Why do you guys play?

I was very into the game playing mini seasons A LOT cause I was chasing after Randy Johnson but now that I completed it I find myself not playing as much cause I’m not playing for anything really lol. I have all the cards I want except for Gregg whom I don’t think it’s worth grinding for all the stubs. But I have LS completed with 300k stubs and even 56 unopened packs granted most of them are show packs but still.
What do you guys play for after completing what you were going after? How do you make the game seem refreshing is what I’m asking lol.

For the competition.
My playing days are long over, but the need to compete never goes away.
Also, my kids are older, and I don't drink, so it's my way to unwind after a day of work. -
You challenge yourself to do things you’ve never done before like make World Series in ranked seasons. I’m talking 900 rating not 300-400 innings
Clean up your settings to make it more online friendly and work on strategies to win a 9 inning competitive game

Clean up my settings to make it more online friendly? What you mean by that? I’d love to play online more if I didn’t suck so bad so please elaborate

Randy Johnson, George Brett, Joe Mauer and Babe were the first big benchmark. There will be more. As for the above names and all the cards we've collected thus far...now we've opened all our Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) gifts, now we get to use them.
I play to try and complete future collections and my eventual goal to collect every Legend and flashbacks cards.
I play to challenge myself to complete every program, to finish every BR path. I love the Reveals of programs and card but mostly I enjoy using a variety of players and there sre so many more cards coming.

I like playing baseball. And for me the game looks really good and plays really good. My friends who have seen it are amazed at how realistic it is. For me, it's just entertainment. Not much about collecting cards since I don't have an interest in that

I like baseball and being a Tigers fan I'm not too inclined to watch many RL games this year because they stink (again).
After finishing the LS collection and now the Brett collection there's not much motivation atm, though new things are always coming out. It's just that I don't care that much this season. Gameplay is the same as it ever was (not good) and the content feels very mailed in for every program - tons of moments and pxp grinds.

Collecting, i try to collect all cards. I love trying out new players/cards as well. Just got Pujols, Castellanos, and Betts this weekend.

I love the collections also. Once LS is completed I does seem like it gets boring. Even chasing Brett, I was just like "I'll wait for cheaper Takashi and Awards cards to drop". I think it would be great to extend LS collections. Make tokens to achieve to add more players to each team. The. Trade in the tokens for players. I hate looking at my LS collections which are all done but they either have wholes in them or a bunch of guys I can't collect because the collection is completed.

I play b/c i love baseball. I don't get caught up on the collecting side of things. I find if i just play with who i have and who i want it's enough.
I also do things different than most. I will decide what team i am gonna play and i will setup my team with same overalls as the team i am challenging. Instead of God Squad all the time vs CPU.

Actually play real people instead of playing against CPU all day

Hate it when I have “wholes” too, more of a halves guy myself.

I don't. Same situation as you except I have Brett as well. Have barely played at all the past 2 weeks. I've been playing lawn mowing simulator lol.
Game sucks this year. Everything boring, gain pxp, do moments, play vs cpu because online is garbage... all that for what? Show packs?

It's a baseball fix for me. Can't play it any more in real life as I've aged out and my rotator cuff can't take any more.
I play The Show, Super Mega Baseball 1 & 2 still, and occasionally fire up Baseball Stars on the NES emulator to, again, get my baseball fix.
I play less of this game, though, than I ever have especially since the implementation of Moments. I just don't like them and every where you turn, you pretty much need to do them / complete them to progress. I don't play Ranked but play either Mini Seasons or Events when I do play as my time is limited due to work.

I am collection obsessed, but refuse to spend any money. I have collected different things through my life and some worthless (DVDs, BluRays a few years) and some that have made me money (Retro video games and movie collectibles). The game deals with my collection hobby without costing me any money. I found in last years game as soon as I collected every card that my interest went away. I suspect the same in this game when it happens.

INever really liked DD, most guys you play online are toxic, I always played in online franchise you didn't have that [censored] in there
I play DD mostly offline and I played MTO 4 season but it feels to much as moments
RTTS was always fun but they linked it too much too DD
Franchise mode is still fun

I grind stubs so I can buy any player I want when I want. That is really all that is left for an online player like me. Basically trying out new swings and waiting for new content. Sad but true.
