Just funny because he literally made a sliding catch in LF in the All Star game, yet his All Star card can’t play LF?!

I've thought for a long time, it should just be OF, not a specific position. If your brave enough to put Gincarlo Stanton in CF....if you get what i'm saying. Look at the Honus Wagner card. look at his secondaries....one is OF

For 4 of his first 6 years, Honus was a Primary OF.

    @LIONED-33_XBL I agree.

I mean, if a player is fast and talented enough to be a center fielder, I think he can play the two other outfield positions...

Same thing for left and right fielders. Each position have his specifity, but not big enough for a professionnal outfielder to not being able to switch from left to right, or vice versa.

Outfielder should be the designation in the game. And every one of them could play all three positions.

Same thing for SS. Every SS should be able to play 2B and 3B. We are talking about the best athletes in the world. There is no way that a SS would make more mistakes playing 2B. At least, I think, from my experience on the field.

They should just give Corner Outfielders LF and RF and leave CF up to the option of secondary positions.

I assume the intent was to force lineup variety and lineup decisions especially early in the game cycle.

@ref479ode_PSN that is exactly it; they addressed that a couple of times in their streams: force people to make harder choices and with emphasis on defense, see what you are willing to sacrifice.

That is the stated goal; have they reached it? I’m not sure because apparently you can stick Elly in CF and he plays well (even as a bad SS in real life).

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN As usual they over corrected with secondaries this year.

@yankblan_PSN I can understand why SDS looked into ways to try to diversify lineups and try not to let it get to where there is one single META lineup that everyone uses online. I can understand people thinking SDS over-corrected with how limited the secondary positions are this year (and I agree). But, I don't understand putting Elly in CF! There are so many good outfielders even without Beltran (since most don't have him) while shortstop has a lot less good options. Of course, I don't know what these people's inventories look like. But, does Elly have some sort of "unofficial hidden quirk" that makes people want to use him in CF? Curious as to why Elly in CF is a thing with so many other options (that include 99 speed).

@dap1234567890_PSN We had it last year with a variety of captains. They could have made it even better with more usable captains. Instead, they made captains worthless, no one has secondaries and lineup diversity is worse than ever before.

I wish that bad defenders like Big Papi didn’t make diving plays, diving plays are so unrealistic in this game. Those animations for spectacular defensive plays should be tied to the fielding attribute.

I’d also love to have some top spin, it’s so hard to find grass in H2H matches. Hard hit liners are up in the air for too long.

You can play any CF anywhere and any corner OF in the corners … and nobody wants Giancarlo in CF 🙂

@YOSHI24_XBL agreed, Stanton isnt playing CF lol. I'm guessing what i'm saying is why should they take a huge defensive penalty for playing RF instead of CF. Their arms are what they are their speed is what it is. Its catching a baseball.

@GoozeFn_PSN Ok, that makes sense. I didn't play much last year so I didn't know that was a popular thing last year.

They gave a guy who has only played Right Field this year an All-Star card with only RF?

According to Baseball Statistics he has not played another OF position since 2021 when he played 4 games in CF and 2020 when he last played LF.
