Worried for the future of RTTS

SDS

The first ten years or so that I bought this game I did it to play RTTS 100% of the time. I enjoyed building an all 99 beast. Then they introduced carryover saves and I considered it the best feature that the game had released. Then came the ability to play an entire series without the need to go back to the RTTS menu between every game. Brilliant. Then a few years later things went south.

They introduced the stupid storylines. It was so scripted that it was not fun. Position player? Expect to be asked to swap positions. Starter? Expect to be put in the pen. Have a great game as a pitcher and be treated to the same cutscene visit from the pitching coach after every outing.

Oh, and that first year you could not even choose your own team at all.

Then came archetypes no longer could you build your 99 beast unless you were willing to visit the market and use those stubs on some diamond equipment.

Now they have removed the year to year saves. Hopefully it is just for one year but I wonder. You can now apparently bring your RTTS player over to DD so they don't want you to have a 99 beast on day one because you carried over from the previous season. Maybe they can program around that in future versions and re-add carryover saves.

RTTS without carry over saves is a non-starter for me. I don't want to play the first 4 to 5 seasons of my RTTS player every single year. I assume that the franchise players feel the same.

SDS

I'm pretty sure it will be uploaded from the cloud

I’m willing to bet my PS5 that carryover saves will be back in 2022.

One way to look at it is this: when you’re renovating the kitchen you strip it down to nothing so you can start from scratch because over time changes are made (eg new faucets, bench tops are all scratched, replacement dishwasher, a couple of cupboard handles may not match the rest...)

Eventually what you have after many years may be functional but may have some limitations with all of the band aids you’ve used so you’re going to want to start from scratch again to have a great modern kitchen.

Carry over save files (the data) are like the kitchen. What the game looked like back in 2014 in terms of data is very different to what 2021-2027 needs in order to modernise the game and take it into the next generation of consoles and the opportunities they present.

While carry over May return, no way they let you use a carried player in DD

I don’t know about that - a lot of users will be starting off with a diamond player anyway, maybe they’re giving the green light on the CAP going forward. I guess we’ll find out this week.

I never understood the community fascination with the "99 beast".

I didn't really get it in previous years either but now that the player is tied to dd, I get it

SDS

I like what they did this year so i will be playing more than i have in a long time!

SDS

I play multiple sport games, not sure if everyone here does. But this is like NBA 2k, which allows you to carry over your player from career mode to what's called MyTeam. If your player becomes good enough in your career mode " 99 beast". I'm guessing like 2k it'll give your player a very high rating such as 90 to 94

SDS

They have monetized RTTS and incorporated it into DD. There is no way they will let you carry over your RTTS show guys, for the same exact same reason they dont let you carry over your DD team... $$$$$$$

It isn't monetized. False statement! ^^^^^^

SDS

We don't want the mode to be connected to DD. People in DD will never use the " Ballplayer " anyway. We can only make one player which can get stale very fast. The loadouts aren't very fun just let us progress our player as we play. What is so bad about gaining attributes by playing RTTS? Forced to be online to play is also a baffling decision so when the servers go off in 2 years the mode will be completely unplayable if you go to revisit the game or keep playing it. Also can't play when your servers go out or when our internet goes out. The progression system isn't very good when it works which it doesn't most of the time unfortunately. You are forced to play DD to progress your player currently because that is the only way the " programs " will track missions and stats. Also every time you go into loadouts it glitches out your gear and you have to switch everything back. Like it will give you just one batting glove put the foot guard back on forced sunglasses on always instead of when just fielding and much more including swing types when you have a built stance it can be very frustrating to have to fix it just because you went to the loadout screen to check " programs " progress. So please SDS just make RTTS like you used to for next years game. We want to be able to make multiple characters, not be connected to DD, and just gain attributes from playing not this " perk/architype " system.

SDS

What did they do with the sliding? A lot has changed since 19. The cameras all screwed up when i slide and goes all over confusing the whole situation. Just slide for crying out loud lol.

And playing CF i can't look around with the Analog settings pre pitch. And i used to like after a hit hearing the chatter from the first base coach. That's now gone, at least on the Xbox port.

The thing with the Show, is they always seem to change things that don't need changing.

You can create more than one RTTS player, just hit square over RTTS on the main menu. Also, forced to play online? You sure about that?

It is forced to play online if you want progression. If the servers go out you don't get any program progression.

No you can't create more than one player you would have to change your " ballplayer" every time you want to play a different career without using the same name and face. and yes forced online you can't gain progression towards " programs " without being connected online. Have you actually played the mode? When the servers go out you can't earn perks which you need to play the mode.....

They successfully broke something that was fun and working and made it really bad!!!

They said in the feature premiere that they noticed we had more than one RTTS players and made it so we could have only one thay does it all..

No one thought that we had more than one player because... We wanted more than one player...
