Yeah this is a no-brainer and they were definitely one of the first teams I completed. I probably won't have the LS done for many more months as I just don't make it a priority, but in a situation like this I wasn't about to make it any harder on myself.

Dumb question but what does completing the team have to do with the price of Tatis?

Uh, Tatis wont be but what a silver? Maybe a low gold? I wouldn't worry too much there will be more then enuff of em available

If you lock in and complete the Padres collection prior to his return, then you won't have to buy his card.

His LS card from last year was a 92 at the time of the suspension. Not saying he comes back into the game that high, but I feel like he will be in that 87-88 category. Then again, he might be a gold. Hard to say really.

Only other time an upcoming Transaction affected my LS Collection strategy was also Machado-related. It was 2018 and everyone and their mother knew Manny was getting traded before the deadline, so I held off completing the Orioles until after he got shipped to LA.

Kirby Yates was a diamond for 3 years without throwing a pitch. Tatis will be a high 80s or low 90s.

My prediction on Tatis IF he is released will be 87 specially since he got busted using banned substance and such. If this was an injury situation then I might say he will be a 89/90 but I think they might go 1 to 2 lower for WHY he was out but i could be wrong.

No, he won't be free, but if you have finished the Padres collection he won't be needed to do so.
Essentially the Padres collection should be cheaper now than it will be after he is added back.

And around the first week or 2, Manny was about 18k or so. That was definitely a gold mine for whoever picked him up back then as Set Completion or an investment.

Oh dang Manny is up to 60K. Why have I no patience for investments????

Manny is up to 81K/77K now. If I hadn't completed this 2 weeks ago, I'm not sure I would be rushing to complete it now. And yes, I'm bitter that I didn't buy one or two more at 35K

Got Manny for about 50, kinda forgot Tatis was returning.
Anyway, Padres are done so if I pack Tatis I have options.
Still working on landing a Trout after all these years......

I focused 100% of my stubs early on to that Padres collection. You know FT will be 200K plus.
