How do I improve my pitching?

New controller always helps too. In case you're using an older one. The toggle sticks sway and get loose.

I have been playing a lot of ranked seasons and I even made it to division series, but I have one problem. My team ERA is 7.11 and I really want to improve it because it has costed me at least 10 games. Any tips?
Pitch tunnel on the black. This is a struggle for most players.

I would probably start practicing with pin point. I never used meter so I can't speak to it much. But Pinpoint seems to be the most accurate if you can get it down

Easy…..can’t improve it. All you can do is throw the ball and watch it fly, location and pitch selection don’t matter. It’s a real treat when your opponent fouls off balls in the dirt and swings early every time. Those are the best players in this game, they will hit moonshots.

Hard to say without knowing how you pitch. I think there are a lot of ways to pitch effectively in this game, just like the real game. It all comes down to keeping the opponent off balance. I always take a batter or two to see if I can figure out my opponents approach at the plate. Are they a free swinger, do they have good plate discipline, are there certain pitches or locations they can’t lay off, are there certain pitches or locations they are sitting, do they struggle righty righty or lefty lefty. From there I develop an approach and I continue to adjust as needed. Also remember that timing trumps pci placement, so I would always try and make sure you are mixing pitches and not allowing them to just time up similar pitches….meaning don’t just feed sliders and changes or sinkers and four seams. If you do this, they will have much better success just because they will have an easier time getting their timing down.

The figuring out the approach thing helped a lot in my last game, He was crushing slurves for strikes then you throw it in the dirt and he swings.

I use meter bc im usually doing other stuff while I play and im a WS player and have a good record so you can win with it. but your approach and pitch selection is the only thing that truly matters. hard to offer advice without seeing. we can friendly anytime just dm me, but typically you can fall into a pattern that ppl realize. also sometimes thats fine but you have to be smart. for instance I pitch and have dominated with jackson jobe, to lefties you know im throwing a slider, I know I am too down and in, but the thing is im throwing it just inside enough that its a foul or a ground out. hard to give perfect tips to someone without seeing but also velocity matters

I think I probably will go into pinpoint one day, but my main problem with pinpoint is how many people I walk.

I fare a lot better with pulse than with meter, personally. I’m never going to master pinpoint, but with pulse I hit my target more often than not.

Same, I used pinpoint in MLB2K13.

It's a game of chess. You need to know what your opponent expects you to throw, what pitches he wants to hit, and which ones hes afraid of. And change your locations/pitch choice every couple innings to keep it unpredictable. If your pitcher gets in trouble pull him in most cases. Use your 5th starter as a long reliever.

OP is on xbox, right? Isn't pinpoint still messed up? I tried it the other day and about half the time the down stroke stopped about halfway.

You need a Power A or Thrustmaster controller for pinpoint to work. I’d suggest getting a Power A because they're much cheaper, but both of those controllers have been confirmed to work.

Try tunneling your pitches and don’t hang breaking pitches high. Throw curveballs and most breaking pitches out of the zone. Start them in the zone and then they break out of the zone. Use hitters swings as weaknesses. If hitters have long swings throw hard fastballs inside. There a lot of different things you do to keep a hitter uncomfortable in the box. Watch professional pitches and try to learn from the best,
Also pinpoint is a must. Without pinpoint a bunch of pitches will end up in a terrible spot in the zone.
