Why not? Machado's WAR is 2.4, he's hitting .314 with 14 HRs and only strikes out 14.5% of the time. Trout is also at 2.4 WAR, has a couple more HRs, but is hitting .295 and strikes out almost 23% of the time. Betts is also 2.4 WAR... they're all pretty close.
I also doubt San Diego is a one-year wonder with all that talent.

Dodger fans are the worst fans in the game. They are like Raiders fans that like baseball too they usually know nothing about the team except that they wear blue and white and and win a lot of regular season games. As a Padres fan this has been the most entertaining season for me I don’t miss a pitch yet when the Dodgers come to town I get soooo jealous that the cardboard cutouts get to go to a Padres Dodgers game without being surrounded by a bunch of douchbags wearing Kershaw jerseys violating the terms of their parole

Maybe you should start a company, call it “Los Angeles Studios,” make a baseball game, and upgrade as many Dodgers to gold and diamond as your heart desires.

Edit: I’m just joking with you. It is rare that Padres fans have anything to be excited about. You might have a legitimate gripe, I don’t know. But we are enjoying this season immensely.
