Why buy ??

I'm genuinely intrigued to see what, if any, upgrades there are to several modes. I can imagine DD got a strong look after the largely negative feedback on sets, maybe they give some love to Stadium Creator and RTTS finally? Maybe the uniform creator suite got some updating with patches that we can put on the jerseys as well? I think maybe some audio tweaks…like the result matching the sound of the contact? I hear the P/P sound an awful lot on shallow fly balls, and a slight “tick” on screaming liners sometimes. In terms of running, I’d like to see more responsiveness out of the runners and not so much input lag. AI fielding could be toned down again as it got back to 20 foot dives on worm burners they’ve no business getting to. Pitchers also need to stop being a vacuum for anything bounced up the middle as well

There's nothing wrong with taking a year off. I did. Works wonders. Highly recommend.

@jake93436 Because it’s baseball and I love baseball. Plus, it’s just $100 bucks which to me is nothing.
Stop comparing them to 2K. They aren’t going to pay 20 people to provide their voice nor are they going to have a 200 GB sized game. They’ve said this so many times over the years about keeping the file size as small as possible. They’re not tripling it to clone one of the worst rated sports games ever made.

@raesONE-
I agree wholeheartedly!
I’m on the “buy the game in the off-season when it is $10” program and am much happier now. -

I'm just curious why are people so quick to seem to purchase or want to get the new game for me? Really there's nothing that stands out unless there's massive overhauls in road to the show franchise and stadium creators in my opinion
Also, I would like a massive overhaul and commentary. They're bringing guest commentary, speakers, minor league prospects guys from the All-Star game. You know just something to give the game in commentary, more realism and franchise mode. That would make a massive massive difference. You know they do the same thing in NBA 2K. They rotate commentators for a game cuz they even have guest commentators and speakers. So why not do the same thing for baseball?
Who plays with the commentary even on? Do yourself a favor, turn the crowd volume off, commentary off, and just listen to the sweet sounds of ball on bat, ball on mitt.

I agree. I may be adhering to this thinking again in the future too. I bought 21 and 23, but I've often been quick to sell games by the end of the playoffs. However, I think I’m gonna be stopping that. I’ll likely get 24, but I may take at least a year off after that while just continuing to play 24 off and on. Though I do think there are things that haven’t been perfect in the series over the years, I never really thought sports video games would start struggling this much, such as EA Sports NHL, which is still absolute trash.

Don't even get me started on the NHL series...last week(might have been the week before), they released three patches/tuners in five days...completely broke the game...EASHL is flat out unplayable now.
IMHO it's due to having zero competition. To your point, The Show was at some of its best with 2K around, same as NHL. Once the competition disappeared mediocrity took over for the most part

Because I like playing video baseball, and this is the best one produced. Unless you know of a better one, I’m all ears.

I googled it and didn't see anything about a video game with this name.

It's very very hard to say that the show is better than this Japanese game. I played it for a whole year and literally it's exact same controls. Same hitting same picture in the same morning. Same fielding the only better thing is road to the show for this. You start out in high school and you progress from high school into the pros. It is just an amazing amazing game all around

Super Mega 4 for fun pick-up-and-play. OOTP for franchise. MLBtS is the all-rounder.
If I buy early (I might not buy at all) it will be because of the thrill of packs being new and filling out that binder opening week. Working towards completing the LS. It is for a lot of people an exhilarating time. As many bones as I have to pick with SDS, not gonna lie about this one.

@jake93436 Unfortunately for me, I don't read Japanese and there isn't a translation available for their website. Even if there were, all the menus for the game are in Japanese too (from what I could determine). Also, it doesn't appear there has been an update for five years.
@SuntLacrimae50 SM 4 is too cartoonish for me. I've seen it on Gamepass and I've passed. OOTP looks promising. It too is a bit too cartoonish for me, but is an analysts dream. The animation reminds me of old console (very old) baseball but with better resolution. I will delve deeper into this on Steam. Thank you.

This is the only game I buy and play. $160 (Digital Deluxe + PSN Subscription) for 1387 hours of play comes out to about 11 cents an hour. Compare that a movie ticket, a Six Flags pass, a Caribbean cruise, or going to a real MLB game (oh my!) and it's the bargain of a lifetime.
Also...
-
@SaveFarris It’ll go up slightly. PSN got bumped up by $20 for the essential tier. Going of $160 that’s what I think you have since the digital deluxe is $100.

I was a hardcore player of franchise mode in NHL for a while. But if you play that game a lot, which I had done every year since 2006 until this past year, you’ll see how insanely easy it is to score—even if you play on Superstar and have all the sliders set so that they’re fair. Franchise mode is still absolutely no fun and the series continues to just be insanely unrealistic. Just look at this link. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/ypl2kR_5nBo I absolutely destroyed the CPU in all ten games I played in Franchise mode in 24, but then I quit because I had absolutely no motivation to play the game again. In my opinion, EA is just all out for the money and there have for years just been way too many aspects of that series that have been neglected. I don’t necessarily want to think that, but I don’t think have a choice given what I’ve read and what I’ve been seeing in the series for years now. This year I might just buy and keep The Show 24 and the upcoming NCAA Football game. Then I can alternate between playing the two well into next year if I want and avoid getting burned out. I’m definitely not planning on buying NHL 25.
