We don't want the mode to be connected to DD. People in DD will never use the " Ballplayer " anyway. We can only make one player which can get stale very fast. The loadouts aren't very fun just let us progress our player as we play. What is so bad about gaining attributes by playing RTTS? Forced to be online to play is also a baffling decision so when the servers go off in 2 years the mode will be completely unplayable if you go to revisit the game or keep playing it. Also can't play when your servers go out or when our internet goes out. The progression system isn't very good when it works which it doesn't most of the time unfortunately. You are forced to play DD to progress your player currently because that is the only way the " programs " will track missions and stats. Also every time you go into loadouts it glitches out your gear and you have to switch everything back. Like it will give you just one batting glove put the foot guard back on forced sunglasses on always instead of when just fielding and much more including swing types when you have a built stance it can be very frustrating to have to fix it just because you went to the loadout screen to check " programs " progress. So please SDS just make RTTS like you used to for next years game. We want to be able to make multiple characters, not be connected to DD, and just gain attributes from playing not this " perk/architype " system.
@aj102404_xbl said in Well you guys ruined the mode that I started playing MLB The Show for.:
Try franchise with player lock, you can start out as a 99 beast or languish in the minors as long as you like. You also can start out with 5 pitches and a knuckleball.
I have a better idea lets go back and play last years RTTS instead
The mode was absolutely butchered in MLB The Show 21. So many problems and I don't think they can be fixed for this years game. With that being said for my MLB The Show 22 RTTS Wishlist is this.
Yeah same greatly disappointed that DD integration is holding back the RTTS experience in many forms. Looks like I'll have to go back to MLB The Show 20 on RTTS hopefully they fix this for next years
Where do I start? Road To The Show is unplayable. You can't earn progress at all even the diamond dynasty method wont work for me which I shouldn't have to do in the first place. So 1 mode is just broken. You can't download rosters from the vault you get an error every time regardless of which roster you try. With that not working Franchise isn't as good as the base roster is terrible and incorrect with tons of errors on age and more. The servers don't work half the time or more making DD very difficult to play for the people that do. Stadium Creator vault has no search option you have to scroll through thousands and thousands of pages. So let me get this straight 1 mode is unplayable 1 mode is unenjoyable because of the roster and lack of vault download ability.1 mode is very difficult to play because of servers.. so 3 of the 4 modes don't work properly and the biggest addition doesn't have a search option. This is so sad that the gameplay is pretty good from what I've played but the rest of the game is so broken that you can't enjoy it.
Going on just about 2 Weeks now for MLB The Show 21 and we still have no fixes for RTTS progression, Roster Vaults, Stadium Vault search option, and servers in general not working half the time. When is the patch coming?
@edile_xbl said in Update 3 Progression Fixes:
yea does any one know if they have fixed it yet
Yes I did a training pre patch and was barley getting 1 point towards something if that when my rating was in the 30's. Now post patch I got plus 3 to durability and plus 2 speed from just one training session
I've had this happen multiple times in RTTS pre and post patch. I have no injury and am playing really well but for some reason my player will sit 4 straight games? Then I will play for a couple then sit 4 straight days again... I am at the AA level and have silver level Loadout across the board and am in season 1 but just something seems off about it like it shouldn't happen

Hi, i recently saw a post that said that the equipment were broken, but i wonder does it mean it don't show up either, because i bought some gold rarity glasses, and they are not on my guy in game Thanks for any kind of help
Also if you pitch it will auto take them off as pitchers can't have eye black or sunglasses when pitching
@raadush_psn said in How does it work when I want more than one RTTS player?:
Hi, I havent played this mode since I am waiting for the patch that maybe solve some problems with RTTS. But I wonder how this is supposed to work: Lets say I create new player. He is like 55 overall. I will play with him for 10 seasons and make him a MLB superstar. In that process, I will upgrade all relevant player programs, so I will have diamond style (dont know how it is called, that main thing you get player program xp in) and diamond perks. Now I want to create new rookie, but thanks to that diamond perks all over the place, he will start in AA with like 80 overall stats, no? Isn't it breaking immersion in this mode that you will crush all minor leaguers without any challenge?

Tbh the only way you can have a true different character is to have multiple PSN accounts... if you are okay with having the same face on all of your players then you can start a second one and progress with a different "program"
@buddyhightower_xbl said in How does it work when I want more than one RTTS player?:
They shouldn't have combined RTTS with DD. If anything, they should have connected it to franchise mode.
They shouldn't have connected it to anything it was literally fine the way it was

The premise of the patch was to make some updates based on RTTS issues as well as items related to custom leagues. These two being tied to the database issues they are having. Sorry that I can't find the link. If I do, I'll repost it here. Even if it's two weeks from now, it WILL come. If they don't patch the roster vault issue in the first patch then they are going to have problems What kind of problems would "they" have? I can see us having a continuation of the problem. Who knows, maybe roster vault fix will be a new feature in MLBTS 22?

They would have what happened with Madden and its PR nightmare over franchise.
@moosealbany_psn said in RTTS Durability:
It's not impossible to raise, but it does go up slowly. You need to discipline yourself to put your trains into things that raise the durability attribute. There's one option which raises durability + speed, another which raises durability + clutch, and another that raises just durability. So far, my observation is that each time you get a training opportunity you will get at least one option for durability. My furthest advanced RTTS guy in 2021 is a "sparkplug" SS. I've played him 1.8 seasons (calendar date is mid-August 2022 on his career). Every single training opportunity, I've forced myself to spend on something which raises durability. Also, as I've raised up I've upgraded the archetype from copper to silver to gold and recently to diamond. Right now, my durability is 91 of which 45 is due to archetype boosts and 46 is base. So I've raised my base from 30 to 46. Anyway, hope this helps - stick with it man. IMO, durability is the first thing you should raise if your playing any RTTS career other than speedster. With speedster, always select the base stealing drills if available (fairly rare) and then durability is your back-up. IMO a lot of players make a mistake by raising things like CON and PWR first and then get pissed off that they are sitting so much despite leading the team in multiple statistical categories.

Thanks good to know it goes up with the archetype levels. I just got the progression to start tracking finally so I restarted my RTTS and was very concerned that you start with such low durability. I was sitting like 3 of the 6 games series. I'll definitely be raising it every chance I get

I definitely save a lot of money. No Sounds of the Show (default music is always terrible) No Y2Y Saves. (Been Playing since 18) The menu's are a mess. and why is there an extra innings rule I can't turn off Especially on the simulation settings I too had a KN pitcher. He was fun to play as. You actually can turn off the extra innings rule I believe before the start of Franchise it gives you the option So Do I need to start a franchise team then? I just think it's weird how I have the settings on Simulation, and it turned that on for me.

Yeah at the start of franchise after you select your team at the very bottom of options under the Designated Hitter rule is the Extra Inning Runner. So you can turn it off but it has to be before you start your franchise.
