Y’all are too young or I’m too old, but this dude was better than current day Mookie. Had an OPS+ of about 160 from 2012-2015. He was very good.

He had one good year in 2012. He ain't better than Mookie.

What are your thoughts. Is this the best SDS could do?

Yikes….guess I should have sold my extras yesterday…..expecting these will now drop.

Nothing against cutch, I’ve liked his cards from previous years, but just not an elite level collection reward player.

How do you know what his attributes will be? Lol you guys are complaining about the card without even knowing what the card entails

I don’t, I made no allusion to his attributes. I’m also not complaining, merely postulating that he is not as significant/popular a player as the larger fan base would prefer…..in that, assuming people will not be chasing him as actively card prices for the collection will actually drop before the release.

If he’s cracked and has insane attributes why wouldn’t people chase him? That’s what I’m alluding to. That’s like saying he may have the best attributes in the game so far but no one will want him because his name isn’t Griffey or Mantle and that’s not how it works.

If the attributes are insane(which they will be bc umm he’s a collection) people will use him

All these content creators will be using him- this thread makes no sense is basically what I’m saying

Yeah I agree. People will call any card an L that isn't Trout, Griffey, Mantle, or Chipper tbh. It's been like that for ever. I've been using those same cards for years. I'm happy to use different players for once

    Exactly

Mookie had 2018 (Red Sox were cheating that year but whatever) That’s the only season he had that is comparable to Mccutchens 2012-2014 seasons. He was better than Mookie look it up.

How can you even ask/answer this question without seeing the cards attributes

    Like seriously

Easily, nobody wants McCutchen as the collection reward, except maybe a fanboy like you.

A fanboy? you guys are beyond absurd

You have no clue what the card will look like or play like attributes wise- you’re just whining because you’re not satisfied- you know who does that right? I’ll let you figure it out

He could have the same exact attributes as a 99 Mantle/Griffey/Trout/Mays, but I just think people justify it to themselves that those iconic players are worth the investment of this kind of collection solely based on their perceived name value.

It will most definitely be an incredible card, but there will always be players that are more attracted to the name than the stats on the back. Nothing wrong with that either.

Big L. I suck at hitting with Cutch. For the collection it should be a big name card. Cutch is not a big name player he never really was. He was decent yes but not a HOF player

W, assuming his stats are boosted beyond belief. I get sick of using Mantle, Griffey, Mays, and all the other all-time greats every single year. He has a great swing and I’ll be glad to use someone different. Love the Brett card and will likely love this one.

You nailed it here. Yes, this will undoubtedly be a great card attributes wise and theoretically that's all that should matter. That's why some people use their CAP on their God Squad and why guys like Trea Turner, Buxton and Julio Rodriguez are considered God tier despite the fact that Julio has yet to finish his rookie year, Buxton has yet to complete ANY year and Trea has been great for a few years but has certainly not made the HOF yet.

Conversely, a player like Ralph Kiner who led the league in Home Runs 7 straight years right after fighting a World War or Stan Musial who has 7 batting titles and over 3,600 hits can be considered unusable because they aren't fast.

Then there are people like me who care far more about what a player did in real life then some made up attributes. Add the fact that I mostly play offline and attributes no longer carry as much wait. I didn't care that Pedro had an average H/9. Offline he was dominant.

Neither group is wrong, we all like what we like. I agree with the poster who says wait to see the attributes but I also agree with those who are letdown because they were hoping for a legend and not an above average player with a 4 year peek.

This will be a fantastic card in terms of how it plays even if the name isn't the most spectacular.

    W. It's a finest card so his Speed will be in the 90s, power should range from 80/100 on both sides (If not more), fielding will be a diamond, and it should be one of the best contact cards so far this year. I'll happily take this card as a collection reward.

His 2020 card was amazing and that was only a 97, 112 con R, 94 con L, 83 Pow R, 99 Pow L, 83 Vis, 101 Clu, 85 Spd, 70 Stl, 70 BRG. Now imagine what his numbers will be like for a finest 99.

I would’ve loved Mays, but I will admit, a juiced Cutch will probably be a better card than Mays because he has a better swing.. Unless they fix Willie, his major whole vs the up and in outlier sinker is very difficult for the average player, so this a low key W.

Biggest L in video game sports history without a doubt.

    Cutch not even HOF

He won’t make my OF with Griffey, Mantle already locked in when they get released.

    Garbage man

Wait, how are you going to get Mantle, Griffey, and Mays later, when according to this post you were uninstalling the game if Cutch was the Collection Player? 🤨🤔

Huge W in my opinion! I have never used an extremely juiced Cutch, but I love him as a ballplayer and this to me is so much more refreshing than the same things we always get.

I’m thinking he will be more like 115/125 contact, 110/120 power after looking at the Maz Retro we got recently. Should be excellent in the current LHP META.

When I first saw that tweet I thought Cutch was going to be in the next HL pack. Was really pumped for him as I love his swing.I guess I'll have to wait a while to get him now.

That's exactly what I was thinking, while being one of the best fielding cards, and 95 speed is not out of the question.

It will probably be a real solid card. I was hoping for Legend collection not another Battle Royal/World Series type of reward.

Naah, love the player but I like using the Griffeys, 99 Trouts and Bonds (hopefully) of the world.

I'm happy for you guys that are excited about McCutchen. Personally I'm not thrilled about him so I will save what stubs I have. Only issue I see for me is that he will now be required to complete the next collection which may or may not be a player I would want or like. I would hate for the next one to be Mays, Mantle, Griffey or even Chipper for that matter and then not have enough to do that collection. Congrats to the masses.
