I mean... Just because the game doesn't work appropriately for everyone on this forum still doesn't mean you should be able to make your team OP by exploiting something that wasn't working right. It's May 1st. These guys have already maxed out XP. They have Thames Springer Ramirez. For exploiting a glitch. Mean while people paid money in these tough times to try and get closer to get Biggio Sheffield Mantle. I mean... There isn't much difference between those 6 99s except name value. Should the game play be fixed? Absolutely. Do they want to fix it? Of course. Is it frustrating? Yes... I haven't seen anyone on the forum complain about getting bogus XP and virtually have a end game team 6 weeks into the game cycle.

For the people who complete collections and play the DD mode in versus.. showdown.. conquest.. and get the XP by earning it. Playing HR Derby for all of your XP shouldn't reward you with cards and other rewards that are not meant to be obtained so quickly. It's not a grind. It's exploiting a glitch.
Playing a single mode for 5 hours is defienlty a grind. It’s so pointless. If you wanna sit there for 5 hours playing a mode like he derby. Yeah you should get xp
So your telling me people who sit and play something so mind numbly boring that takes no skill should be awarded more XP than those that complete collections for as many teams as possible? Yeah ok. Sure it's a grind.. a extremely tedious one. It's still exploiting a glitch. The HR Derby wasn't designed to give that much XP. That's why they are patching it. I don't really blame SDS.. they would think people bought their game to play and try to get cards.. not play a mode for 10 hours out of a 24 hour day. Lol.. but sure .. big time grind.
This is the same company that had us collect hats two seasons ago to get cards......
That is true and that was ridiculous... Big time fail for them on that.

HR derby gave 25xp per HR hit. that's it. that's not an exploit. it's simply clear/transparent rewards for those that want to play a game mode included by SDS.
this isn't SDS fixing a glitch. it's them nerfing another aspect of the game that didn't need touched.

SDS takes away the things we as a community enjoy before fixing the real issues with the game. One example, HR derby used to give you a good XP amount. While some may say, it’s unfair cuz that person is getting a ton of XP. My response is. If you want to sit down and play HR derby for 5 hours. You should be rewarded with XP. Like home run derby isn’t that fun. It’s tedious. So if you’re gonna put in the work and do that for 5 hours or whatever it may be. You should be rewarded. And this is coming from someone who didn’t even use that method
This might be the dumbest post ever written..."How dare they fix an exploit used by the few to game the system."

im curious what a hr gets you now. Plus for YEARS its been 25 pts per homerun. Never was touched before. Its very boring, but I did play a bit with my kids since they really arent that good, plus it helped good ole dad get closer to 300 stars. I am bummed about the MTO fix, as i was planning on actually playing that mode, but 8-10 hours for half a stage done, seems overkill. I do like the showdown mode, but Fielding should be their priority #1. Yes they are here to make money, all businesses are. Fixing the glitches should be a priority, but fixing a quality product should be the #1 priority I feel.

We also bought the game thinking it would work in a somewhat proper way and that any gameplay issues could be resolved at the same speed that boosted XP earnings are nerfed. They’re focusing on the wrong exploits and issues. Yes those things need to be addressed but leveling up is part of the game. Dropping a fly ball you’re locked under or hitting a perfect/perfect line out while giving up homeruns on early/ok and bad pci placement. If the game worked as it should people wouldn’t gravitate to other modes to find those XP issues.
This is a the dumbest reply ever. One is an easy fix so yes they should fix it right away. Do you even have a basic understanding of science? What makes you think a perfect/perfect should be a hit or HR every time? Grow up child

SDS apologists/sheep out in full force this AM.
What are you missing here? People were simply playing a game mode in the way it was DESIGNED BY SDS.
There was no exploit. SDS is simply nerfing things because they don't want people earning rewards as quickly. its greed.

You make it sound like they sat down and said "well we can fix game play or reduce XP in HR derby".
The HR Derby XP nerf probably took them like 10 minutes and had no effect at all on whether or not they made any other changes.
If they are going to fix the exploits and bugs then it is best to do it sooner rather than later. The longer those stay in the game the bigger the outcry when they do eventually get removed.

all hail SDS! they can do no wrong. lol

So I didn't know about th HR derby thing until last night.... I thought I would see how much XP I got. I payed 2 full rounds and won them both but I didn't see much XP at all? What exactly was happening and how were they getting alot of XP?

nothing was happening. the game was rewarding XP EXACTLY how SDS designed it to - 25XP per HR hit in the derby.
SDS greed/ignorance kicked in because people were dedicating their lives to that mode, I guess. but they nerfed it to 8XP per HR moving forward.
not sure how anyone can call it an exploit or cheat. but SDS sheep gonna be SDS sheep.

Yeeeahhhhh..... That doesn't even seem like alot of XP....... If you hit like 60 HR's that's only 1,500. You can complete Showdown and get like 12 or 13,000 isn't it ? As far as I am concerned they can have 25XP for such a boring mode....
-
i did it twice when close to leveling up for the bigger XP rewards like silver 40.
its an incredibly boring experience. but if people wanna "waste" their time in the mode, who cares?
apparently SDS cares enough to nerf it. just a shame that they can modify modes in ways that only seem to benefit their bottom line.

i like when he says 'the HR derby wasnt designed to give that much XP'
thats just grade A level ignorance by an SDS apologist.
SDS programmed to reward 25xp per HR. and now they're nerfing it because they didnt like how fast people were gaining XP.
again, what's so hard for people to grasp about that?
It's not a bug or glitch. its SDS changing the terms of their game after the fact, to suit their needs.
-
I don't consider the HRD XP to be an exploit. I think it was just something that SDS never considered, that people would grind HRD for 50 or 60 hours in the first month to get to Prestige level.
The MTO double points thing was a bug, as such if you knew it was a bug (and we all knew it) and took advantage of it as much as possible while it was in the game then it is an exploit.

Agreed. 25 xp per hr was in the game for years. It was like people farming xp using boring methods in any other online game.
MTO double points was a bug, they fixed it.
Play vs CPU with a zero rated pitcher was an exploit, they fixed it. No punishment for the people with 500+ single game run records though...
HR derby was not a bug or exploit. Just an XP farm, that had been that way for years.
