From what I read it looks like you guys are really listings I was waiting for lunch angle to be added in the feed back
Lunch angle?lol
I used to give you the benefit of the doubt but it's clear as day that you really are THAT type of person.
-
This is crazy if it works because they literally just put in an entirely new system of feedback and results with hitting, right?

Huh?

It shows your the hitting feedback for your opponent!!!!

Lol... apparently this is a good/good homerun by the cpu on legend now. Lol.
I guess we just get to see the bad hits in more detail now. I hope this is an outlier and not the norm.

One thing that seems like a bit of an oversight - we've lost the ability to see contact result on the 3rd out of an inning. Contact result appears in the slideout window now instead of directly above the swing analysis, which means it doesn't show up at the moment of contact. On the 3rd out we don't get that full slideout due to the inning ending.
I'm a big fan of having launch angle in the analysis window now, and putting the batter's ratings in the analysis is a good move (for reasons I'm about to illustrate in a moment). Overall, does it do enough to separate good contact from okay, and make good hitting feel more rewarding? I'm not sure yet. I did have this fly ball in a Legend vs. CPU game that I think kind of highlights what the problem has been (and perhaps still is):
I want to stress that I have no problem with this outcome - I got under the ball with a 67 power hitter, and did not have perfect timing. Fly out to the deep OF is exactly what I would expect. The issue is with the analysis - why is that good/good? There was little chance of that being a rewarding hit, yet this is supposed to be part of that .600 average they're shooting for for that classification? I think this is where a lot of the frustration comes from. You couldn't consider it "Weak" either with an EV of 93, obviously - but this would probably be a case where Good/Okay is the right classification - it seems to give a more reasonable expectation of the outcome.
-
Great update! Cant wait until the weekend so I can really take a deeper dive.

Where did the ball land, because the wind was blowing out 10MPH? I noticed the PCI & bat/ball placement doesn't look to be in the same spot, which sucks.

Not sure tbh, I got disconnected and the game dropped after that happened. No, none of it seemed to match up and it wasn't even in the pci. I'm not sure how it was considered good. If it was good okay, maybe I could have bought that.

Lol let's keep this to talking about the update not a topic for someone who plays the game.. I also agree with the one guy it's always the games fault with the most of you.. when I miss my spot or make a bad pitch it's not the game it's my skill... Some of y'all should channel that

The changes to the hitting feedback look great.
One concern, however, regarding something it looks like we are losing from what we currently had: Prior to the update, the Exit Velocity was shown on the feedback panel that appeared immediately after bat-ball contact. This was a key indicator to me as a hitter of how solid the contact was and what my expectation should be of how far the ball would travel. Now, it appears that we will not get this information until the slide-out panel after completion of the play. Also, there are many circumstances under which the slide-out panel does not display (e.g. after the last pitch of an at-bat during player-locked moments, after the last pitch of a 1/2 inning, etc.).
@Victor_SDS It would be great if you could consider moving the Exit Velocity (and launch angle, if possible) back to the panel that appears immediately after bat-ball contact (right above the timing meter and below the hitter information would be perfect) so that we can have this important information right after the swing once again. That would really make these changes a "home run".

This is brilliant on their part. Next time your perfect perfect fly ball doesn’t leave the park, it’s not because there’s a problem with the programming. There was a sudden gust of wind, duh. It’s not their fault the wind blows.
-
I love the slider on swing timing. Excellent addition!
-
Issue #1 - Feedback goes away to fast to review data given.
-
Do we have an option to turn off the home run camera yet ?

The stat dump is literally dopamine. I can't get enough!
If I may, suggestions for the next stat dump:
-- Average Team Affinity Progress
-- Inning Stats (Avg Stars, Most popular Bosses)
-- Percentage of Users that have acquired Mantle, Biggio, Sheffield
-- Percentage of Users that have entered XP Prestige Path
-- Most Prestiged Cards -

Very good patch. Hopefully it translates in game!
First 3 at bats with new patch, hit with didi, hit with belli, and perfect homer wit Rizzo, I like the new patch !!!
In all seriousness, the meter is really cool, I like that!

Kudos for the change to pitcher stamina. I personally didn’t have a problem with being able to use starters out of the pen, but felt there wasn’t enough of a penalty - I know some guys literally just used Kluber 2 - 3 innings every game, because that’s how much stamina would recover and he’s always be at full strength. This change should give people something to think about before running a starter out of the pen, while still making it an option in a pinch or close game. Dig it.

-- Most Prestiged CardsI completely agree. The stats were an awesome addition. I’d also like to see the different game modes as a percentage of time played. I would assume RS or conquest would be the highest played and probably BR the lowest played among RS, events, BR, conquest, and showdown, but I would still like to see some numbers about where users are spending their time in DD

I feel like your pic is a perfect example of why they provided such a long patch note to explain there are far more inputs that go into a result that you need to consider than just the fact that the ball is slightly outside the contact PCI and was a home run.
Let’s break down your pic using what SDS has told us:
Firstly, we know that the small PCI reflects contact zone where there is an increased chance of hard contact, compared to the vision portion. Players can still make contact in the vision zone, it’s just the chance of hard contact is less and I believe it drops the further out you get. This ball is just outside the contact PCI, so there’s definitely still a chance that can be hit with hard contact.
Second, patch note says pitch location is the most important factor in determining contact result. That pitch is in the middle of the zone which means it definitely has a higher chance of being subject to hard contact.
Lastly, if that’s on legend and the PCI is that big, that means you hung your pitch. SDS didn’t put anything out on this but I am positive from more than enough anecdotal evidence that hanging pitches = significantly increased chance of hard contact.
To sum up, the increased chance of hard contact due to a hung cutter down the middle outweighed the decreased chance of hard contact due to PCI placement being slightly off.
With the information SDS put out, they are effectively saying based on all the data they can see and the knowledge they have of what inputs should produce what outputs, they’re fairly comfortable with the current state of hitting.
What was lacking was understanding and the communication to users which is why they sent out what they did. Now it’s up to us to use that info and be objective when assessing hitting outcomes.
If the results still seem inconsistent based on all the information we have, then by all means share that in the forums and ask for change or more information to properly assess hit results, but if they give us new info and we continually revert back to something as simple as “contact pci not on ball + home run = broken” when we have been told it’s more complex, we are always gonna be unhappy.
