Legends Trailer Breakdown

@GoozeFn_PSN Jimmy Foxx was a beast a couple of years ago.

@w1ck3dx24_PSN That wasn’t the case last year. It was a great year for new legends and the only big legends lost I can think of were Mariano Rivera and Banks.
Didn’t we lose Jimmie Foxx, lefty grove, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson last year too? Or was that two years ago?
All four were last in the game in 2023.
Wasn't Johnson the one with the incredibly slow wind-up?

Schmidt

@Teak2112_MLBTS Big name, but everyone hates using him. Ted Williams/Manny Ramirez/Roger Clemens/Beltran/Berkman/Hodges/Varitek is a much better list than Schmidt/Rivera/Banks and anyone else we lost. It’s not particularly close.

This is sad. Wow, every big name is a returning legend, and everyone else is just filler nobody really asked except for Lynn and maybe Schoendienst. No Mets love this year

Nettles gets asked for, and a least he was good enough for Cleveland and passable for Padres so he has value beyond being a Yankee. I assume that means Chase Headley is one and done.
Conine is good for Marlins fans at least, solid lesser legend. Not sure anyone needed Burnitz though
Rizzuto seems pointless, Yankees already have a high profile righty SS legend but its something different I guess and the more I think about the more on board I am for it.

I don't hate using him, and I also missed some others (Damon in particular). But yes, last years legend list was very good and this years is pretty mediocre so far. And Rivera was only gone because of his personal life.

I keep seeing people on other places call Pujols a returning legend, which is not technically true.
I think people are also discounting his legendary status because he was in the game so recently
I, like others though, think there is another big announcement to come during the stream.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS Man I hope you’re wrong about Headley especially after Peavy was and done.

At least we finally got some Yankees.
Still missing the 3rd biggest one though

I can't wait for Moonshot Phil Rizzuto with 125 power.

I know I am in the minority, but I really hope they don't bring that back. But the cats out of the bag and soon they will do the 2K thing of giving everyone max stats at the end of the year.

He is absolutely worthy of being back in the game and technically is a "new" Legend because this is the first game he is in post retirement.
It doesn't feel too special though because he was just in the game three years ago and had literally been in every installment of The Show before then since its inception in 2006. The same goes for Felix.

It is not that we lost them last year, but the fact that we have lost so many greats, that I would rather have some of them back instead.
Ted Williams was gone for awhile before his return, but others like
Rogers Hornsby
Jimmie Foxx
Ty Cobb
Dave Winfield
Walter Johnson
Christy Mathewson
Fred McGriff
Mike Schmidt
Ernie Banks
Matt Williams
Fergie Jenkins
Mariano Rivera
Reggie JacksonSome of these guys are what people think about when they think of baseball, so it sucks to have them removed.. And I do get it, they all cost money for their rights and some are more expensive than others, but my original point was that there are so many great people we have had and lost, that I would love to see return.
Some of these

More legend reveals today.
Kieth Foulk
Matt Carpenter
Zack Britton
Ron SantoThey also showed the Pujols 99 which I’m guessing is the NL reward. Doubt they’d leak the MLB reward like that.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but that's four more names who have all been in the game somewhat recently. Foulke was in 20 and pretty sure the other three were all in 23. Taketh and giveth.

Shocked, but happy, to see Matt Carpenter shown considering that he was in the game last year (although he only had a 59 Free agent card). With Arenado gone maybe Carp can be slotted in at 3B
They showed a 99 Cardinals Pujols and a 81 Angels Pujols so my guess is if it is like Beltran last year the Cardinals may not see another Cardinals version, which would be sad since it is an extreme longshot for me to finish the NL collection.
-
The 99 Pujols has 3B/LF/RF secondaries.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Matt Carpenter was one of the guys listed in the college videos for alumni. That makes me think Posey, Abbott and Greene will be in the game too. Hope so.
