Wish strike zone hitting view wasn’t an option

I don’t like strike zone aesthetically bc you have the catchers eye and not the batters but to simulate real baseball you’d have an extremely strange camera angle. I still use SZ because you can see the ball better IMO
I agree. It seems strike zone is the easiest way to pick up the ball. A big reason we all play video games are the graphics. I remember when games starting coming out with signature stances. It was a huge deal. Now to not see that aspect because it’s easier to hit just feels like we’ve taken a step back. This game is just so much nicer to look at when you can see the players you are hitting with. Their swings. The way they pimp home runs. Watching the ball leave the bat just don’t like being put at a disadvantage because I like these things. I guaranteed if you asked all the guys using strike zone camera which view they prefer the look of it would be the more zoomed out views where you see the whole batter.

Sucks that to compete in this game you need to use strike zone hitting view like everyone else. Just looks so terrible. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way. I’ve gotten as high as just below 700 rating in ranked season but can’t push past. Not to mention I refuse to spend my own money on player cards.
I guess what I’m wondering is how many use a hitting view where you see the majority of the batter and have made it to World Series ranking or how many use strike zone cause they feel it’s the only way to compete at a higher level but hate it. I’m not looking for a war here guys. I get it. Just don’t like it and was wondering what you all thought. Thanks.
I use Strike Zone 2, I am not a good hitter no matter what setting I use. I only got as high as PR. I have only played about 70 games in RS.

If you are good at the game you don't need to spend a dime. Even the worst players don't need to spend any money, just have patience as you can build an amazing team over time. The people that complain about the money angle are just making excuses. They think the expensive cards will all of a sudden help them pick up fastballs better or help them differentiate a slider from a curveballs. Stop with the excuses. Its just a video game. If you cant get to 700 rating i dont think your problem is the "no money spent.". I think you just need to get way better at the game.
Secondly, if you can hit the ball and see the ball better on strike zone then why use any other angle? Because the other angles are cooler looking? Lol. You got to decide what's more important for you. Graphics and looks or winning and getting better.

Here is a long reply
Agree, I go after hitting cause that is where I am weak. I do pretty well pitching. My hitting loses me games. I just can not time up pitches. I have tried different things over the years. To me I just play the game to have fun and try to win as much as I can and if I lose it is just a game. The only thing I can not stand is how bad the fielding is with diamond and gold fielders. It seems like if I am in a close game and one of my fielders makes an error the next batter hits a HR cause my pitcher throws a random pitch down the middle and all I can do is laugh about how bad it is. That happen last night I was up 2-0 in a RS game. My second baseman FOTF merrifield makes an error on a routine play. Then I throw high out side pitch to Soto but it ends up in the zone for a 2 run shot. That was all my opponent got we were tied 2-2 in the eight and he quit. I intentially walk all his power Lefties after that HR by Soto. He had Bases Loaded, Multiple Times with the Pitcher at the plate with 2 outs never pitch hit. He could not hit with his RH batters. He quit the game in the 8th. -
I use strike zone 3 when playing offline, to see the batter and nice graphics. If I play online I use strike zone 2. I find it a nice way to offset the offline vs. online pitch speeds too. I also you zone hitting for context.

I know it’s just a video game bud. Just killing time during the pandemic here. Not truly that upset about it. Just surprised how many people use it when you lose all the sweet aspects I mentioned in the game. I have built a descent team without spending a dime but you’re lying to yourself if you say a lot haven’t and that it doesn’t make a difference I hit better with th the better diamond players and pitch better with the better diamond pitchers. I’m not a game hater here. I love this game. Think it’s awesome.
I also get that 700 rating isn’t that good but I’m confident I would have kept climbing the ranks if I could have kept playing as much as I was at the start because I was off work with the corona thing. Back to work now so when I play I’m a bit rusty. I have decided what’s more important. How the game plays and LOOKS. Can I ask what your rating is. What hitting view you play in and how much money you’ve spent on player cards. Again not trying to start a war here. Just curious. Thought this was a little more interesting than “hitting broken”. “My outfielders can’t catch”. Lol
Really I was wondering how many people are having a high success rate using one of the further away views. All I see when I check out you tube is strike zone camera angle from all the top players on there. -
I hate having to use Strike Zone because you can’t see the batter. It’s more like playing a random computer game. However, I’ve found that the only way to really compete consistently on Legend and Legend + etc, is using this View. The ball moves so quickly and realistically, which is awesome, that without this view it’s just too difficult for me. I’m grateful that they have such high difficulty levels because before the show baseball games were too easy. That said, it’d be great if the devs could work on the other views being able to pick up the pitches better.

Really I was wondering how many people are having a high success rate using one of the further away views. All I see when I check out you tube is strike zone camera angle from all the top players on there.I got up to 862 last season. I lost interest in the game the last week and played games here or there and plummeted down to 800. At that point i went back to call of duty warzone. This game frustrates me more than any other ever. The fielding seems like an April fool's joke, the pitching is random and the hitting is beyond inconsistent. I use strike zone as i have used that camera for a few years. Its the angle I hit best with. I think the game looks good but when I'm trying to compete for RS, BR and event rewards then i want the best advantage for me. I'm less concerned with seeing the batter. I use pitcher offset when pitching so i seee the pitcher, catcher and batter like on tv. As far as money I have spent $200 on stubs and now have the live series collections done. Between events and BR rewards, flipping the market and lucky pack pulls i did well with stubs. The game is just less fun this year since it seems like you are not in control of the outcome at times. That is a turn off and the reason i play less nowadays. I was always a world series player every season the last couple years and in the past would have played until the last day to make World Series this season. I flat out lost interest when i lost games i was in control of and the game was given away because of some rng nonsense. I suggest using strike zone for a week and see if you get better results. If you do that and you still prefer cosmetics over rank then do what pleases you. Thats what its all about in the end. Its just a tine wasting video game that should be relaxing and not stressful. When it becomes stressful i turn it off.

So, this is what I heard, let me know if I'm correct about this...
"There's a batting view that I personally don't like to use, so it should be banned for everyone!!!"
-
Just switched to zone hitting not too long ago because I couldn’t hit with zoom anymore this year. I hate zone but i hit good with it. It was way more fun to look at different batting stances and see the no doubt homerun animations with zoom
-
Ive only ever used zoom and i have made WS every season since it started in 17. First season this year i got up to 959. I enjoy seeing the batter as well

100 percent my favorite camera is Custom, Retro .... I then adjust it just right to make the view perfect, I always use that camera offline and set it up right away... Here is what it looks like playing, this was game 1 of the world series with my franchise Mariners.... https://youtu.be/Jjl16XZOirI

I’ll never understand what’s so cool about being 5 feet behind your player watching his swing animation and everything all the fielders are doing. It’s incredibly unrealistic.
First person would be even better but strike zone is as close as I can get. If it gave me a disadvantage, id still use it.

I made World Series using zoom, strike zone, and the show 15 last year. I Also catch in real life, and strike zone is the easiest way to read the ball and react. I honestly wish they had a first person view so you could see it from a hitters stand point, which would make the game more challenging, but batting stances aren’t the important thing to 85% of the player base, swings are, hence why mike Schmidt can have crazy stats and be the least used player in the game.

I use fish eye I like feeling like the opponents catcher when I see the ball come in.

Try offset zoom
I’ve used offset zoom for 4 years, to me it’s by far and away the best.
