    I do find that strange. I really expected them to come hot and heavy today and tomorrow.

    All we have gotten today is a generic graphic for the next roster update.

    My main hope is that they don't hide another highly revered Cardinal player behind the season collection for the third straight season. The main possibilities would be a 99 Musial or McGwire

    I'd LOVE a 99 ovr Cy Young Chris Carpenter.

    I did not intend to make this thread about the Cradinals but they are not releasing any info yet.

    Yes, a Chris Carpenter card would be nice. Bob Gibson has been the only legend starting pitcher for the Cardinals in this game for as long as I can remember. Some of the Flashback and Signature Wainwright's filled the gap but now that he has gone we are back to only Gibson.

    My wishlist includes MVP Willie McGee (Drop Ludwick for Willie) and Hall of Fame Switch Hitting catcher Ted Simmons.

    And we have our first reveal. I assume these are Team Affinity Cards. Are we seeing a theme? At first I thought something about teams who drafted these players but it does not hold up for Nolan Ryan and Jonah Heim.

    Oh goodie a 3rd A's Mark Mcgwire card while the Cardinals still have 0.

    Why the F do they do this, I really despise the game this year. So sloppy with no balance.

    Maybe we get another Ryan Ludwick card!

    Well my guess is- it paves the way for a 99 Cardinals card.

    @Dolenz_PSN

    It’s definitely the new Team Affinity series. The question is, what is the bottom half of the card? I hope it’s something similar to a captain- an incentive to use these cards for strategy. My fear is that it’s something hokey like the snapshot or Incognito cards that have nothing to do with gameplay.

    Thoughts anyone? We know Randy Johnson is another of these.

    I realize that.

    The question is will I still be playing at that stage?

    I had thought early career cards, but Ryan would be a met or Angel in that case

    Im worried about whatever is starting in the bottom right of those cutoffs, it could be taking up too much space on the card

    Otherwise these look like something that could have been an actual early 90s card set aesthetically

    @Dolenz_PSN They have such a terrible model. They release the best cards in late fall and winter when no one is playing in HOPES that it will bring in players. But better cards wont bring in players on a dead game at that phase. They would beef up their early and mid season numbers with better cards

    I am sure some people come back for them but I am not usually one of those people

    @Dolenz_PSN Maybe you’ll get a 99 Cardinal McGwire…

    Yeah, really does make no sense, but I am sure it translates to dollars somehow.

    They release the best cards in October/November because thats when they should be released. Power creep is generally a good thing to keep players playing, and people like the feel of progression in general (which is a large reason why they hate seasons as it undoes progression)

    I really doubt they bank on the cards drawing many people back that late in the season, although they probably do get back a few of the madden crowd.

    Why would they refuse to show the bottom of these cards?

    A guess that's probably wrong, but why not:
    The series is called "Stadium Club" with a picture of the home stadium on the bottom of the card.

    I wouldn't mind that, I think that they should show what stadium that they played at in their career

    That also allows for the eventuality of the secondary cards (Headliners, Ranked, Collection, etc). In this specific case, you could have Nolan repping the Astrodome and someone like Biggio repping Enron/Minute Maid.

    I think these card are out of position cards so they cant show the bottom half. Cant wait for catcher Machado
