Try the pitch setting Pitching Baller Marker: Pitch trail on.

The binder is probably the best way apart from going through “collections” the binder is team by team, and collections you could filter all your flashbacks and legends by rookie veteran all star sig series etc.
-
The best thing to do with them is just keep them for any “collections” mentioned previously or any “exchanges” in programs mentioned in 6
-
same thing as three, you’ll get hundreds of cards not that usable on your best team but usable for small missions in programs and collections.
-
He actually is a collection, he’s a live series collection. Each team has a reward, and each division and league have a reward as well getting better as you go. All of them combine for Randy Johnson. Each League plus him are the only 99s in the game for quite some time to start the year. Muss is the AL east collection reward, Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Orioles, Rays.
-
Do as many programs as possible, There is always one main program leveled up through XP. All base XP goes into as well as tons of missions for more XP.
There are also dozens of “other programs” that don’t expire with tons of cards and packs. Most valuable (besides the main) probably being the monthly programs which has the most diamonds. You could finish them and keep numerous diamonds and two or three very good ones or sell all the cards for about 80-100k. Several conquest maps give out quite a few packs as well as bonus XP for programs. Mini seasons as well.
If your pretty good then play online events because there the most frequent and worth quite a few stubs as well. Then next would Battle Royal or Ranked season, The BR program has a card worth about 100k same as RS, neither of which need you to be extremely good just time and effort.

yes and you may notice it on your side when pitching as well, it’s just to compensate for lag. You may want to try putting your TV into “game mode” if you have it because TV specs are quite important online in a game that’s all about timing.
-
I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about sorry.

Cards upgrade and downgrade throughout the year. If you were to buy in heavily on a 80 overall (own 20 or even 100) and he were to play well he enough to be upgraded he will become worth more. On the market and at quick sell. The overalls and value are somewhat like a stock market, which is how a lot of people make a lot of stubs for question 6. Too start the year Aaron Judge and Jose Ramirez were around 25-35k. After very good seasons they are now worth over 100k each. The same can be said for someone like Vlad Jr who WAS worth over 100k had a bad start and is now quite low in price. The earlier you finish a program the more the rewards are worth, the closers to the end the less, so it’s another way to make stubs. Earn it quick and buy it back later.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
I meant Perks, not Strategy. (Sorry, that's the Madden in me)
You brought up some good points, and I have a few follow-up questions if that's okay.
1 - If I add a player to a collection, do I lose them from my team?
2 - Do you have any "must do" setting recommendations"?
The gold player options is incredibly smart, thank you. I was wondering how that all worked.
-
-
Collecting you keep them and they become no sell.
Exchanging you lose them. -

The exchange sets seem like they'd only be for duplicate cards, as the value doesn't seem to be there.
In madden, you lose them once you add them to the set. I did a couple of trials, but was terrified of adding Aaron Judge to a set just in case I lost him.

I set pitching to "Pitching Trail" and I'm still having some pitches not end up in the same zone in which I'm throwing. I'm just doing classic for now, while I learn the game.
All of my pitchers are 85+, so it shouldn't be that they are terrible. Am I missing something else?

I think that’s the way of the game. Even Ohtani for me doesn’t put all the pictches where I target them. I think the game does that on purpose. I accept it but it gets aggravating especially in a tight situation. But again that’s the way of the game.

