Had three crashes in one hour since 1.05 dropped. One when my RTTS player was leading off from first, another at game end another waiting to bat. It eventually goes to the "Report to Sony" screen, and the first two times I added some detail and sent it off. Not going to keep repeating that though. Worked fine yesterday. Cannot finish a series since 1.05 dropped. Anyone else struggling?
Yes PS4. I'm over 80 hours into an RTTS player. So I'd rather they fixed it. Also re-starting - What might happen is we re-start - only to get the error at some point 50 hours down the line? This does need a fix.
Random times. Waling up to bat. Taking a lead from first base, end of an innings. Freeze 1 minute wait Blue screen "Report this bug to Sony?"
Gone from 61.3 (thereabouts - looking at the circle thing) to about 61.7 in an entire afternoon and evening's play. (100 plus games. All of them played - Zero simulated) Gone from May to season end 2022 and gained about 0.4 of a point of overall. Hitting at well over 400. Very close to 100% fielding (only one error I can remember) stealing bases, skill ups between series whenever they are offered. Got one piece of equipment that is inferior to the pieces I already have. My XP (even though it is supposedly DOUBLE XP) has taken me from halfway through level 12 to halfway through level 13 Not getting anything meaningful in the way of rewards, not getting any meaningful advancement in XP, not getting any meaningful gains in skills.
Not sure why I'm bothering to play to be honest.
Is it because I need to start again with a fresh "save" made after the patch dropped? Because this is seriously seriously dull (Played every MLB the Show since PS2 including PS Vita iterations so I know what this is normally like to the tune of many thousands of hours play time)
This game is messed up beyond belief,
It's so slow it feels like I'm imagining progression. If RTTS isn't broken. It's doing a very good job of feeling like it's broken
They might as well have said Road to the Show Card Battling Rogue Like Turning your base stealing, tip and run speedster Into a hulking, slow homer hitting plodder
By swapping out some cards, choosing a different bat and changing your sunglasses?
That's not just immersion breaking. That's taking immersion outside and spending half an hour battering it with a diamond tipped jack hammer until no-one could recognise it was immersion in the first place. That's MLB "Sims dress up room" Hard to believe any developer that understands their fan base would have done this to their own game. Unless it is for the money of course...
You restart in name only. In terms of stats and progression - you can't change anything. It's like "My Little Pony Dress Up" game. If you want to go from a slow moving slugger who plays first base or DH To a fleet footed gap finding base stealing defensive monster. Change your cards and swap your sunglasses, bat and hat between games. You know - like a small child's first dress up game on their Nintendo handheld. You don't progress. You choose the right outfit. How the mighty have fallen.
I won Cy Young and had a batting average 1st in the team at 4.05.(Almost .140 higher than the next closest) Most home runs 51 (18 more than the next closest) and second in RBI's (Didn't count towards awards because I hadn't got enough plate appearances being a 2 way player) Dropped for the playoffs. Not even on the roster.
Adding as I play Progress is still painfully slow. 90 minutes and I haven't moved a quarter of one unit. I was 62.3 (ish) and now, 30 games on I'm about 60.5? I've not hit a home run for about 2 months. I made another "Slugger" profile. Equipped the Slugger archetype cards - and have had a few "perfect perfect" as well as some very close shaves. Not even nearly hit a home run. Been awarded one piece of equipment which I suppose is Ok. It's worse than the stuff I already had so not an improvement - but at least I got one. Not getting any throw accuracy points. Thought the game was not showing them until I mis threw (finger slipped off the button) and I was deducted 2. Realised I have NEVER been awarded any throwing points No practice sessions? Are these out of the game now?
I did get my equipment back when I logged out and back in again. I don't know what's going on there. Just a feeling that RTTS is about as broken as it was before the patch. Maybe different bugs - but still have no confidence.
In third year of playing CF. Hitting .380+ with an OBP of well over 400. More home runs than the next two players in my team combined. Still in AAA. Might have to play some Diamond Dynasty (which I find as boring as watching paint dry) to get some better cards and gear. I think it's my overall rating that is holding me back not my playing stats. For some reason my manager rests me every other game. it's not a platoon situation. Righty for righty. The guy he replaces me with hits about .225 and has 3 home runs for the season to date (compared to my 25+).and has an inferior defensive record. He does have a much higher durability. I'm still at base level and he s on about 44. But man - attribute increases are SOOOO SLOOOW I've only been training those that actually improve my stats the most. Played MLBTS since PS2. Enjoyed most iterations though RTTS on Vita used to crash and was never fixed. But beside those poorly coded Vita versions - I've enjoyed every game. But getting really cheesed-off with the game this year. As an RTTS only player It is not fun at all
@joshjays44_psn said in Any other Pure Analog Hitters Out There?:
Pure Analog Stride hitting is always the way to go when playing The Show, it seems more natural and doesn't involve aiming at a target like its Duck Hunt or button mashing X like its a baseball game from the 90s. Its an actual swing of a baseball bat but I'm sure you know that already, its just that causal PCI noobs don't understand that. But to get to your question..no, once you practice for a while and play about 20 games you'll get a feel for the hitting and you'll realize when you hit a high fly ball or hit into a double play its your fault...don't be discourage like a casual noob, just keep practicing and take swings and it will all come together.
Yawn
There's a long thread about this. They have said they will fix it. So far we "think" we know
As someone who never got through half a season in RTTS on any Vita version. (None of which was ever fixed) I'm conscious that the developers may leave this error unfixed if too few people report it. Sony (and maybe MS) will put pressure on the devs if they keep receiving error reports for the same game that they sell via their online store.
Again. We "think" we know.
I sometimes get a guy in the dugout with a squashed/malformed head. the face is offset below the nose by about half a head's width I think? I didn't screengrab it. That's as well as the pure white mannequin heads. Pretty sure both of those things didn't happen before 1.05
Seems freeze/crash only occurs in RTTS and only when a player is a batter, and only when they make MLB level. I've tried all sorts of other games and modes to get it to crash. I can play in the minors right up until I get promoted to MLB. I can play Diamond Dynasty games and tried that and a few others. When I go back to RTTS with my MLB save it freeze/crashes during one of the first 2 or 3 games. When I progress from AAA to MLB with another player it plays fine until I get to MLB, then it crashes. If I stay in AA or AAA it plays fine

