How is a guy batting .251 a high diamond?
-
Where are the three year average people now? Verlander goes from a high diamond [with the Mets] down to a gold when he is dealt back to the Astros. I like the game and gameplay more than most, but my biggest issue has always been the bunk/non-transparent rating system. It's just a bunch of biased people on the West coast imparting their biases.

I love how you say West Coast when the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox are the most overrated teams in the game.

I am sure some are from the East coast as well. The only truth, is that they are biased.

Your original question has been answered, and while you are still beating on the trash can about this, Mookie has played into top 5 MVP consideration.
Give respect where it is due. While he is only batting a mere .283, he is near the top in most categories....All near his career averages.
Betts:
HR 31 (3rd)
Runs 93 (3rd)
RBI 77 (6th)
WAR 5.3 (4th)
OPS .960 (4th)
BB 68 (5th)

I liked the Mookie better before the update.
The 120+ power v lhp combined w the clutch was money between my 99 Ohtani and 99 Joc -

Verlander dropping to gold is not surprising. Not only has his ERA been a lower than usual this year (worse in Hou), his WHIP has been noticably worse and that has not improved all year. It is now August, so he was given time to get that going in the right direction. If he was a higher diamond to start the year, then he may not have dropped to gold.
2022: .0829
2023: 1.146Regardless, I expect Verlander to be dominant in the post-season and obtain diamond again. Your Astros, along with the Braves, are playing surperior to everyone else. That should make for an excellent WS matchup if things keep going in that direction.

Compare the hitting stats of Mookie (.251) to Yordan and tell me this game isn't about bias? Funny, when Verlander had a low ERA with the Astros, he was always an 85/86. Now, his highest ERA in years with the Mets and he's still a high diamond.
Bro.... I have been complaining about this for awhile. It's like some big named players who struggle get favoritism toward their overall such as Verlander, Byron Buxton, etc. Yet players like Marcus Stroman, D.J. Lemahieu and Luis Arraez will get dropped as soon as they aren't performing at a MVP, Triple Crown or Cy Young level. I mean Cody Belllinger stayed a silver for 2 seasons of awful hitting and finally puts together some solid hitting and instantly hits diamond along with a great program release. Josh Bell one the silver slugger last year, started off a gold and struggled a little early and was a bronze in an update. Now he's batting well over .300 since he's been a Marlin and.... oh, he's still a Bronze.... funny how that works.