You won’t lose anyone to a collection, only to “exchanges” which are never really required but small boosts towards finishing programs. Use all the silvers and bronzes for exchanges and keep the Allstar or Breakout or unique cards you get for collections and missions. Example you get another good Vet or Allstar once you collect 10 and so on. They now go much further though, if you can find George Bretts collection basically you get him to if you collect nearly everything in the game, later down the road they’ll add another and another to keep people working towards something.
It may seem impossible and be hard to see as a new player, but a lot of people will have literally EVERY card in this game and another 10,000,000 stubs that serves no purpose. If you were to not worry about stuff that’s already been released and just work on the newer programs you’ll catch right up.
The “quirks” is probably what you mean. A bit confusing but basically there is a bunch of ones that don’t matter and a few that do. “Excels at hitting homeruns” just means he has over 80 power, you’ll see it in every card with 80+ Power. The ones near the bottom of the list on a player are called “live quirks” which have actual boosts during at bats in game. Some guys are pretty juiced up and have quite a few. For example “excels on the road” excels at night” “excels with two strikes” “excels at hitting fastballs” could literally all be in play at one time if your on the road at night with two strikes and Mike Trout batting you have like 4 or 5 active quirks. For a while “active quirks” were only on Live series players, so regular MLB roster players, now they have them on certain flashbacks (current players other years or made up cards) like the Face of the Franchise Cards but never on legends (retired players) like Babe Ruth.
Also one of the most valuable is called “outlier” which makes a pitchers max velocity even faster. So instead of 100mph they throw 103mph. Instead of a 95mph sinker it’s 100mph. A very overpowering pitch that some say has kinda ruined the game.
Settings are somewhat standard, MOST people use “zone” hitting and anyone playing online at a high level certainly does, but you honestly don’t need to play online at a high level to earn everything in this game, they have easier routes for players less seasoned. You can earn the same card for making WS (900 rating) by just playing 200 innings in Ranked season. Its the most rewarding setting once you get pretty good with it. It’s a user aim and timing setting. Strike zone is a great camera to use to see the pitches the best but a lot of people don’t like not being able to see the batter at the plate. It’s a personal preference, I just want to see the ball as best I can do it’s an obvious choice for me. There are few though so try them all.
Pitching isn’t as important but Pinpoint is the best, and when you get good with it the most fun because again it’s the most accurate. I’d just what a few videos on YouTube about settings and see what you want to use.
What you should really be doing if you want stubs and cards is looking at the main program… then the missions for it and doing as much at once. Example there are conquest maps, several player missions, a collection for the angels and Rockies jersey program so on and so on. If you were to complete those maps with a team filled with Rockies and angels you’ll earn progress for both, and by the time get the 30k Xp for the map, you’ll be close to 15k extra XP for collecting the jersey. You can even go further and use the Tori Hunter you unlock from the program and earn extra XP with him, He is an angel and will help with the other stuff and his own small mission for XP. The farther you get in the program the better the rewards, and some are sellable. For example there is 12 Diamond choice packs of Future stars cards you could sell as you earn and make about 100-200k in stubs. You just WONT have 20+ Future stars for collections.
If you wanted a simple and easy collection to try and complete that isn’t totally useless look under “prospects” and find the Adley. He’s a 90 overall catcher for 25 prospects and a lot are probably already in your inventory or cost about 2000 stubs. You get them like candy in conquest and mini seasons, but so did everyone so it’s extremely cheap.
Also Conquest is very simple but tedious and confusing for new players, look online to figure it out if it’s confusing. It’s basically risk but you don’t roll dice you play games.
And ask away bro I’m glad to help if you have any more questions.

There’s really two courses of action, load up on quirks that will really help you hit the ball early, or later. I choose early, I like to swing away and hope to lower the pitchers confidence and that sort of thing. It really makes a big difference. I do hit pretty well though.
The opposite would be to try to lower there stamina and take as many pitches as possible for nearly every batter. Eventually the stamina goes down especially on relievers and the PCI becomes giant, then you could try to get 2 strike quirks which help you with that process, and one that’s help when the stamina is low, maybe even the error quirk but contact and exit velo are still my favourites. This method just becomes a battle to keep taking pitches as much as possible until two strikes.
Most important thing is to keep your head, you have alot of outs and a lot are going to be good swings that you don’t get rewarded for. Just take every at bat as well as you can, don’t start to domino bad swing after bad swing. I used to take a minute break after 5 or 10 outs and do it in small segments.
Both approaches work but I still think the first is the best option to keep improving and eventually have moments and showdowns become a breeze and not a headache. Quitting out of every “get 2 extra base hits” on the first at bat kinda keeps you in the groove of waiting for it to happen and not making it happen. It’s more mental than anything, you can still get 2 XB hits on the last two at bats. And when you keep trying and keep that mentality, eventually when you have two outs left in a showdown and need two runs it doesn’t seem as impossible.

