And we have bi-weekly ratings (knee-[censored] reactions) for a reason. Some are just applied differently .
And it’s every three weeks this year -

Because I asked them to keep all Astros low because there were already too many Gatekeepers in the AL West. Kirby Yates was a Diamond until last year despite having a 12.46 ERA in the 6 games he played in 2020, missing 2021 and only appearing in 9 games in 2022. And before that he had one really good year in 2019.
So, in my humble opinion, ratings are all made up.
Degrom is the second highest Live Series in the game and he’s not pitched a full season since 2020 where he pitched 12 games in the Covid year. Also, I’m pretty sure OP might be Yordan’s dad or something. Trust me, I get it. Just rewatch his HRs against Robbie “middle middle” Ray and Alvarado. As a lifelong Pujols fan, whenever I had to argue that he was better than well, everyone…I’d just watch Game 3 and Game 5 again and again.
Hahaa. I like and agree with most of your post. Also, I am not Yordan's dad, as he is the dad of most of the MLB pitchers.
Anyway, my son is a higher level PG (Perfect Game) player and we have met many current/former players. There isn't a dude better than Yordan. He deserves a lot more respect than he is getting from this game and in general. Honestly, I can't think of another player I would want up to the plate, with the game on the line.
In 2023 Yordan has probably been the most clutch hitter in the game. That being said, it's not even June and the ratings are based on 3 yr algorithms. If he continues to hit like this in the clutch, with RISP, high WAR, etc, then I can see it.....but for now, if I were pitching, I'd still be more concerned about pitching to a guy like Judge or Ohtani than Yordan....for now anyway.....

A glorified DH or an above average fielder and hitter? Which one is going to be rated higher?
-
Mookie is on pace for 34 HRs, 117 Runs and 95 RBIs with an OBP of .364 and SLG of .522. And while playing all over the field.
Are you’re saying he should be downgraded because of Batting Average? Batting Average?

You would rather Aaron Judge? The guy who hit .139 last year in the playoffs, vs the guy who walked off multiple playoff games, including the HR which basically wrapped up the WS.

Mike Trout opens MLBTS 23 as an 89. And... fight!

Yordan has gunned people at the plate and makes every play he should. You obviously don't watch the Astros on a consistent basis. He isn't the best range wise, but he is good in the field.
Ironically, I am thinking about using Alvarez's Kaiju card in LF with the Betts Captain (95+ ARM ACC). lol
Have you used Yordan's card in LF? He will receive +10 Fielding boost, but I am a little concerned about his Speed and Reaction.

Compare the hitting stats of Mookie (.251) to Yordan and tell me this game isn't about bias? Funny, when Verlander had a low ERA with the Astros, he was always an 85/86. Now, his highest ERA in years with the Mets and he's still a high diamond.
My guess in the difference would be that Mookie is a better all around player. Alvarez isn't even listed in the outfield for the AS ballot and for good reason. If I need a DH, Yordan would be second on my list, where Mookie is one of the most consistent well rounded players in MLB. Wasn't Verlander in the low 90's for most of last year? The two years before that he was out for TJ and still had good cards.

Where are the three year average people now? Verlander goes from a high diamond [with the Mets] down to a gold when he is dealt back to the Astros. I like the game and gameplay more than most, but my biggest issue has always been the bunk/non-transparent rating system. It's just a bunch of biased people on the West coast imparting their biases.

I love how you say West Coast when the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox are the most overrated teams in the game.

I am sure some are from the East coast as well. The only truth, is that they are biased.

Your original question has been answered, and while you are still beating on the trash can about this, Mookie has played into top 5 MVP consideration.
Give respect where it is due. While he is only batting a mere .283, he is near the top in most categories....All near his career averages.
Betts:
HR 31 (3rd)
Runs 93 (3rd)
RBI 77 (6th)
WAR 5.3 (4th)
OPS .960 (4th)
BB 68 (5th)
XBH 62 (2nd) -
I liked the Mookie better before the update.
The 120+ power v lhp combined w the clutch was money between my 99 Ohtani and 99 Joc -

Verlander dropping to gold is not surprising. Not only has his ERA been a lower than usual this year (worse in Hou), his WHIP has been noticably worse and that has not improved all year. It is now August, so he was given time to get that going in the right direction. If he was a higher diamond to start the year, then he may not have dropped to gold.
2022: .0829
2023: 1.146Regardless, I expect Verlander to be dominant in the post-season and obtain diamond again. Your Astros, along with the Braves, are playing surperior to everyone else. That should make for an excellent WS matchup if things keep going in that direction.

Bro.... I have been complaining about this for awhile. It's like some big named players who struggle get favoritism toward their overall such as Verlander, Byron Buxton, etc. Yet players like Marcus Stroman, D.J. Lemahieu and Luis Arraez will get dropped as soon as they aren't performing at a MVP, Triple Crown or Cy Young level. I mean Cody Belllinger stayed a silver for 2 seasons of awful hitting and finally puts together some solid hitting and instantly hits diamond along with a great program release. Josh Bell one the silver slugger last year, started off a gold and struggled a little early and was a bronze in an update. Now he's batting well over .300 since he's been a Marlin and.... oh, he's still a Bronze.... funny how that works.

Was a gold with Mets, 83 still an 83 with 1 start with Astros lol. Since July 24th https://mlb23.theshow.com/roster_updates/15
