I don't like to think theres scripting, but sometimes this game makes it hard to think otherwise.

I'll go on a nice little run of 5, 6, maybe 7 wins in a row where I feel like I'm locked in, and then all of a sudden I'll go on an exact opposite streak where everything I hit is right at my opponents players, every little bloop falls in for them, and I can't seemingly buy a break. It feels like no matter what I do in these games theres no chance.
I can't be the only one.
-
I mean, that must mean your 5,6,7 game wins in a row are also scripted no? It can't only be when your opponent is getting every break?
-
I feel some games are going to go a certain way from the outset, and I think all of us have seen those where everything we seem to square up is warning track or has too much air under it....

I agree, because I've certainly won games I had no business winning lol.

I get what you're saying, and don't get me wrong I am well aware that I have had my fair share of bloops and games I've been able to squeak out a win where I probably shouldn't. Everyone gets bloops here and there, but I feel like if I'm on a solid run it happens against me way more often than if I'm just playing ok. I'm curious if other people feel the same way.
As a side note, I remember years ago (might have been all the way back in 15 or even earlier) playing RTTS. I wanted try and actually play enough to make the HoF and wanted an easy experience, so I played on rookie and adjusted all my sliders. Obviously I crushed the ball and broke just about every record imaginable, but everytime I had a lengthy consecutive games hitting streak it would get noticeably much more difficult for weeks on end until finally I want 0-the day with my player. Next game everything was back to super easy. The point of that story is that at some point scaling was coded into the game, and while I don't necessarily believe it still is (nor that it ever was implemented for online, and if it was it was likely just an attempt to get you to upgrade your team, not make it fair) it just sometimes feels like this game is against you no matter what you do.

I guess my 68-19 RS record is rng/scripted right? While I understand your frustration it just seems like the same tired rant that you here in these forums. Sorry bud it’s not scripted it’s called confidence. If you’re able to get your pitcher to a high level of confidence those so called scripted moments will be mitigated.

I think you're in the wrong spot. I'm pretty sure r/humblebrag is where you meant to post this.....

Clearly September 5th through September 14th were scripted.

You were the one complaining, not me. I was just refuting your rant by using my own personal record as an example. I don’t claim to be a great top 50 player, I do however believe that what you described is not an example of the game being scripted.

The G.O.A.T. has tagged me. I'm #blessed fam. You should all be jealous of me and my status now. Don't look at me plebs.

And that is absolutely a fine stance to take, I'm not sure if it's scripting, or it's just the game is too random, but it's something. I just get annoyed at the posts that only focus on the losing. It's basically taking the stance "I win because I'm good, I lose because the game is fixed"

I think the game is designed to keep things close for prolonged player interest. I think that includes keeping the average player’s record at or around .500. For sure there are good players with winning records and poor players with losing records, but it’s pretty much a bell curve, to me.

So what you’ve just pointed out would be the argument that it’s not scripted. Good players have good records. Average players have average records ie as many wins as losses. And bad players have losing record. Not sure bell curve is the right term. A bell curve suggest a singular event which you’re trying to quantify, not a bunch of random events which cannot be quantified.

I honestly don't think if the population of the game did form a bell curve, that it would be weird or out of place, I would say that's pretty normal, why would there be an over abundance of either bad or good players? Most would fall somewhere in the middle
-
I would say this game is scripted swing by swing. Not game by game.
One player with more power can hit a fly out. While the next batter with less power will get the same exact pci placement on the same pitch and it’s a HR -

Yeah, I agree. I just happen to think that there is programming in the game designed around that idea of the “average” player. “Scripted” is maybe not the right word, but the gameplay is far from transparent and neutral and I’d be surprised if anyone argued that.

My opinion is if the connection is off weird sh happens if not not it works how it's intended.

Breaks go both ways but very few people remember when they're on the positive side of variance.