Thank you! Seriously, that was amazing. There's so many things to do within this game, which is why I've quickly become obsessed with it. Since the game was free, I was okay spending some money and bought a core overall team, including my man Aaron Judge, so I feel like I can at least compete.
My only current outstanding question is regarding the Conquest challenges. The maps make no sense to me. Are they worth the time?
Also, any pitchers or players you've found to play above their stats. I haven't really found a pitcher I love yet. Kris Bryant plays amazing for me.

You’re quite lucky if you already have Judge, he’s easily the most expensive card (gatekeeper) between you and Mussina but you already have him! To get Mussina you will need the whole AL east as said before, but it’s quite cheap because the Os Rays Red Sox and Jays are all quite cheap after Vlad got downgraded, him and Judge have basically switched in price. The Yankees are the most expensive and you have the most expensive card. You’ll get a really nice card for each of those teams then Mussina for the entire Division. If I were you I’d make that my next goal (AL east is always my first goal as a Jays Fan) and you’ll see the satisfaction and power of collections.
Conquest is worth it, again search on YouTube if it’s confusing because a 5 minutes video will explain it better than I can on here. Just try to do the ones that are related to the current program so the “future of the franchise maps” it will show you them in the menu once you go into programs and if you click on it, you will go right to the map.
There are also tons of hidden packs on the maps they don’t show. So let’s just break it alllllll the way down so you see the value. Go into programs and find you boy Lou Gehrig in “other programs”. To earn him you need to gain PXP with Yankees and do some moments plus a small exchange (cards won’t be yours anymore). So load up a team full of yankees and go into either of the “future of the franchise” conquest maps. Play it through with mostly Yankees and anyone else that will help you win games, when your done, you’ll get 30k XP for the current program, plus you’ll be almost completely done the Gehrig program besides the few moments which will give you another 10-15k XP for the current program, you’ll also get tons of extras packs and stubs from the conquest, plus all the regular base XP you earned from playing. Oh yeah, plus a new Diamond Lou Gehrig!! You kill 3-4 birds at once, packs and stubs and cards will start flowing like crazy once you learn how it all works.
If you finish the Gehrig program before the conquest map which you should because there’s two now, switch over to the Angels connect and Rockies connect programs which are the exact same mini programs you load up with players from that team that give you Xp for the larger program and packs.
Honestly with just that stuff right there you will be near the “boss rewards” in the program which is always the main objective. Oswald Peraza is the Yankees player so you can throw him in the squad or sell him for stubs about 10k stubs. The choice is yours, but had you earned him earlier the price would be higher so the choice is tougher to sell or keep, the best play is usually to sell when you earn them and buy back later when it’s cheaper. The last few days of the program being the cheapest.
Swings are usually what helps guys play “above stats” pitchers are harder to find. Offline the h/9 k/9 rating on pitchers will be really helpful against the CPU, and online the hardest throwing flame throwers or funky release type or pitchers are usually the best. And by best I mean they are going to get absolutely smoked because hitting trumps everything in this game. You may start to think people are even cheating but some guys have been playing for almost a decade and hit everything and anything. Don’t get discouraged, it’s possible to hit as well as them with some practice and effort.
Sorry if these are long, this is really killing time at work

Hey, don't apologize. These are super informative! I will take your advice on watching the youtube channel.
I made the setting changes for pitching/hitting and am already seeing a difference. I won my first online H2H, which felt good.
I'm working on a combination of the May Rewards (Rizzo), the mini-season, and online H2H right now. I like to mix it up. My team honestly feels pretty good offensively, but I want to upgrade my pitching. You said it perfectly with players with strange releases. Whitey Ford has been a favorite for me as he has a sidearm release and the ball sweeps across the strikezone. I want that Mussina for his rating.
I have to say, baserunning feels broken. Do you have recommended settings for that?

Thank you all so much, I really do appreciate it. It's a big help
Perks! Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry, they are called strategy cards in Madden (which I stopped playing this year because it's a complete money grab.
Are there certain sets that you all recommend over others? There's so many! I'm surprised that the inventory option showing all teams is the only option. I wish there was a filter where you could only see "owned cards"
I suggest getting the companion app for your phone. It has way better function for buying/selling cards. The inventory section on the app will allow you to show only cards you own, along with duplicate cards.

Is it working? I saw the marketplace online, which is super helpful
