I need a monitor recommendation please.

I play on a pa4 pro. I’ll get a Pa5 when it comes out of course. I’m looking for one with low input lag etc and response time. I’m looking for one that is not too crazy expensive. I’d like it to have4K with HDR if possible, but that’s not a deal breaker, especially if I can get a better performing one that is not 4K.

I got the perfect monitor for my needs the LG 34WL750-B, but prolly won't fit your needs cause its a 21:9 ratio and PS4 only supports 16:9...I totally hope PS5 supports ultrawide cause 16:9 is so old fashion now...it feels like 4:3. I play mostly PC games, The Show is the only reason I own a PS4...If you're just a console dude then you better stick with 16:9. I don't think input lag would be a problem with any monitor, that's usually a TV thing and you don't need to go beyond 60 Hz cause consoles are capped at that. So for console stuff just get a regular run of the mill monitor, you don't need anything special...consoles are low end stuff compared to a gaming PC. If i were you then I'd get a regular 32 inch 4K monitor with 5ms..prolly gonna cost you like 500 bucks.

5ms vs. 1ms has to do with response time. Those are not input lag specs. Response times vary due to the type of panel the monitor use. Most manufactures don’t list input lag specs and that’s something you will have to google on your end. Monitors with low response times usually have low input lag as well.

Dude there is no reason at all to get a 1ms monitor for a PS4 Pro!! lol, the difference is .004 seconds to 5ms...that's right 4 thousandth of a second difference....unless you're a robot you won't notice that...and plus ms is such a weird marketing thing....almost all companies just lie outta their butts.

To push 144hz at 4K will need HDMI 2.1, which 99% of TVs don't have yet but that's not even it, its the horsepower you need to drive 4K at 144hz...did you read what I mentioned above of what is required for that? and the cost for it? Or did it just go right over your head?. Usually console life span is 5-7 years and consoles are basically outdated when they are release compared to PC hardware and you noobs have to stop saying next gen when it comes to consoles...consoles are basically always going to be current gen when they are released, get that word out of your vocabulary. So by the time the average person owns a TV with HDMI 2.1 there will be a PS6..maybe just maybe the PS5 will have like 5 games running at 4K/144hz compared to 500 games running at 4K/60Hz.

Okay so the PS5 can push out 10 teraflop and an RTX 2080 which does 14 teraflop can maybe push a current PC game at 144hz/4K at low to medium settings...to even get 120 fps at 4K with High to Ultra settings you'd most likely need SLI RTX 2080, that's like $2500 just for the video cards and you're asking for a $600 PS5 to do it!! lol. If a PS5 wants to even consider doing 120 frames at 4K the game will have to be set at some super duper low settings.

This is off topic from the original post, but you said you worked for Sony so I thought I’d ask. I have a Sony X900f, which is supposed to have 40ms input lag at 1080p, 23ms at 1440 and 2160p respectively. When I check my display info while playing Mlbts, it says it is displaying a 4k image regardless of whether I set the Show’s settings to faster, balanced, or sharper. I understand that it is because I have the PS4 display detection set to auto, but what input lag am I actually getting? At faster, the game is sending a 1080p image (I guess) but then my tv is just upscaling it. Am I introduced to new input lag when things are upscaled like that? What settings would you recommend to get the least amount of input lag? Thanks.

Nothing false about. The PS4 is capped at 60hz but the PS5 won’t be. Nobody is saying it will do 144hz but buying a 60hz monitor is just silly if you plan on getting the PS5. Plus 4K is just the way to go once again if you are buying a PS5.

When I check my display info while playing Mlbts, it says it is displaying a 4k image regardless of whether I set the Show’s settings to faster, balanced, or sharper. I understand that it is because I have the PS4 display detection set to auto, but what input lag am I actually getting? At faster, the game is sending a 1080p image (I guess) but then my tv is just upscaling it. Am I introduced to new input lag when things are upscaled like that? What settings would you recommend to get the least amount of input lag? Thanks.
Hey bud yes you're correct about the input lags as per resolution and I know what you're trying to do with setting it to auto by letting your PS4 determine the best settings for less input lag. Its just that the x900f isn't really designed to play games at 60hz, input lag will be total garbage, in fact the x900f is designed to play games at 120hz with way less input lag with a PC. When it comes to video games that are FPS or racing games or anything that requires as little input lag as possible don't use a TV, TVs are garbage when it comes to games like that.....get a monitor. The only thing I can recommend with your current Sony TV is take off the auto and change it back to game mode, its the only thing that'll help you out but it will basically still be bad..if you want to change TVs for low input lag then just get a cough cough a Samsung Q8 or Q9 TV.

Nothing false about. The PS4 is capped at 60hz but the PS5 won’t be. Nobody is saying it will do 144hz but buying a 60hz monitor is just silly if you plan on getting the PS5. Plus 4K is just the way to go once again if you are buying a PS5.
Are you Scarletgospel doppelganger? :)....bud, most likely the majority of games for PS5 will be 4K at 60hz and just adding better anti-aliasing and post processing stuff....the PS5 is basically a mid range gaming PC, I mean what do you expect for $600. I know the spec sheets for PS5 says 120hz but must likely it will be for Bluerays running 120 hz, and maybe 1 or 2 games.
