Easy there, big fella! Those guys get the respect because they have a multi-year record of dominance and the hardware that goes with it. Can Wheeler get a couple more nights under his belt before we induct him into the Parthenon?

Since the playoffs started, Wheeler is the best pitcher in baseball and Nola is 2nd.
If they win this round, he becomes a Philly legend.
But I agree, he isn't quite DeGrom or Scherzer... Yet.
Cole isn't in the conversation, in my opinion. -
Both are diamond, after the playoffs both will be upgraded further and both will get very nice PS cards in the program.
I kinda think they are getting the recognition. -
He's a top 10-15 pitcher in baseball no doubt....but putting him near the top is a massive stretch.

Those guys get better cards for one main reason K/9. SDS likes that stat above all others for pitchers. Every pitcher you mention has a higher k/9 and a lower h/9 rating than Wheeler.
SDS does not know how to rate guys that are effective other ways (soft contact style pitchers) and it has been an issue for a long time.
That said. He is having a great PS and should get a really nice boosted card.

You’re so right. If it’s not 102mph or a sinker, the pitcher just isn’t viable in H2H play.

Cole isn't in the conversation, in my opinion.DeGrom, Scherzer, Verlander Kershaw. I think Cole is better than Wheeler, but he hasn’t had enough years as a top tier pitcher.
