Money grab or not. The fact that there are now tiered perks that can be bought on the marketplace in addition to equipment is very obvious indicator that they are hoping more RTTS Players and DD "Create A Player" user spend stubs on the market to improve their ballplayer.
Is it a requirement? No. But you can also play DD without using the marketplace, but they know that there will be players willing to spend real cash on stubs to shortcut the process by buying diamond equipment and perks off the market instead of waiting to pull them in random packs.
This is not about driving RTTS players to DD. It is about trying to extract more stubs from those players.

this has taken away my 3 prime hours of game time here on the east coast of Australia, Id be fine if this was a once off but every night is becoming so frustrating.

Is the gear on My Ballplayer supposed to add into their overall rating? I seem I stay the same overall with all gear off or all gear on. Gear in RTTS games still doesn’t seem to work either. You can see the +## over each attribute if you look at you player card in the pause menu, but why doesn’t it add into the attribute? My player seems the same in games with it all off or on which is why I believe it doesn’t work. Big disappointment considering how I sunk my stubs into better gear.

The communication on server maintenance has been pretty disappointing.
The shame with the lack of (and poor) communication and server issues is that the game plays SO WELL.
A lack of communication and transparency has once again placed SDS in poor light.
It's amazing how many pitch forks would be put to rest if SDS would simply state:
"The problem(s) is..."
"We are attempting to ... in order to..."
"Our ETA for servers to be running again is __ PST.
[When approaching the ETA window] "Servers will be on and active as the initial ETA stated." Or "We are still taking on server challenges, our ETA is now ___PST."Communication especially when faltering and failing is a key to recovery. We lose in life and competition when we do not properly communicate when the pressure is on.

Awesome patch now I can play RTTS. Now we just need night games in created stadiums and I'm happy.

So progression for archetype now tracks for your Ballplayer in RTTS. However the secondary position issue and no catcher archetype appears to still be unfixed. Also still having the ridiculous appearance bug where every time I go into my Ballplayer loadout and back out it has reverted my equipment appearance back to default (so low socks to high socks, 2 batting gloves to 1, adding the ridiculous rubber arm band etc).
Obviously not as bad as not fixing the secondary position issue or no catcher issue.. but still annoying AF especially when you assume they would fix such a glaring bug in their update with a focus on supposedly fixing Ballplayer issues. -
Equipment stats STILL don't apply to your character within RTTS games -- seriously SDS?
RTTS progression is still broken. Had to put my guy in a DD game to fix it per usual.
The catcher archetype is still completely broken if you put your ballplayer in DD.
Equipment STILL resets when you edit your loadout.
Holy smokes. But don't you guys worry!!!!!!!!!! You can't sim and progress archetypes now -- woo! Glad they fixed that.

Go to create another loadout. None of my equipment shows as at all,
I have several sleeves, a couple of pairs of sunnies - so even if you are only allowed to use an item in one loadout I would still have others unused. But all my loadout slots in my inventory are now blank.
Cards seem ok. Equipment just vanished since the patchGetting really sick of this.

What ever fix went in today did not fix the "Squad Not Found" issue some of us have been having,
13 days now I have been unable to play/use Diamond Dynasty. -
Side note:
What is the point of the other cards that support your archetype card. (the ones you place under and either side)
Yes you can boost Contact or whatever, but in almost all cases you lose more than you gain.
Add 5 to power Vs left and 5 to power Vs right..... Lose 5 to contact Vs left 5 to contact Vs right and 3 to plate vision.
So gain 10...lose 13
Why would anyone bother using these?
No matter which ones you equip - they make your player worse? -
