It has always been a trend for some people to back out of games as soon as they realise they're the away team. That's okay I guess, I understand if you're about to play a big RS game or if you're in a deep BR run that you prefer home advantage.
But now people back out if the rating slider in BR doesn't end up low enough before finding a matchup, scared they'll face a good player. People back out if I select the top pitcher in my rotation. It's getting ridiculous, I'm only 7-0 and I've been looking for a game for about 20 minutes now. Just play bro.

I’ve never gone 12-0 in BR. I made to 10-0 a couple of times but ended up 11-2 twice. I’ll take any old [censored] game until I get to about 7-8 wins and no losses. Then I’ll start to do exactly what you’re complaining about. Trying to cherry pick opponents based on various factors. Now, in my opinion, the games to quit are the ones where they zoom up and down the lineup, checking for any lag and to see if they’re the away team or home team. If I’m 9-0 and you start doing that, I’m backing out. Why? Well you’re clearly experienced enough to understand the game and what benefits you. That doesn’t benefit me at all. Laggy at line up screen? I’m backing out. That’s never good.
Basically, the ideal game is someone who just hits X on their pitcher and start at the line up screen. If I’m 9-0, the rating bar expanded beyond 1500-2400 or whatever and you don’t bother checking if the games laggy or if you’re the away team before you spam through the pre game screens, I probably won’t get a better match up based on all known evidence. You don’t get much to go on, but if you can gain an edge in any way, rather than face a guy like RaesONE or worse, you have to do it. Especially if you’re a couple of wins from Chipper. Sorry you’re getting pissed off trying to find a game because of it though, lol.

Yeah I hear your argument and I cherry pick for home games as well when I'm either 10-0 or 11-0, but literally I'm sitting here and people back out when the slider is below 1200, without even checking the line up screen for lag. Now I know my slider doesn't have to be the same as theirs, but if I'm 7-0 already I can confidently say that their slider is somewhat similar to mine or lower.

I watched someone (you know who, not mentioning names) sit for an hour and a half looking for a BR game while using a gaming router to filter out “bad”
games. Never even got to play, just backed out for 90 minutes. I guess there aren’t any “good” BR games going around lol. -
pitcher and line up selection should be done prior to finding an opponent so it goes straight to a game
finding opponents and having them back out is getting tiresome, and than there are the friendly quit requests

Not in BR. No FQs. I feel like you have to accept those in RS or the game makes you lose anyway, lol,

Wondering why they back out of games, especially since its a guaranteed win for them; I suck at this, I'm just trying to prestige.
-
I think they should just make it so once you start your search for an online opponent, if you back out for any reason, you take a loss. Maybe make exceptions after a certain amount of time has gone by during the search. Two minutes or so. Leave any room for cherry picking and people will take advantage and this will likely only get worse as the game expands to new platforms.

Well I just found out why I should be cherry picking home games. 6 innings in frame drop galore Wrigley Field and a completely burned out bullpen at only 8-0. Sigh.

I’m probably a 60-70% online player and have seen for months about the people backing out for home field advantage. I conceptually understand the reasoning, but at the end of the day LITERALLY SOMEONE has to be the away team. I think all my games yesterday were away and it’s whatever; won most, lost a few and it’s fine. I’m not skilled enough to make WS/12-0, so maybe I’m just missing exactly how “critical” home field is.

Yeah like I said I don't mind if people back our for being the away team. Not just for the connection, but more importantly you don't know what park you're gonna play at. And there's nothing more soul draining than having to play in Minute Maid, Wrigley, Yankee Stadium or any other of the framedrop hellholes in this game.
I'm talking about guys who back out based on the rating slider not going low enough or me picking my top spot pitcher, who by the way is often mediocre because I don't really draft high rated SP in BR.
-
I don’t mind it in br, but I can’t stand it in ranked. I only understand sum1 doing that in ranked if it’s their ws game or something. Otherwise it’s pretty lame imo

I haven't played much br. Isn't it like events, where there doesn't seem to be much lag whether you are home or away? If so, it only makes sense to do this in RS. I don't mind being the away team, but I definitely back out if there is too much lag in the lineup screen. I think the same amount of lag between scrolling down and it actually scrolling down is the same amount of lag that there will be between pressing swing and your guy actually swinging
-
That said I think the best games in RS, are when you are away team and there isn't much lag in the lineup screen
-
How do you check the lineup screen for lag?Newbie this year and curious. Not very good and dont really care about home or away but hate games with bad lag.

Go down to your 3rd pitcher and back up to your ace so people hear it move a couple times.

It's sickening. I'm away approximately 80% of the time cuz I don't pull that BS. Better be fixed next year!
