To those with both Brett and Randy

Which collection do you feel is worth it more? I just made 2 million stubs after the roster update but can only afford one.
Pulled degrom yesterday if that matters.
Thanks!

I see more people complain about randy, meaning 1. He is a lot of peoples ace and 2. He’s difficult to hit
Expect randy leads to more opportunities to win
This being said without any consideration to what your current lineup/roster/skill set actually is

I have had both for a while now. GB has been my best overall hitter. RJ has been my best overall pitcher. I would say it comes down to team need. Do you need a dominant and intimidating pitcher? Or do you need a 3B/1B left handed bat that will most likely be your best offensive player? Hard choice for sure.

I like both, but I would go with Randy first. You'll also get other collection rewards which can be used towards Brett later, and I think you can find other solid 1B/3B options now to hold you over. Randy Johnson is a menace, and I can't see him coming out of your top 5 in the rotation anytime soon.

I guess context would help lol

I like this Idea I didnt even consider the cards you get for the collection that go towards brett

Randy for sure. I really like Brett so no disrespect there but you can get several 3rd basemen that are close to Brett for free (Riley and Devers). This is no other pitcher like Randy for free or even cheap. Take card of LS first. That should also get you closer to Brett by getting those set cards from each LS team.
-
Randy is dominant and while Brett is one of the best cards in the game, there are a bunch of other really good options at 3rd base. You will also get a lot of good cards from the Randy collection that are still usable like Thomas, Clemente, Utley, Trout.
-
Absolutely Randy for the reason @Pennstatefencer_MLBTS said. Which teams/divisions do you still need to finish to get Randy? There may he several pieces that help you towards Brett and you may even use them?
For instance, if you still need the NL, Clemente is a beast this year.
Plus I am terrible online....terrible. I can attribute several wins to Randy alone.
-
IMO, Randy is a must have, because you get all the other players with him. Brett is force in the lineup but you can work on him later. Randy will probably always be the #1 SP, although some very nice options to follow him.
-
Always complete the live series first. Everything else falls into line
-
You can basically win games with really good pitching and small ball. So Randy all the way. Plus like the others said above with Randy you get Frank Thomas,Roberto Clemente,Chase Utley,Kenley Jansen,Michael Young,Mike Mussina,Dallas Keuchel….ok don’t worry about That Mussina he kinda sucks compared to the new Mussina. But still you get a lot. And yes Brett is really good but I don’t think he’s that much better than Riley,Devers or Santo. Even Brett Baty is really good. Also you’ll get way more cards to make it easier to get Brett.
-
Everyone out here finishing collections and I’m just here with three program bosses.
-
It almost doesn’t matter. Randy is the best SP ever and Brett is the best infielder ever. You can’t go wrong either way. The only dumb part is without Randy you still have about 10-15 options for outliers. And a lot of them have Sinker outliers which is even better.
The more important thing IMO is doing one of them ASAP so you can use them for as long as you can. Don’t wait another month to decide.

Randy helps get u to Brett.
