Getting Killed by directional hitters

Hitting is slowly reverting back to 22. Bloops , foul balls and 99 percent of runs are homeruns. But directional hitters do not dominate in this game because it’s ring only and that’s it.

What y’all crying about today

Edit: just checked out your record. Above statement stands true.
Anyone that "checks a record" is a great human being.
It’s an obsession for some people. Some guys haven’t even played a road game for 4 years because their online record in MLB the show is about as important as things gets…..checks game history….ohhhhh crazy…..it’s the guy talking about looking up records everyday lmfao
Yup these pussies that Bat 400
but will do anything to stay on All star and play lower levels to just kill everyone and brag about their records ... Is that you [censored] ? @The_CanucklerDude, nobody is doing this. That’s some kind of Q’anon style claim right there.

If someone is squaring up every ball, they're not using directional. It means they're just really good at hitting. Try using directional and let me know if you square up every ball. That's not how it works lol.
-
I am switching to directional after reading this. I better go 12-0 in my next run
-
Man my records 9 and 25 online (mainly bc I did missions alot tbh for the ranked program and even I don't complain about directional. But to be fair I lost a lot more than I should of because I was focusing on xp and innings and stuff rather than wins at that time

How do you check someone's record?

How do I know ? every single
ball you throw is Square up . Just point in the direction and swing simpleYep that’s definitely proof someone is using directional. Here’s a good follow up question: If what you’re saying is true, why do none of the top players use this method of hitting? Or better yet, why are you not using this method? Have a good day kicking your feet and pitching a temper tantrum!

I wish there was an option, just like cross play, to turn off CAPS and created stadiums.

You could easily go find that out for yourself, but apparently you'd rather complain on the forum, despite being COMPLETELY wrong about what you are complaining about. If you paint the corners against someone using directional, they aren't hitting much of anything, much less everything.
-
Oh look... another one is losing against a directional hitter lol.
If you think its so superior, why not use it yourself? -

If your opponent dots the corners, then Directional Hitting is basically useless. Directional may be somewhat useful in Moments and vs CPU on Rookie.

We should have a option to only play Zone Hitting in RS .
It is not fair that they play on easy mode and I have the disadvantage of having to square up
the ball .You can't even throw a strike to these guys.
How do you pitch to them ? If they lay off balls which is easy because they don't even have to square the ball just point in the direction and let the CPU do the rest .
You can tell right off the bat if you are facing a good
directional player . They hit everything hardWhats the point ? At least nerf it
To beat a directional hitter, throw fastballs up and in all day.
They can't get to it. If they do, it's a fly out or a foul ball.As a former directional enthusiast, I don't blame anyone for switching from zone.
Zone was always supposed to be high skill/high reward.
Now it's high skill, "meh" reward.
Like contact swing last year: You can join 'em, or lose with integrity. -

I can second that... played a lot of RS innings using directional back in '20 and '21, and the up-and-in was very weak contact if I could hit it at all.
I still won't use zone but switched to timing with analog input midway through '21 and haven't looked back... I can hit that pitch, now, but, overall, you still don't get the consistency of good contact that a skilled zone player can create for themselves by being good at throwing their reticle-eyeballs around the strike zone.
Zone may not offer the rewards it has in the past (I trust that people reporting their contact has suffered a bit are speaking truth), but it still more consistently offers a better chance for hard contact than the other interfaces.

I have a created player and I agree, they need to be taken out of DD.

Created stadiums are one of the reasons I haven't bought a PS5 yet.
Anything like that (CAS/CAP) should only be available on offline modes.

After the patch if you play someone using directional or timing hitting all you have to do is pitch them sinkers or off speed pitches low and away.
They won’t be able to hit it, litterally even with good timing 6 out of 8 times they will make no contact. If you play on HOF or up that is

Interesting... I'm still in the 600s in RS, so admittedly haven't played HOF in that mode yet, but I've played quite a few Mini Seasons and Conquest games on HOF and, with the right swing direction, I can hit just about any strike if I time it correctly. Might be that it's different head-to-head, or may be the analog input since you can target a particular third of the zone (straight up for center-cut, diagonals for inside/outside), but I haven't noticed a particular hole like I did with directional.
A couple more wins and I should hit the 700s... guess I'll find out!
