I will go on record as saying that I have never been a fan of these type of fake cards where SDS uses some arbitrary voodoo method to project some players ratings.

But that ship has sailed unfortunately.

    Sadly you are correct.

Every year I expect a "movie" event where they drop cards of fictional cards like Wild Thing, Serrano and Jack Elliot (Mr. Baseball).
    Nothing would surprise now

Looks like future stars will be Affinity Stage 2.

I am not doubting you, but where did you hear this?
I am always looking for new, reliable sources of information.

    Thanks

On their twitter page they stated 30+ future stars will be revealed today and released Friday. I cant imagine them releasing these plus different affinity cards all in one day.

I just saw that, Thank you.
If the first round of TA's were 87-89 are we going to get even better cards?

A team like my woeful Marlins got an 87 Brian Anderson, does that mean I sould expect something like an 88 or 89 JJ Bleday?

That makes little sense, while Bleday is a good prospect, no way should he have a card better than all other Marlins cards.

Prospects are suspects until they produce

I totally agree. I really hope I am wrong as I would prefer a combination of flashbacks and legends and an additional collection reward for collecting 15 cards of the different types.

Welp, looks like I’m finally going to have to carve out some time for Showdown! The stage one players beat up on my squad enough. I’ve got some catch up to do!!!

Major League is a Paramount feature. And before you ask, Field of Dreams is Universal.

If we get anyone, it'd be Roy Hobbs and Jimmy Dugan. Surprised Wonderbat isn't a bat skin already.

I actually expected this, team affinity looks like it will have a stage for every category of card along the way. We’ve received gold prospects and low diamonds for FOTF, now we should expect Future Stars, Rookies, Breakouts, All Stars (obviously in summer), Veterans and Postseason cards toward the end of the year, if they’re being even vaguely chronological about it.
Future Stars isn’t necessarily an L, some of those cards were pretty juiced. If they decide to drop Classic versions of the future stars cards (As someone pointed out the prospects could be deemed as future stars) the problem is a few have been used as FOTF picks already. Thinking back though we have had enough to go around since they were introduced in ‘17.

So these future stars are going to be better than the faces of the franchise? Seems a little backwards to me, if gleyber is a 89 then who’s going to be the 93? Devi Garcia ? We just did prospects endlessly, was hoping for someone more proven. I’ll take a juiced Gardner over an unproven “future star”

The Future Stars cards don’t have to be better than the FOTF cards if they take less affinity stars to acquire. The tier 1 prospect cards were awarded at 25 stars and FOTF at 50 stars. The FS cards could be awarded between the 50 star FOTF and whatever the second tier of FOTF cards will be. The FS cards aren’t necessarily the peak stage 2 reward

Oh this would be crazy if they put out worse cards than you can currently get... it won’t happen brother.

All I know is that Wander Franco card mashes. If we get anything like him I’ll be all over that. I have many players ranked better than Wander but he’s one of my best hitters

I would prefer more single season flashbacks. Obviously we’ll probably get some in the last two stages, but there’s undoubtedly enough options that SDS could use for every stage.

Wouldn't surprise me if every team has a gold future stars card and then another diamond at 120 points or whatever.

Mets have some interesting prospects, Mauricio, Alvarez, Baty, Allan and Gimenez, but no one that fits in the FS set. We had Tomas Nido last year... lol.

Yes, they are. Any card reward has a blue highlight around the box (See the previous TA Rewards, 2nd Inning, Player Program, Events, Evolution, POTM, etc), and the final Stage 2 SPRING reward at 120 points has the blue highlight.

Ah, I was curious about that but I wasn’t on my console to check. I was wondering if the FS cards were awarded at 95 stars or something and the stage 2 peak reward was at 120 stars. Thanks for verifying 👍🏻
