I may be in the minority but I don't think the card looks that bad. there's going to be a lot of people that want him just cuz he's Griffey so he could hold decent value. Worst comes to worst just sell him or take the future star fantasy card
It’s not that bad but why is his speed 81, when every other mariners version he’s had was 84
now you're asking me questions I can't possibly answer not to mention is there that much of a difference in 3 attribute points for speed? That may have boosted his card from a 95 to 96 and the wardens at SDS couldn't possibly allow that.
Either way, why pair Griffey, their poster child for diamond dynasty, with a 97 overall future star? I think the reasoning is because Griffey will be the stage 3 mariners ta
I think 99 will be reserved for the final stage. Next stage will be 97 ish range
I think we get 5 99s, 5 98s, 5 97’s, 15 93-96’s.

People complained that we got too many 99s early in the game, so now they’re giving us dumbed down versions of those cards.
When gameplay is horrendous, does it really matter what version of cards are being made avail?
What amazes me is that SDS' culture seems to be strictly content based, completely ignoring the gameplay aspect. It's like, "SDS, hello? Uh, can you guys take a quick timeout and forget about content for a second? Gameplay is where the flaws and majority of complaints in this forum are geared towards and where your focus and attention should be geared towards as well."
Wish somebody within their organization would step up and say something, and then actually do something about it.....Geezus!
Content and gameplay are two separate teams.
Ahhh, okayyy...and???
We continue to get content, but no gameplay fixes to obvious issues.

The content team is just doing their job.
In fact, they might even be working extra hard to keep people playing since the gameplay isn’t great.
Saying “Why do we keep getting new content but no gameplay fixes?” is just ignorant.

The worst part is Griffey hit .364 that post season and they gave him 78/84 contact lol
There's no logic to SDS

There's definetely gonna be an ichiro in that stage somewhere. Probably stage 3 before the final stage for ken griffey

A response could be made though that one of the two teams isn’t doing their job. Maybe their is a content team and a gameplay team. But the gameplay team isn’t doing anything

I mean, it’s been confirmed in the past that there are indeed two separate teams for content and gameplay.
The reason we aren’t getting gameplay fixes has nothing to do with us getting new content.

Content team isnt the problem. they have been backpacking this game for years now. The gameplay team on the other hand I have nothing good to say about them over the past 3 years, maybe one year they will figure it out.......

Exactly.
As I commented in another thread, Griffey was injured that year running into the CF wall. His numbers were down because he missed a lot of games. Basing his card from that year on the stats from that year really misses the boat.

I'm pretty sure last year was the last time they had the rights to ichiro. He is now retired and would have to sign a separate deal with him until he hits the Hall of Fame

It's because during the 1995 playoffs, Griffey had a stubbed toe, caused by slamming his foot off a payphone booth...
This caused the -3 in speed rating throughout the 2 rounds Seattle played. -
