear a mask when with us. That tune changed unfortunately when he and his wife got Covid. He got a mild case with some breathing issues but it went away after a few weeks. His wife, got double pneumonia, had to go on a ventilator, and died two weeks later. Now he doesn’t screw around with it but it took my wife’s stepmother dying from it to change his view.
Folks laugh about syphilis until they get it. Lot of funny stuff out there that can kill you. Even clowns.
Agreed, any diagnosis of a terminal condition is pretty sobering. But, people are born and then they die. A billion and a half different things that will get them.
Live your life to its fullest in between those 2 points of time.
And who cares who you hurt or kill in the process so you can live your life to the fullest. People should take basic precautions for the safety of everyone. We should be working together to get through this. Then again, I’m learning most only care about themselves and don’t worry about the damage they do to others. They didn’t die from it so it doesn’t concern them. I had a low opinion of humanity before Covid and Covid now it pretty much confirms it. We live in the most selfish society where people don’t care about anything past their nose.
That hokey, corny, beyond belief piece of dung statement "we're all in this together" is just plain propaganda. Because a little over half the country believes the other half are Azzholes. They, for sure, ain't in on anything with the azzholes.

The difference tho is there are plenty of people I think are a-holes but I don't think any of them deserve to die. That has nothing to do with why I got thr vaccine. Me I personally know a very young healthy person who passed away from Covid and also know people who have had to say goodbye to loved ones over zoom. I'm not gonna force anyone to get the vaccine or shame anyone about it but I am gonna make it clear that with me and my wife trying to have a baby noone without the vaccine or has been in contact with someone with covid isn't coming over any time soon. If people want me to respect their decision to not get vaccinated they have to respect my decision to not be around them.
