PS4 to PS5 Standard Edition

Your options:
A. Buy one of the Jackie versions now (for 85/100).
B. Buy a PS4 regular version now (60) and assume they put the PS5 version on sale later in the year (Black Friday?) (30).I'd buy the Jackie version now, but you do you.

If you buy the 85 dollar Jackie version, you get both the PS4 and PS5 game for 85 bucks.
Sorry, but I have to repeat myself: to buy Jackie Robinson Edition or Digital Deluxe isn't an option to me. I don't need those stubs and packs-garbage.

Doesn't matter if you need them or not. You don't have to even look at them. It will be cheaper to get the Jackie version than buying two seperate games. Do what you want though man

Why should someone buy the same game 2 times?
Is it for sure that San Diego Studios act not like all the other companies and you have to buy the same game twice or are you guessing that?

You got your answer. If you want both versions in case you get a PS5 down the line, the $85 version is your best bet. It doesn't matter if it also has packs you won't use. It's the most cost efficient way to own both versions. If you would rather spend $60 now to get a PS4 version and another $70 later on to get the PS5 version if you ever track down a console, that's your call. Of course, you could also just play the PS4 version on the PS5. It will look slightly better than it did on PS4, but it won't have stadium creator and won't be the best version.

I don't know when it's possible to buy a PS5 to me. Sony don't get their sh*t together and couldn't produce enough. If I buy the PS4 Standard Version and get a PS5 in Octobre (so god and Sony wants) have I to pay the whole price again? If I see it correct the stadium editor isn't part of PS4 Edition.
To buy Jackie Robinson Edition or Digital Deluxe isn't an option to me. I'm playing 95% of the time RTTS and don't need those pay to win-packs and virtual currency.
Lol @ thread!
First- Not Sony's fault Covid hit and slowed production down world wide.
Second - This game is nowhere near pay to win.
Sounds like your mad mommy said NO to $100.00 game! Go shovel snow or mow yards kid!

That's disrespectful. It doesn't concern you, but I'm a man in my forties, my mom is dead and money isn't a problem. But I don't want to spend more than I need to. This game costs 84.99 EUR as Jackie Robinson Edition. That's 101,17 USD or 99,99 EUR as Digital Editon (119 USD). Either way I'll pay more than you for the same thing.

It's stated on the purchase. The basic game comes only with the ps4 version or the ps5 version. To get the ps4 version now and ps5 later you have to buy the higher ones regardless if you need the stubs or packs or not. That's how they are selling it.
I think the 2nd step up is only 20 bucks more isn't it? So spend the 20 now so you don't have to do it later for full price or if you can get it at reduced cost. Seems simple enough

Funny how people talk down to you in a thread you flip out yet this is exactly what you just did here.

But jumping gun and making thread blaming Sony for not having systems available due to Covid is somehow respectful? If your thread didn't come across as a bash Sony thread i never wouldv'e said those things.
But it came across as a little kid throwing tantrum b/c of price. With a little sony's fault blah blah blah or pay to win blah blah blah type read. That's why i responded the way i did b/c it wasn't based off facts.

Here's your solution: wait until the ps5's come out lol.
You will only have to purchase one game and you won't have to purchase the one with extra packs and stubs. your welcome.
-
It is 15 bucks more to get both versions. If you cannot get a PS5 until last part of the year the game will probably be down to around 20 bucks or so. Might even make it available on PSN again, who knows. But i would just pay the extra 15 in case you score a PS5 this summer or whatever. Then you can use the extra goodies it gives right away and just transfer progress. it is al up to you though. Do understand the frustration though.

Figure out what is best for you, Another option would be just buy the PS4 Version and then down the road if you do get a PS5 purchase a used version. If you are buying digital version of PS5 then spend the extra for the Robinson version. It is possible that the PS5 game will not go on sale at the end of the year.

I'm not sure if by "digital version of PS5" you are referring to the game or console, so I just want to clarify something.
If you buy a physical Jackie Robinson edition of the game, it cannot be used on a digital PS5. That edition does come with a digital PS5 game code, but you must have the PS4 disc in the console in order to authenticate. Anyone who thinks they may end up with a digital PS5 console should stick with digital versions of the games so they will run on it.

I am was talking about if you plan on buying the digital version of the PS5 console, then you should buy the digital version of the game and spend the extra cash for the deluxe. I pre ordered the deluxe version and plan on buying the digital PS5 at some point this year when I can get one.

If you aren't that concerned with the create a stadium and probably better graphics/fps of the PS5 version, you can still use the PS4 version on a PS5, you likely just won't have all the extra features that are in the PS5 version. Just get the standard and if you can score a PS5 somewhat soon you can still use that version for your playstyle on the new console.
If you really want the create a stadium feature as you mentioned, then you could just buy the version that gives you both entitlements so you don't have to buy the PS5 version later in the year. (even if just on sale, it will likely be at least $25 to upgrade unless you find a decent sale when you get the PS5 version.)
Personally, I'd just buy the Jackie version now, and if you have to sell something to cover that price difference I'd just do that instead of waiting until later in the year to buy the game again. -
