The real issue is that MLB's rule book is worded poorly. Gerrit Cole may have used SpiderTack, but SpiderTack is not a foreign substance. Spidertack is manufactured in the US, and you can order it from Amazon from Colorado.

Is it really cheating, however, when the whole league knows it and accepts it?
This is a non-issue if Trevor Bauer doesn't go public about it and hammer away at it for a few years.

Wasnt steroids they were using, it was HGH
and testosterone. and you are correct, it wasnt on the banned list when most of these guys used them. but only cause they were new and no one knew about them.
Got on the banned list pretty quick once it was revealed thats what they were doing.
In any event it is cheating cause they used a substance to enhance performance and give an advantage that others didnt have, -

Facts. I bet this gives him a little uptick and Cole gets nastier! He is a real competitor and this will give him some extra motivation. He's been money all year! Only constant this year thats positive for the Yanks.

In any event it is cheating cause they used a substance to enhance performance and give an advantage that others didnt have,HGH isn’t a steroid? Testosterone is a steroid? Yeah you’re right if it’s produced naturally by your body, however what those guys were taking was synthetic and therefore an anabolic steroid. Same goes for Androstinedion and other drugs. What an ignorant statement.

Pine tar is plenty for hitters, spider tac is strong enough to rip skin off your hand. Hitters definitely use things to help their grip but the spider tac, sunscreen and rosin, and pelican grip is a pitcher thing. I’m in college baseball and the use of sticky stuff has been on the rise in the NCAA the last few years too. I remember hearing in 2016 that the University of Florida pitchers were using sun screen and hand sanitizer to help grip. Many pitchers on my team used some sort of sticky stuff too

It was definitely a sarcastic post. Not many seem to catch it. He’s saying that the rule book says they can’t use foreign substances but since spider tack is domestic then Cole didn’t cheat.
