As much as I love MLB The Show, the downfall may be starting. I've been playing since 18 and it breaks my heart to see it gradually become pay-to-win and slowly only focus on Diamond Dynasty and forget about the other offline game modes, not that I play them too much but still. This part of the power creep makes or breaks the game, and if it continues on like this, hence the content drops earlier this week, it can't rebound. MLB has pretty much no alternatives. 2K stopped in 2013, and I think RBI baseball stopped in 2023. I miss the good 'ol days of the Show, but it seems like we're long past that. Is it time for an alternative baseball sim?

    Yes. They need competition.

There are better simulators (Out of the Park Baseball) and even fun arcade style baseball (Super Mega Baseball) but there is nothing else that combines the all the elements into a single title like The Show.

I stopped reading at „pay-to-win“ … declassifies all the rest, too bad

The show a pay 2 win ? You need to take a look at other sports franchises.

I do think that MLBTS needs competition in the worst way. As much as I know after a year or two I'd regret it, but EA needs to drop the "Super Mega" title and jump back into the MLB games (SDS does NOT have an exclusivity license). I'm sure knowing they had competition it would be better than average by comparison. I'd be willing to give them a chance to see what they could do on modern hardware.

I said "becoming" if you can read. I'm well aware of other gaming franchise's, thank you very much.