Thanks for all the reports. We're aware and working to get a fix out asap.
Any idea of time scale? Before next week? Keen to get back into the game if I can
Since the last update my bench staff, manager and whoever. Are like mannequins. Pure white faces. No texture or tone. Even white eyes and white eyelids. Players seem Ok. Creepy
My first save was fine through the minors. Started crashing my first series in the Majors. Latest one started after my manager had a chat with me about "We're keeping an eye on you" Which might be a hidden promotion step? Just thinking out loud?

I was experiencing the same issues every second or third series. Here is the solution that has worked for me so far. I created a new season and renamed the save to have a fresh save file. Deleted all other RTTS save files in file management and then went back to the newly created one. I then removed all equipment from my CAP and resaved with zero equipment. Then reloaded all equipment back on my CAP and again resaved. I have not had a crash since and I have made it clear to the majors where I have played about 8-10 series without crash. I am not sure what step actually fixed it but I hope this helps. Thanks man. A good tip. Hopefully the properly fix it sooner rather than later - but at least you can play if you start again. It didn't last... Back to square one.

Same here. Just played most of May in AA (Again) Froze with me on second base. Waited 30 seconds then blue screen "Do I want to send an error report to Sony?"
No - already done it multiple time today. So no thanks.
Quit and will not be coming back to the game any time soon.
On it's own it's a flat no. In comparison with previous years it's a "NO"
I've re-started by ballplayer for the 4th time now due to errors and crashes. Lost progress, then lost equipment now after 1.05 i get freeze/crash about every 2nd or 3rd game. Often having to replay whole series - only for it to happen again. I've decided this is the last time I try. Life's too short and there are too many other good games to keep dealing with this. As I've got zero interest in online play, I'll go back to to '20 if I play The Show again this year - If I play at all. And, despite owning every single game in this franchise going back to the PS2, including Vita - Next year I'm going to give serious thought to not buying next year's game. They really messed up this year.
