I’ve had great luck with him in the past and just took him for my silver 1 pack. So far in conquest games I’m doing very good with him but I use him almost every year so I’m use to his swing and stance

I had no success with sandberg last year. But it may just take time. I started off like 1-22 with Hornsby last year but once I figured him out he was one of my best hitters for the rest of the game cycle. So you might just need a little more time.

    Underrated thought process right here.

We get used to the idea that getting better cards is an immediate gratification, due to unlocking or packing or buying them being an immediate thing. But getting the cards to actually perform is entirely different. Personally, I give them 100 ABs as a sample size to figure out if it's just me or the card. A lot of my favorite cards of all time would never have been if I only gave them a 30 AB sample size.

His stance takes a little getting used too, but I think you are asking all of the right questions. I sure someone in here has success with him and can help you. I, for one, will be taking Posey at silver 1, as he was my end game catcher upon his 99 SS release last year.

Yeah, I was thinking about Posey, but I'm so close to getting Biggio and I figured I'd start him first. If I don't like him there, I'm going Posey or Minneo next.

I took Minneo first and he is a beast. My average is .210 over 80 RS games and in 150 ab's hes hitting .330. Needless to say he is the only person I can hit over .270 with

I'm with you on this. I've typically given guys anywhere from 150-200 AB. I did finally get a solid hit with him in my last RS game and it was an oppo HR on a fastball low and away. I'm just starting to play RS this game cycle, but I was having so much success with Edwards that it's tough benching him. Edwards was hitting near .350 for me and turns every single into a double with his speed on the bases.
I've been playing Sandberg at 3b, but I just got FOTF Torres and he's smashing the ball. Then I completed the AL East which was my last division for the whole AL, which gave me Alomar and Biggio. Gonna go crazy and throw Biggio behind the plate to see how he does and and Alomar while just ride the bench until I decide on Sandberg. I want him to work though.

That Fotf Torres card smashes the ball. I use him at SS with sandberg at 2nd. My only gripe with Torres is he’s slow. Sandberg ain’t bad with that 80 speed

I love sandberg.....but he is a gap, centerfielder hitter....always hits it either up the middle or in the CF -rf gap. Expect more from the card but it is what it is.

The patch actually hurt him. It’s honestly like swinging a wet noodle. Patches hurt certain players

He leads off for me since he can do a little of everything. Hitting around .380 with him. You have to give a player at least 100 abs imo before cutting ties.

With you. I did that with the gold Orioles 2B,was hitting .150 in 35 abs, when I finished what I was doing he was .347 in 130 abs

What does your OF look like? Who do you have at SS? Both Biggio (LF/RF?) and Edwards (CF) have OF secondaries and Edwards even has SS eligibility.

I am still rocking LS Bell at 1B, LS Albies at 2B and LS Grandal at C because I play so well with them (when I get the first 2 players FotF I’ll be set since I almost have FotF Posey and will be taking 99 Posey at silver 1 more than likely-unless I take with the FotF).

He can only turn on inside pitches, definitely don't try to turn on anything away or even mid. He's fine as long as you go with the pitch, his swing doesn't allow you to pull pitches that aren't meant to be pulled like a Trout or a Gallo would easily and often do
