I do hope fielding matters more... They usually say that fielding will matter more and then it don't. However, after playing the tech test I noticed that defensed did matter in outfield, at least.

I think there will only be three diamonds for the Yankees. Judge is going to be one of the highest diamonds in the game so he will surely be very expensive, but the only other guarantees are Cole and Rodon who I see being an 88-89 so even they won't be too rare.
They will definitely have quite a few golds though between Nestor/Rizzo/Bader.

For the Angels, 2. Trout and Ohtani. For the Twins, 2. Buxton and Correa.

3 or4 for the Phils. Wheeler Nola and Turner maybe JT,another if Harper is on starting roster(similar situation as Tatis)

Well, in the ratings it makes a difference depending on the position of the player but whether that translates to the field we'll wait and see. The problem is that they don't upgrade defense during the regular updates I think that they only update them once or twice.

Angels , Trout. Ohtani , Renfroe , I think Rendon will return to diamond form . So 4 . Ward , Walsh, rengifo , will be golds .

Astros I will say Altuve, Alvarez, Tucker and maybe Bregman an 85. But I think he will be like an 83 or 84. I think most their SP will be gold, Valdez, Javier, McCullers, and Garcia probably like a 78,79.

I originally wasn't going to include him, but with all the hoopla over him signing and "everyone" saying he's the best SS ever, I figured he may start at 85 and drop from there.

Agreed. They claim a three year sample but when it’s a second year guy that ended as a diamond last season it only makes sense that they put them within a point or two of how they ended last year. Otherwise they are just admitting it’s all a joke and doing whatever they want. Same for assuming J-Rod and Peña should be diamond as well.
