I wish they had done this for Pujols as that was certainly just as big if not bigger. But, I do want more content always. So this is a W.

    Boo.

Of course they will have a program for him and not Pujols. He's a Yankee so they might use it as a way to flood us with even more Yankee flashbacks and legend cards.

Judge absolutely deserves it for sure but so did Pujols.

Maybe they had a break in the workload after LotF came out to prepare something for Judge. Pujols they couldnt prepare for as that came as a surprise to everyone except that one mlb network guy.
and when it became likely they were in the middle of a lot of content.
maybe they will put something together after postseason and finest( read: they really should) since the season will have stopped adding content by then.
(To sds: if you werent thinking of it before, think of it now)

Hahahaha, great post. It definitely took everyone by surprise as he had 6 Home Runs going into August. @Dolenz_PSN do you remember when his hot streak started and how many HRs and RBIs he had?

For just a bit of context, Albert has 68 RBIs in 101 games. Many of those were 1 AB (305 ABs total).
Juan Soto has 62 RBIs in 152 games (531 ABs total).

Now before anyone jumps on me with stats that require a scientific calculator, I know Juan Soto played on the lowly Nats for 2/3rds of the season and RBIs are a team stat. But Pujols is plain and simple the best run producer in the history of the game not named Hank Aaron. 2,218 RBIs, 703 HRs, 3,343 Hits, 1,914 runs, 686 2Bs.

Basically he's the machine and he should get a program.

But....Judge had an awesome year and it's very cool that a Yankee passed Maris and a loveable one at that.

I would love to see something later if they would do that but I am not holding my breath.

As for the workload, even if it was a longshot they could have been preparing for it all year. Then, even if he did not make it to 700 HRs, they could have just made it a career retrospective program.

The only usable Pujols was the chase pack RotY that came out at the start of the year. Good on SDS for making his MS cardstraight up free and no program to grind. Just giving the people a godlike 99 Pujols before he disappears for a few years. Judge will be in next years game, and this card will likely appear in other years.

@Dolenz_PSN @Ericulous1_PSN I figured it was in Twitter but for some reason it didn't come up for me.

I got the email notification for the Cal supercharged card two days after they supercharged it.

Pujols was without a doubt a bigger accomplishment. 21 years of consistency and elite production. Anyone can have a good year, freakin Brady Anderson had 50 HRs for the Os for crying out loud

I agree that Pujols should have been given the program treatment, but not fair at all to dismiss the season Judge is having by merely saying "anyone can have a good year" and comparing him to Brady Anderson of all people The guy is having a season for the ages.

I'm not going to quote any stats or WAR but just based on the eye test I'm not sure you can claim he was one of the best run producers of all time. He was phenomenal for the Cards his first 10 years in the league, but he sucked for the Angel's. I'm not sure they had ever been that steep of a drop off in production from a guy in his prime like that especially after a huge sample size of MVP like play. I always felt like while people knew him he was always under the radar because he played in the middle of the U.S. While a Cardinal he was arguably the best player in the game not named Barry Bonds. Which always makes me wonder what happened to Albert. It's not like he was the only player on the Angel's, he had some solid hitters around him while he was there. Maybe injuries effected his play more than we knew. Maybe too much pressure on the West coast? I mean the Angles almost cut him in the middle of his massive contract. Anyway, I'll always remember Albert in his first stint as a Cardand he should have gotten a program.

Meh, I think Judges is more of a big deal. Pujols has been irrelevant for like the last 10 years. He doesnt get a pass for stealing all that money. Judge is the current and future of this game. Pujols and his longevity is amazing, especially after having a sub par career in Anaheim. He could have shattered the records if he played like he did and has in St Louis. But 62 is a huge deal. Unfortunately lessened by Bonds, Sosa and Mc Gwire.

He just moved past Babe Ruth to be second place all time in RBIs, behind only Hank Aaron.

Granted he may not have been the most consistent through all of his seasons but the end result is the same.

It is completely fair bro!!! Take a look at Judge’s career numbers. Yes, it’s a season for the ages, but it’s still one season. Pujols, Bonds, Miggy……Judge is not even close to the same category.

Before we compare Judge in his prime against Pujols in his decline maybe compare them during the same ages.

Judge has played 5 full seasons (> 100 games) and in his full seasons his Avg and HR totals are

    .284 and 52 (Age 25)
    .278 and 27 (Age 26)
    .272 and 27 (Age 27)
    .287 and 39 (Age 29)
    .311 and 62 (age 30)

    Pujols at the same ages

    .330 and 41 (age 25)
    .331 and 49 (age 26)
    .327 and 32 (age 27)
    .327 and 47 (age 29)
    .312 and 42 (age 30)

In those years judge hit 197 HRs and Pujols hit 211 while Pujols hit for better average.

I am not trying to diminish Judge as he has been fantastic but it seems people want to compare Judge in his age 24-30 seasons to Pujols in his age 32 to 41 seasons with the Angels.

I respect your opinion, but your opinion is wrong! It was NOT “lessened”. The owners were in on it. I refuse to put anything on the players. The owners were so happy the turnstiles were spinning after the strike, they didn’t give a darn what the players were taking. And If you think Pujols “stole” money, then they’re all stealing money. Soooooooo many players are overpaid.

No one is tying to compare what you are comparing except for you. It's great what Pujols has done, but don't let your homerism blind you from the fact that Pujols' angels contract was atrocious. He single handedly gave the Angels ownership an excuse to not improve the team and gave Mike Trout and Shohei a combined 1 playoff game between them. I'll give it to Pujols as many thought he wouldn't get to 700, and by all means he's probably a top 5 hitter ever top 10 at worst, but Judge hitting 62 is absolutely more relevant than Pujols hitting 700. Quite literally no one but cardinals fans has cared about Pujols from about 2015-homerun 690. No one's dismissing what Pujols as done. Judge broke a 60 year record
