RTTS Feedback Blog Post

Also my equipment stats don’t carry over to the field. Plus I can’t customize my equipment. For instance I’ll change my batting gloves to both hands and save. Then when I’m up to bat it always goes back to one hand..

I thought this was a joke until I actually checked it out for myself. It's real under "News"
-
For those that would like to look this up themselves it is listed under "News" on MLB The Show 21's main Twitter account. I am not one of the developers or designers who wrote the news feed so please don't post any questions for me to answer.
-
Updated the thread to point to the blog post.

This all sounds great to me. Hopefully the future update fixing the bugs with progression isn't too far out.
-
I feel like I was just told “sorry-not-sorry” by the game devs. Having my Road to the Show player capped until I participate in Diamond Dynasty is absolutely unacceptable.

That’s the complete opposite of what it says.

Couple things they left out where mentioned above but just to add I also see that gear isn’t adding in to My Ballplayer OVR and that customization of gear constantly gets reverted. Like two batting gloves or compression sleeves on both arms. Color changes at least seem to stick as far as I can tell. It is annoying that I bought gear and perks off market and not sure if the stats even work in game. The profile system changes between games in series doesn’t change right and of course the did at least address the broken archetype progression. That progression issue should be a hot fix quickly as it’s limiting most if not all enjoyment in RTTS right now.
Last but not least I hope our pitchers get some path to learn that 4th and 5th pitch at some point.

It is a small detail, but I would like to see the ability to choose “secondary positions” return in player creation. If they insist on keeping the two-way player permanent, that’s fine. But if secondary positions could read SP, INF (for example), I would be thrilled! I fear my self chosen approach to playing as a utility bench player will no longer be an option. Stupid, I know.

Why is it a future update? You have know that this mode essentially cannot be played at the moment since early access began. It is still unplayable at launch. Why do we have to wait for a vague “future update”? If your game mode does not work you should make sure it does by launch.
-
Basically I also feel like the blog post says a very nice version of "sorry, not sorry". This is release day, and basically RTTS is totally broken at this time based only on what the devs actually say. This quote is taken from the blog post linked above "a RTTS player should feel like they can freely progress by playing RTTS and only RTTS"
Is that true right now? No, it's absolutely and completely not true right now. You simply cannot earn progression points towards your archetype by playing RTTS right now.
So... thanks for admitting that your game is broken on release date. Good job!

What's crazy is that even if the mode was working properly like they intended this statement would still be untrue lmao

First of all game wasn't broke @ launch. It didn't break until first update.
Second, how ironic you complain b/c they say sorry and they are looking into it, instead of saying ty for giving us an update. If you guys are that ungrateful then do us all a favor and uninstall and find another forum to be salty in.

you do realize that them developing the game isnt like they are doing us a favor right? People pay money for the game to work and they pay extra for early access. If the game doesnt work the way it should during that early access then SDS hasnt lived up on their end. This idea that we should be so grateful for them to just do their job is ridiculous

Right now I'm going back to 2020. I'll pick up 2021 again after the update. Going forward I won't be buying The Show without a test run of the game first. Feels like I just wasted $100 on a game I'm not going to play.

@GrizzBear55_PSN - you the same Grizz that's been posting here for years man? Just wondering...
Uhmm... no disrespect man, but today is launch day. Meaning public initial release date. Don't believe me - no worries - do a google search "mlb the show 21 launch date".
Just saying - today is launch date. This mode is broken, by the measure of the very words posted by the dev team in that blog post. You cannot progress your RTTS player by playing RTTS and only RTTS. And no, I'm not feeling like I'm being ungrateful. I payed a solid $85 for the Jackie Robinson Edition. It's not an unreasonable expectation for me that I expect for $85 that SDS deliver a working game in one of the primary game modes on release date.
No disrespect to you personally man - but if you can't see that aspect of it then frankly i think you've spent a bit to much time as a SDS fanboi.

First of all it is broken at launch. Today is launch day. It is broken. It did not work since Friday so it was essentially broken at launch of early access as well. Second, I am complaining because one of their key game modes is all but unplayable. Anyone that paid money for this game to play RTTS is out of luck because it is so broken. The fact that that is still true on official launch day is unacceptable. I am not going to thank them for some vague future update when the game should never have been released if a large portion of you player base cannot play their at release.

You do realize i've read your logic in other posts therefore not inclined to begin to have a intelligent convo with you because you simply don't know how to.

Not sure how you can say that when Ive explained every one of my points. now if you just dont agree thats different. thats not me being unable to have an intelligent convo. Also a lot of your posts just come off as dismissive of peoples complaints which doesn't seem like the most intelligent way to have a convo. food for thought.
