Judge is the GOAT?

Judge will and should win the MVP, IF Ohtani was in line to win a triple crown for Pitching then I would say Ohtani. Judge historic season deserves MVP. Judge is playing for a playoff team and the Angel just straight out suck with two of the best players in baseball.
Only reason Yankees are in playoff position is because of judge look at the rest of the team. Judge has almost half the teams HR and the only person hitting above .270 Yankees will fall in the Division series.

Exactly why Judge deserves the MVP he is have one of the greatest season in the last 20 years. The Angels have Trout and Othani two of the best players in Baseball and they still can not even make the Wild card.

I think future generations will be baffled that we did not recognize Bonds as the “GOAT.” He needs to be in the HOF

He shouldn't be in the HOF until Joe Jackson and Pete Rose are in. It is clear that Bonds took steroids. It is not clear the Shoeless Joe threw the 1919 world series.
The GOAT/s of Baseball are Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, and Ted Williams. If teams did not start the shift on Williams and he didn't serve his country in 3 years in his prime and near 2 seasons in his early 30's he would have 600 possibly close to 700 HR and probably another 800 hits and without the shift probably have broken Ty Cobbs record.

Lol the only reason the Yanks don’t look any better is because 4/5 teams in the ALE could make the playoffs. Almost all 5 teams are above .500 land the division as a whole is miles above lmao.
Houston plays losing records all year, The Os could probably even take them out if they get there. Whichever AL east team goes through is rolling over Houston and that borderline embarrassing division when time comes. Three teams with 80 loses vs a division with zero.

I guess people just enjoying saying or typing the word GOAT. It gets thrown around WAY too often. Judge is having a heck of a season but the dude is 30 and only in his 7th season. He's not even in the discussion yet.

just like the word 'genius' these days - apple ruined it for all of us
now you have ppl thinking they are super smart bc of hints of autism
Hey, genius, Don’t know if you know this, but being autistic and being super smart aren’t mutually exclusive. Throwing the word autism around in a negative connotation isn’t a very intelligent way to make your weak point that Apple “ruined” the word, “genius,” for “all of us.”
oh i am very well aware they aren't tied - and you are the one describing it as negative - so don't play Mother Theresa with me here you clown
Ok bud, go ahead and back track.
Nothing I’ve said on this subject can be reasonably interpreted as negative. do you think mutually exclusive means the same thing as “tied”?
I’m starting to think that you might be too dull to understand why your statement is offensive or to understand anything I say in response to it.

And to put it further into perspective, Ohtani is having a very, very comparable offensive year to Austin Riley, and he also has very comparable pitching numbers to Alek Manoah (though Manoah does have 35 more IP, which is a big deal). So he really does have the value of two all-star players. Judge is having an absolutely nutso year and will almost certainly win the MVP, but I don't think Ohtani should be forgotten (even if his team could end up in 4th place).
If Ohtani wins MVP with the year Judge is having, they should just make a separate award for Shohei. Ohtani is a phenomenal talent and we will never see anything like him again, but Judge is probably going to break the non-juiced single season homerun record. Judge is having one of the best non Bonds or Ruth offensive seasons ever. It's just really not fair to anyone if they just give the MVP to Ohtani every year. Hall of fame voters don't give 2 spits about who wins the Hank Aaron award. Ohtani might literally be taking some guys out of the hall just for existing. (Not saying Judge is a hall of famer per se, just that if Ohtani does this for 10 years and wins 9 or 10 MVP awards, he's weakening other players HOF' cases)
How do we know there is no juice involved. I agree Judge probably isn't taking performance enhancing drugs but the baseball has changed several time in recent years. The issue that I have with it is that since he is a Yankee you will hear about it forever, especially here in my area of NJ which sucks. If it was someone on say Tampa Bay or or the A's you would hear crickets. Look at Stanton he hit 59 before he became a Yankee and barely heard anything.
They have been messing with the ball for atleast the past 4 years. Sosa hit 60 HR 3 different times either juiced or corked bat and you didn't hear anything about it except 98 because he never broke the HR record of 70 or in 2001 73.
Judge isn't going to break the 73 HR in a season mark so why are we hearing so much about hitting 60 HR. An AL record please come off it the dude has walked 94 times and struck out 160 times. The year bonds hit 73 he had 177 walks and 94 strikeouts.
Jude is a good player having a great season he has played over 115 games 3 times in his career. He should have been in the HRD instead of wimping out.
I mean how do we know Ohtani isn't juicing? Or Pujols? Or Trout? We don't, but we'll never be able to enjoy these kinds of milestones or generational players if suspicion alone equates to guilt. Should we question the legitimacy of someone like Griffey Jr. simply because he played during an era where PEDs were at their most rampant?
Also, I understand as a non-Yankees fan living in NJ that all this coverage must feel like overkill, but 60 home runs is a big deal. You only needed one hand to count the guys who hit that many in a season before Judge. Six players have done it now and three of those players have been directly linked to steroid use so there is no deniable plausibility when it comes to guys like McGwire/Sosa/Bonds. Before that, you have to go back quite a while. The idea of a "clean" player - who is a Yankee - beating Maris' mark is very special. One of those romantic baseball stories they talked about in Moneyball.

Thank you for bringing up the Bonds numbers. 73 bombs and 177 walks. They aren’t scared of Judge like they were terrified of Bonds and for good reason. Judge is having a great year but he’s not even close to Bonds.
-
Bonds had a .600 obp a couple years after he hit 73. That’s literally insane. A 1400 ops. I don’t think that will be matched any time soon
-
It's pretty funny to see all those diks with their I-phones to record walks and deep fly outs for nothing 🤪

I love Judge and I hope he wins the triple crown. His HR chase has been very good for baseball. He and Pujols have managed to take a little focus off the Tatis story, so that's very good. But even with the insane season he's having, I still would lean toward Ohtani for MVP. Obviously he's having a great season on both sides of the ball. And the ripple effect of only having to use one roster spot for an ace and a DH is nuts. That means you can have an extra starter to stretch out your rotation, or carry a 3rd catcher, or have a Terence Gore type player on the bench whose only job is to steal bags. That kind of roster flexibility is something no one else in the league can provide.

Not sure about non-juiced. Drugging is always three steps ahead of testing. Then the balls are certainly juiced. And finally he's playing in a little league field.
Still a great player and a great season.
You do realize that if he played all of his games at the same stadium…there are 7 stadiums where he would have MORE home runs than he does at Yankee Stadium. Also more than half the fields in the mlb still have him at 58+…..so your “little league” remark is just idiotic

He probably would be if he didn’t … well, you know. On the other side they have let in at least one player I can think of who did what Bonds did, just no where near the extreme as Bonds. Not that it makes it okay for anyone.
Even with the help, he is not the GOAT, and because of generational differences, it’s hard to say who is. Baseball is not game where personal accolades help that much. Plus there is no Michael Jordan who there isn’t anyone else in the conversation. -

One of these names is/was absolutely connected to PEDs. Now I have no proof that this player ever did; but, even if he didn’t, his name will always be connected with them. It is unfortunate.
