How to beat the cheaters
-
Some have already chosen to stop playing online as a result of the cheating and freezing fiasco, but assuming you do keep playing online, here are 4 steps to combat cheating:
- Report every cheater and every instance of cheating. Every single time.
 - Use this forum and social media to pressure Sony/SDS to ban cheaters and to also fix the longstanding "freeze off" issue.
 - Do not buy stubs until these issues are addressed.
 - Do not buy next year's game unless these issues are addressed.

How do you cheat in this game?

Here's a ten-step guide to stop cheating and improve online play that I posted in another thread:
@Nats19Champions said in Online play has become a disaster:
Here's how online play could be mostly fixed:
- Stop assigning wins and losses in the event of a server freeze.
 - Fix lagging that is resulting in bad umpire calls and game-changing plays.
 - Allow players a limited number of chances to leave an online game before a pitch is thrown to prevent mismatches.
 - Do not allow starting pitchers to be used as relievers or, at the very least, severely limit their stamina.
 - Disable the "hold R2" feature after the first inning a given pitcher is in the game.
 - Make bunt defense better to prevent online abuse of bunting.
 - Limit the number of pauses during a game, not just pause time.
 - Do not allow friendly quit requests in the last 10 seconds of a player's pause time.
 - Investigate reports of cheating and ban/strip wins from those who are caught doing so.
 - Players who received losses as a result of proven cheating should also have those losses removed from their record.

this dude is a clown lmao literally in every thread and creates threads all day.

The first 17 weren't clear enough.

None of those things are cheating.

What does buying stubs have to do with any of this
 -
Do you seriously report every single person who holds R2?
 -
@ImDFC said in How to beat the cheaters:
You're using Cheater wrong. Me using R2 to look at your confidence and energy isn't cheating. Heck, me using R2 to dictate pace isn't cheating
I'm not talking about holding R2 a few times per game. I'm talking about every single pitch which has happened to me and I suspect all of us non-cheaters. There's an easy solution for this: only allow R2 in the first inning a given pitcher is in the game. If you want additional information in a later inning, you should be required to use your pause time vs. disrupting the pitcher. The feature is being abused.

Not supporting the game financially until they crack down on cheating and improve online play.

If it's done constantly throughout the game, then yes. A few times then no, of course not.
 -
I played someone who R2ed me through 14 innings in a ranked game.
Was it annoying? Yes. Was I mad? Yes.Was my opponent cheating? No.

Yes.
If it's a in-game mechanic, it cannot be classified as cheating. The opponent is using an in-game mechanic.
It's scummy, and players who do that are prob some of the most annoying players in the game, but it's not cheating.
