Is this better or worse than guaranteed rate field? Any other parks in the running for worst name?

Great Idea: LIST TIME!!!!!

  1. loadDepot park - Lower case letters are stupid.
#29..Globe Life Field - Reusing a corporate name is stupid.
#28. American Family Field - pretending you didn't spend the last 20 years named after a beer is stupid.
#27. Truist Park - renaming yourself after only a year is stupid.
#26. RingCentral Colliseum - renaming yourself over and over and over is stupid.
#25. Progressive Field - replacing a perfectly good name with a terrible insurance company is stupid.
#24. Guarantee Rate Field - replacing a pretty average name with a terrible mortgage company is stupid.
#23. Chase Field - Getting rid of your old name and its interesting acronym (BOB) is stupid.
#22. CitiField - Naming yourself after a terrible bank (that helped to exacerbate the 2009 financial meltdown) is stupid.
#21. Comerica Park - Naming yourself after a terrible bank is stupid.
#20. Citizens Bank Park - naming yourself after a terrible bank is stupid.
#19. PNC Park - naming yourself after a terrible bank is stupid.
#18. Busch Stadium - throwing the old stadium name on the new building is stupid.
#17. Yankee Stadium - throwing the old stadium name on the new building is stupid.
#16. Great American Ballpark - Corporate names (even if they are cutesy) are stupid.
#15. Wrigley Field - Corporate names (even if it's been so long, nobody thinks of it as such) are stupid.
#14. Tropicana Field - corporate names (even if orange juice is awesome) are stupid.
#13. Minute Maid Park - corporate names (even if the juice is better than Tropicana) are stupid.
#12. T-Mobile Park - corporate names (even if the company just gave me a free subscription to mlb.tv) are stupid.
#11. Coors Field - corporate names (even if we're technically marketing alcohol to minors) are stupid.
#10. Oracle Park - corporate names (even on a picturesque park) are stupid.
#9. Target Field - corporate names are stupid.
#8. Petco Park - what did I just say?
#7. Rogers Centre - corporate names (if if they did Canadianize it) are stupid.
#6. Angel Stadium - naming the park after the team is boring.
#5. Nationals Park - naming the park after the team is boring.
#4. Dodger Stadium - naming the park after the team is boring.
#3. Oriole Park at Camden Yards - naming the park after the team is boring.
    #2. Kauffman Stadium - okay, I guess.
    #1. Fenway Park - okay, I guess.

These sponsored park names are so embarrassing sometimes, and as horrible venue names go, this isn’t far behind KFC Yum! Center. If Jeter is going to whooore out the integrity of his team so easily like this, at least he should be honest and wear stiletto pumps, a mini skirt and stand under a red light during any meetings with season ticket holders. I thought the whole point of having enough money is that you don’t need to debase your team like this?

What would you rename each of the stadiums, or (maybe more fun) what are you going to name your stadium(s)?

SDS

Does OP not realize majority of the sports stadiums (in the US anyway idk about other countries) are named after corporate sponsors? I enjoy the sponsor names tbh, but Milwaukee got a baaaaaaaaaaad deal. Miller Park was perfect. Thatz like Coors being changed to "Loaf n Jugg field"

Corporate sponsors is for sure a business move. I would even go as far to say and i could be mistaken, but when stadium gets built initially whoever it is named after is probabally big contributor of construction cost. A tax write off for sponsor.

If renamed after built pretty sure a contract is in place for certain amount of funds needs to be donated for Maintenance purposes.

You never find a vendor that sells another brand of beer @ Coors Field. I think there is one bar @Coors field that has variety mostly micro brews i think but everywhere else in stadium is coors or coors light.

OP realizes that. OP doesn't care.

Non corporate names are always better than corporate names. Always. And we should hold the line to make sure MLB doesn't follow the NBA into on-uniform ads.

SDS

The worst name change of all time for a stadium arena(even if it is a new arena) has to go to the detroit Pistons. Going from the Palace of Auburn Hills to freaking little Caesar's arena is just terrible

Lol @ hold the line? Ordinary fans against big money sponsors and owners? How do you propose we do that? Without the sponsors your city tax rate could go from 8% to 25% no thank you let big dogs spend money on nice stadiums i'm cool with dumb names if means lower taxes.

SDS

Turning into NASCAR. "Shout out to Maypax for that Perfect Perfect Dong in the 9th."

SDS

"You are looking LIVE at CarMax Field at Anheiser Busch Stadium Presented by TD Ameritrade."
