Would you stay or would you go now?

Next year, if a different developer offered another “simulation” baseball game on par with The Show as far as production value, licenses, and content goes, would you stick with the next iteration of The Show, or would you roll the dice and buy the other game? Personally, I think I would roll the dice with the other game. There is a lot I love about this game, but there are other aspects I find less than savory. If you had two games to choose from, what would you do? What aspects are there that are absent from The Show that the other game would have to have in order for you to jump ship?

MLB Power Pros ever comes back to the states, I'm gone. I'd also love a console version of OOTP, but I'd probably play that and The Show.
-
I mean hypothetically I probably would try the new game, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have The Show too.
If it was made by EA or 2K I wouldn't have much confidence in it.

If it's not made by EA or 2K, who realistically would make one?
If it wasn't made by either of those two, I would have less confidence in it -
See NBA live compared to 2k. A different developer making this game would be much worse
-
If that developer is offering a PC version then I'm all in.

I loved Power Pros!

Personally i would stick with the Show since not only would having competition force them to clean up issues and put out their absolute best product the first few years of the new game will probably be rough.

Heck, the commercials of RBI baseball are laughable. It looks like Ken Griffey Jr. baseball from SNES.
-
Look at the other sports franchises. SDS is far superior compared to the other companies. Is the gameplay the best it could be every year? Maybe. It is hard to say without a comparison. But the content and F2P mentality is 100x better than EA or 2K.

Coming-At you-Like-A Champ-i-on!! Working at home during Covid and having the MLB Network on all the time in the background unfortunately tattooed this on my brain.

"Get out the rye bread and mustard grandma, its grand salami time " best home run call ever(I think that was in the n64 Griffey Slugfest tho)

Problem is, people have this in their HR queue and it triggers on a 358ft wall scraper solo shot at ShitPit on a early change up.

It seems like people wouldn’t have much interest in trying a game made by EA or 2k, but what about a company like Rockstar? They made the definitive ping pong game a few years back. This is what Game Informer said about it: “It’s a game where you play ping pong. So...”. I mean with stellar reviews like that, it makes me think they could handle a baseball game. How hard could it be? Dot Dot Dot

I'm gone and done either way when I'm finished with 20. I've got my reasons that have nothing to do with gameplay or options.

If Nintendo ever makes a NES Classic 2.0 with Baseball Stars...
-
My concern is if I stay there would be trouble, but if I go it would be double. So you gotta let me know

Exactly!

I don't see how a first year game would be anywhere close to The Show so I wouldn't be switching. To have a game even threaten The Show in its first few years, it'd probably have to be developed by EA Sports or 2K with their resources and experience in the sports video game realm.
